Mark, just want to say how much tip 3 helped me out. 8 index who has gotten used to a pretty significant "power fade" with my driver. Had been working with the swing thought "hit it to right field" or "hit 7 o clock on the ball", but felt like my face was still open. Tried tip 3 at the range last night and surprise surprise, straight drives! Even managed to work a couple draws in, which I have NEVER been able to hit before. Thank you!

I used that release drill towards the end of the video and a slightly stronger grip, and those two in concert finally allowed me to start snapping some left. I backed off the release feel a smidge and tried a similar drill to feel what a more square clubface felt like at impact instead of post impact, and finally I'm hitting a more reliable small pull fade. And man it feels good - I'm sending Mark a Christmas card this year.

Thanks for the advice to stop slicing the driver. I tried them out during a practice game today and had some success. Tip 2 regarding the grip position and wrist angle was particularly helpful for me.
Keep up the great videos and podcast.

I was down the driving range today Mark, trying your tips on on the release and keeping a flat wrist.
Wow, what a difference, no slicing but a gentle fade. The bonus out of this was my ball speed. As I was more free to swing and not get stuck. I hit a ball speed of 156mph but on average of 152mph. Up from 140mph. Thanks Mark, happy days.

Very fortunate in I was advised to go for lessons right from the start over 20 years ago with Lee Kopanski (also on youtube) at our local driving range. After about 12months, my draw shots and distance were the envy of my fellow society members. Now with lack of play, practice and age, my swing has altered slightly. These videos are reminding me of how I used to draw and what I need to do to get back on track. However, I do feel the need to go back to more lessons (with a pro suited to me). Also, I was watching your desire to increase swing speed. This made me realise that with age I had become lazy. I have now improved swing speed toward where i was years ago, now at point of regaining accuracy that is lost when swing speed increased. Great videos, informative with humour. Liking Muppets v ?? series too, especially when you play near my home in Spain. Would like some tips on "old swingers" pun intended, to keep reasonably competitive for longer. Will be 67 this year. Thanks, and keep up the good work. Great surname too!!!

I watched this video this morning and tweaked my grip ever so slightly based on Mark’s direction. Huge difference in my shot shape from a baby draw/draw to very nearly straight. The problem was I must be used to aiming more right expecting the draw only to find my drives in the right rough. Still shot sub 80 for 44 stableford points. More Mark - more.

I had always been a draw player. For a few months i just sliced every drive right. Last week i finally discovered the big thing that caused it. I just choked the grip on every shot. It prevented me from closing the club face and everything went right.
Just loosening my grip fixed the problem. Still have plenty to work on though

Why so many golfers still slices the ball when there is millions of videos out there on fixing the slice…? Because 90% of all the slicers are PATH. Other 10% is open face, grip, release, ball position and space. Most slicer thinks u hit the ball at the farthest pt of the arc. The club should come back inside right after impact. NO! Even with a driver, just like an iron. The lowest pt for an iron in 3in in front of the ball. For driver, the farthest pt of your swing arc should be still 3in in front of the ball while swinging up. The driver doesn’t not come back in after impact, it should still traveling out or atleast towards “right field” after impact. Do this while the face is square or “facing target line” you will hit dead straight or a nice draw.

Start driving the turn in your entire body with your legs earlier during the downswing. It will make your clubface come over the ball more, resulting in a slice.
If you slice too much, simply turn later in your downswing
