Thanks for correcting. There are two typos. I hope the concept is clear anyways. :)
    1) 67x 125 = 8375 (1/4 of 33.5=8.375)
    1) 25 x 66 = 1650 and 25 x 68 = 1700 average is 1675

  • @laramie123
    @laramie123  11 років тому +4

That is not true. I used even numbers to make it easy to understand.
    Now lets see. multiply by 5------67 x 5 = 335 (half of 67 is 33.5)
    Again, 67 x 25 = 1675 (1/2 of of 33.5 = 16.75)
    67 x 125 = 8375 (1/2 of 33.5 = 8.375)
Now it is possible that you may find it very difficult but you can do good approximation like this by choosing closer even number.
5 x 66 = 330 which is close to 335. this way you can get an idea.
    For exact calculation
    25 x 55 = 1650 and 25 x 68 = 1700 average is 1675

Maddikera praneeth ..if the number is not divisible 2 exactly...is your doubt right.....trick is simple 5 can be written as10/2 .so divide the odd number with 2 you get some form like x.5 by multiplying it with 10 point goes off..eg:if it is 43*5=(43/2)*10=21.5*10=215

Using the formula z^3=[z(z+1)/2]^2 - [z(z-1)/2]^2 to convert z ^ 3 become the exponent 2. Then using the formula [z(z+1)/2]^2=1^3+2^3+........+z^3 to convert the exponent 2 become the exponent 3.
Repeat several times the old method.
We will see that Fermat's last Theorem is a Transformers Robot Bumblebee
This is my simplest format of Transformers Robot Bumblebee.
    Only (N+).
    Using two formulas:
    z^3=[z(z+1)/2]^2 - [z(z-1)/2]^2
    And define x

Nice video but you could have explained why we divide and multiply by these numbers.
For example when multiplying by 5 we divide by 2 and multiply 10 because 5=10/2
Similarly multiplying by 25 we divide by 4 and multiply by 100 because 25=100/4
Multiplying by 125 we divide by 8 and multiply by 1000 because 125=1000/4
Multiplying by 15 is a bit different in this case.
Check out the Trachtenberg System of Basic Mathematics and you'll see how to do long multiplication fast and in your head.
Anyone interested in this might also be interested in the 1089 problem. It's quite fun

An easier way with 5 is simply to half and double. 46 x 5 is the same as 23 x 10 = 230. Tricks and short cuts are good...but only if you know math sense and number association to begin with. Telling kids to 'add 0s' doesn't make them aware of what numbers they are working with and what they mean. Too many kids today are following formulas but not doing enough mental math and have math awareness.

with your stupid methods compared to fast easy methods? You don't need to understand numbers or the roots of a trick if there is a easier method. Shut up you aren't even smart.

multiply even no by 5 unit digits of Q are ends with 0 and odd mulitply by 5 unit digts of Q are ends with 5 insted of putting 0 for eg: 123*5
first step 123/2 gives 61 Q and R 1, when ever you get remainder 1 in odd no putt 5 in the unit digt of Q so the ans well be 615
another eg 873 *5 first steps 873/2 gives Q 436 and R 1 then put 5 in Q unit digt so the ans will be 4365

No need to add anything when multiplying by 15
Just your method: divide by two then multiply by three then add a zero.
Much easier, if you first add the zero and then multiply by three, because of odd numbers.
    E.g.
    63x15=?
    63/2=31,5 -> 315 >x3 =945

17*125= 2125 (this is mentally calculated). How?
Divide 17 / 8. you will get 2 as quotient and the remainder is 1.
Multiply the remainder by 125 and put the result after 2.
      Suppose 83 x 125
      10/3*125
      =10375

if anyones windering why did he use all even number in the five you probably ask yourself is it only for even and the answer to that is no you can multiply odd number too this how you do it example 81 × 5
all you have to do is to alf it so 81 bacomes 40 you see that i left one will go there in just a second so you have 40 so you put in the first number so 40_
now stop right there you probably put zero no put 5 in it so it 81×5=405 so that how to do the odd one

To multiply any number by 5, all you need to do is to multiply it be 10 and half the result - I assumed that most people knew that.

For example, if you need to multiply 75 by 5, first multiply it by 10 by adding a zero - 750, now half 750 and you get 375, which is arguably quicker than the conventional way.

+Banu Priya U.Sidda Reddy yes, its possible for every number include odd numbers for example.
      3 *15 = 45
      3 + 3/2 *10
      3 + 1.5 *10
      4.5 * 10 = 45

akash singh There is 2 way to do it first is divide number by 2 and then multiply by 10. Or multiply by 10 first and then divide by 2. see example below.
      87*5 = ?
      first option:
      half of 87
half of 8 is 4, and half of 7 is 3.5, so half is 87 is 43.5
      43.5 times 10 is 435
      second option:
multiply 87 with 10 and then divide by 2.
      87 add 0 = 870 now divide by 2
half of 8 is 4, and half of 70 is 35, so answer is 435
