Restore and Clean your Old Car's Fuel Tank AT HOME! DIY Method UNDER $75! (Muriatic Acid Magic)

  • In today's video I show how to easily clean an old car or truck fuel tank at home using muriatic acid, and some gravel. In some cases where a new fuel tank is very expensive or not reproduced, the only option you have is to have your tank cleaned or have one made, which can be costly to pay someone to do. While this method is not going to get 100% of the rust, it will get nearly all of it and once the tank is sealed, it should be good as new. This method can also be done at home, under 2 hours, and under $75, making it a win for the DIY car restorer who doesn't have an endless budget. Cleaning a gas tank of rust, varnish, and grime doesn't need to be expensive if you know what to do!

Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍. I have to disagree if the tank is OEM quality is 10X better ! I did the same to a 1964 Olds Cutlass S Convertible clean & install new tank unit for fuel reinstalled no issues ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍

This is a very clear, informative video! Cars apart, do you know WHY cats like getting water, when people give them FRESH water , in a clean dish? It's just their INSTINCT to get water for them selves, wherever they can!

The only time I had a tank restored is when I took it to a radiator shop and had boiled. It came back clean, and I didn't have to do the work! Good video!

The 10:1 ratio is meant for the acid to have enough base (H2O, H and the O) to react to.Sometimes more concentrated mix won’t actually be more powerful as it burn through all the Hydrogen and or Oxygen. HCl + H2O = H3O+ + Cl- It needs sufficient H and O….
But I guess 5:1 is fine and, likely more powerful. 8:1 might be perfect. Good show!

Some people strap the tank [with everything plugged] to their tractor and then go out to mow. An hour of aggitation cleans it right up.

@@IowaClassicCars Are you allowed to live in
Iowa without access to a tractor? Even Junkyard Diggs has a tractor! In a pinch, I suppose you could just throw it in your truck bed and drive down a few dirt roads.

What's the deal with the Buick? That's a really cool car!!! Is it a 2 door or a 4 door? Is it for sale currently? I'm looking for a great car to make into a Gasser! So please let me know if you are able to get back to me and maybe later we could meet? I'm located in High Prairie Alberta Canada. Hope to hear from you soon! Love dem vids bro! Keep up the good work! Very informative! I once had a 1972 Honda CT350? It had a Hooker header on it! It made it look like a flat track bike!! Anyway I'm digressing here! Maybe when we finally meet up with each other I'll tell you about that fiasco!!! Ciao for now. Out
