This dance is completely African in origin, it's called Semba, and it's from Angola. I suspect this Danceform was brought to Cuba by African slaves from Angola.. Modern forms and derivatives are called "Kizomba" Y'all could search for "Semba" right here on YT.

He is using element of "Son cubano tradicional" (specifically “tornillo”) from Santiago de Cuba, that had been adding to Semba in the last years, please search a litter more before create and disseminate disturbing idea. You see element from Casino (Salsa dance from Cuba), Rumba (Guaguancó and Columbia), Abakuá and other movement that born by fusion in Cuba from more than 80 African ethnic (not only from people kidnapped and sell from actually Angola area). That came from Africa, but you won’t see it in Africa, only Cuban preserve and recreate that heritage, that big source made Cuban culture so big and different from others. I come from “Angola generation”, my father was in Angola in 1976, my neighbors and my friend die in Angola, I study in Cuban university with friend from Angola and have contact with Semba and Kizomba for more than 25 years.

I respect your opinion, but bro, what I'm saying is - The origins of this danceform didn't come from(originate) in Cuba, it evolved there, and, I do emphasize "Origins".
The Aboriginal peoples of Cuba (Taino, Carib, Arawak) didn't dance like this, these forms didn't originate with them. What I was saying is these forms Originated in Africa specifically in Angola, but also there are elements from among the Mandinka and Mende of West Africa also.
I'm not disputing your argument that certain elements were added and evolved in Cuba as all artforms do evolve. MY argument is, to Origins. Nowhere in my original post did I exclude nor disparage Cuba or denied its contributions to the form, I just spoke of "Origins" from an historical reference. So that people be aware and take pride in their Roots, History and Heritage.
Not unlike Jazz and Blues in the USA, whose origins is in West Africa, specific to the Senegambeze (Senegal/Gambia) but not limited to. That musical form originated there and was brought to the USA through slavery, where it evolved into the many forms we see today including, Gospel, Rap and HipHop Rock n Roll etc., etc., . - Much Peace - Much Love

Of course that the origin come from Africa, there's not doubt about that, and millions of Cubans are proud of our African heritage, but one thing is the origin and other is the result. The origins of Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, French and Romanian is the Latin, that’s languages aren't equivalent to Latin. We can said that Einstein created the atomic bomb because he create the relative theory?
You don't understand the meaning of Cuba, because Cuba mean melting pot, fusion, everything come outside of Cuba and inside give a new meaning to all this culture from 1492 till today, the magic is the blend without lose the origin. Al this come from Africa, but you won't found Salsa in Africa, by the way, too many African musician, from Senegal and other country, went to Cuba for learn about Cuban music, then create Baobab orchestra and other, the same with the dance, we joint all current in one and this one you won't found in Africa. You won't found Rumba in Africa, but they use for create new rhythm like Soukous.
Be clear, we don't refute the important of Africa in our culture, event we have rhythms with African name: Mambo and Mozambique, I use to say that I was made in Cuba with Africans parts. Look in Cuban history, you will found too many foreign persons Hatuey, Máximo Gomez, Narciso Lopez, Bacardi, Jolio Lobo... and a big Chinese community, gypsy… this is Cuba. If you found equivalent to Salsa, Rumba, Mozambique, Mambo, Batanga, Bolero-Son, Changüi, Cha cha cha, Pachanga and other Cuban rhythms in Africa, please let me know even know that all come from African culture, the same the Cuban dance that came from Africa. Take care,

This dance is not Semba. This is Casino. It's most recent ancestor is Son. Son has evolved over the course of 100 years to include patterns from other popular dances but Son began to develop in the late 1800's, taking influence from Changui and Nengon. On multiple levels of dance and music we see influence from various Spanish and African traditions.
Cuban partner dance also takes some influence from the French development of an English country dance (contradanse) which soon became contradanza in Cuba, then the country's national dance, Danzon.
While the West African slaves brought with them a wide array of dance and music styles, Son and Casino are examples of creole dance culture in Cuba -- a blending of primarily African and Spanish traditions. The history of Casino and Son are well known in terms of both their European and African roots, and Semba is not included for obvious reasons: it had no impact on the creation of Son, which seems to predate Semba, or Casino. Let's not fabricate history.

Yes it is African Origin, but isn't Semba, and not only from Angola, you need to read about afrocuban history. The mayor influences comes from Nigeria, Congo, New Guinea, Zaire, etc and probably the last one Angola. You need to know first about rumba origins, then Orishas religion, Congo religion, franco-antillean, about the 3 principals ethnias groups influences, and so on...
