I know New England never won anything from 2010-2012 but damn were those 3 years fun to watch offensively. At the time it felt like a modern day K-Gun and just like Buffalo they couldn't finish the job!
Imma be honest I'm pretty sure that bit about Hernandez basically encapsulates why people don't talk about this offense lol. It's a bit of a hard pill to swallow when you find yourself complementing an offense that relied so heavily on a murderer. Not to say everyone else was a bum or somehow imply that he carried the team but its sorta weird trying to have any serious conversation about Hernandez on the pats without it basically boiling down to "haha murder".
Its not just that; nobody cares about 2013 Broncos, 2015 Panthers, 2011 Packers, 2010 Patriots, 2008 Saints either. ALL were #1 in offense; but they didnt win SB so low info fans who, MAYBE can name the SB winners that seasons have no idea they existed. Lets be honest, half of 'football fans' watch the SB and maybe half watched 2-5 other games while on their phones scrolling social media. Only way informed fans know and appreciate these teams re-watching their games a decade later.
I bet you had no idea Saints led the league in 2008, and Patriots did so in 2010. The origin of Gronk and Hernandez shredded 2010; but who cares, the Jets beat them. With a truly awesome game plan nobody else had tried yet; Rex's greatest triumph. Come to think of it I need to rewatch that game; after seeing 2010 Patriots offense working as designed.
FACT: The best offenses #1 in Points, or MVP QB or both ALWAYS lose postseason. Bradys best seasons is 2007, 2012, 2017. THOSE are his HOF resume to me; the years he shreds the league further than anyone, not the years with great defense that wins the rings. Most all time great QBs are lucky to hit number 1 ONCE in 15 seasons. If you shredded the league to #1 in points THREE times; I don't care how many rings you have, you're among the best to ever play. Rings are a function of defense and having an offense Good ENOUGH; esp at running it. Brady was below avg 2001-2003; still got 2 rings out of it.
THAT DOESNT diminish the MVPs and Greatest offenses in NFL history one bit. Only to idiots. Wanna know why the best offenses lose? Because they HAD to score every possession in all the tough games. AND THEY DID IT, which is why they scored 35+ ppg. That doesn't work in January and February. Only 06 Colts and 09 Saints won it all with great offense without balanced team.
Up by 20 points in the 4th most offenses stop risking their stars and roll out the depth chart. NOT THE BAD DEFENSES; they have narrow leads they can't let up the gas for a second. Exhausting. Probably why they falter in January; every offensive player played every damn snap.
This is quite an oversimplification and just an overall strange way to analyze a QB's career. I suppose Trent Green is one of the greatest ever. You also omitted 2010, but you aren't referring to total offense (yards) it seems. PPG is such an overrated stat that newbies rely on for everything, sorry (it counts return touchdowns and doesn't take field position, game situations, or number of possessions into account). Points per drive, yards, yards-per-play, EPA/play, DVOA, etc... tell us more. Either way, being ranked top 3 or top 5 is still very impressive. What about using the aforementioned DVOA as a measure of an offense? Brady-led offenses were #1 in that metric 6 times (2007, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2017, and 2021). Another 8 of those were top 5 (2004, 2006, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2020) and from those eight, 4 were top 3 (2004, 2011, 2016, 2020). No, Brady did not win all those Super Bowls due to great defenses and running games. Only someone who doesn't actually follow his career closely and instead relies on false perceptions thinks that. Check out Brady's (and his offense's) postseason numbers from 2014 to 2020 and you'll understand just how reliant those teams were on Brady's arm.

If Gronk doesn’t get hurt in 2011 and 2012, they probably win both years.
This team got the most first downs in a season. NFL record
Patriots legend Brandon Lloyd
you put a lotta time in this video. you the goat
5:27 yooo sneaking in a "Washington Foreskins" on that graphic was a sweet touch 😂
Why bleep out Aaron Hernandez
No individual player on that offense had a memorable season.
its called a team.
The 2017 offense was great too
Thank you !

Nobody cares it doesn’t matter if they didn’t win a ring how great their offense was. They were just one of 31 teams to not win the Lombardi trophy.
