Just listening to their podcast after reading FW AND IF and knowing that so many of their theories and speculations are true is just freaking AMAZING❤🤩
1:15:21 When Andarna says “nature always finds the balance” in this part, I always assumed it was her talking about feather tails having such strong powers and being able to use them because they’re babies and ‘weaker’. I could be wrong though
11:44: Kaori was at the healers tent, because Violet mentioned on page 175 that healers arent allowed on the field I love your Podcast, found it yesterday and listened to all of it in a day
Yalls podcast completely makes my Monday so much better! I'm listening to yall while drinking coffee from my new basgiath war college cup at work! I have been waiting for this episode with all the Shadow Daddy goodness!!!!!
I am in love with this podcast!!! It has been helping my book hangover of Fourth Wing so much! Within this episode, there’s actually some historical proof that in medieval times, if you are a guest under someone else’s roof you are by extension protected because there was so much of the hosts just killing their guests all the time so then it was changed (I forget how but it was changed) into if you are a guest you are protected by the host.
First off thank you so so much! We are so happy you love the podcast! and secondly omg! We knew this was a thing in Game of Thrones but didn't know it was based on a real thing! Thank you for being a wealth of knowledge!
Ok, crazy prediction, but what if the new vice commandant in Iron Flame is Amber Mavis's dad? That would definitely explain "his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is-unless she betrays the man she loves."
I think i listened to all of your episodes / bonus at least 3 times each since i found you guys a week ago and this new episode is FEEDING my HUNGEEERR. I love how both of you are bringing different views on the table and you complement each other pretty nicely ! Love love love loveeeee itttt ! I also don't think there's so much meaning behind the dragons name for the world-building and it's more about the author playing around with the names. When i tell you I WHEEZED at that moment : CATH'S MEANING ANNOYING, this is C-A-N-O-N and the MOST ACCURATE THING i ever heard !! Andarna is SUCH a mystery and I LOVE where you guys are going with all you theories and speculations. Her name meaning Second Honor, maybe its literally Violet's second honor of being granted a second bond and doesn't foreshadow anything about her role / signet ? But I also LOVE the royalty theory too !! There's SOMETHING around Andarna and i'm SO excited to learn more about her in Iron Flame !!!! "As it should be". You. Guys. I'll be right there with you in 2027 when we'll get to that "OOOOHHHHH" moment. There's FOR SURE something happening on the dragon's side politics. I was talking about it with my friend last night : WHAT IF Dragons orchestrated the whole erasing history thing because they wanted to protect the Vale at all cost and they're the one telling the leadership to shut the frick up about venin so humans are not wasting their lifes on defending the whole continent and only Navarre and the Vale ? When Violet was asking Dain about Xaden bonding Sgaeyl and still being able to betray Navarre, Dain told her something along the lines of "i thought so at first but when i bonded Cath i realized dragons are willing to do ANYTHING to protect the Vale" so at one point they maybe just said "screw venin, screw people, its every one for themselves, we're closing the wards and protecting the Vale at all cost". And now maybe there's a group of dragons inside the Emperyan that are against that whole selfish thing and wants to help fight the Venin (Tairn, Sgaeyl, all the other dragons bonding marked ones). How INSANE would that be ? I can't wait for the next episode and I WILL keep rewatching the whole podcast on repeat for the next week until the next one comes out lmao ! Love you guys
Nicole and I had the same exact face when Lexi said she wanted to come to Violet’s defense (39:22) 😂😂 Have binged the first 3 episodes and watching this one now all just today-really great stuff y’all!!
and yessss! The moment where I found out their dragons were mates & what that means and the bond with the 4 of them I was mindblown!!! I did not see that coming & it made me go from liking to LOVING this!
On the dragon names - it could be that the dragon name matches to the person the dragon is meant to be with through to the end. Kind of like a fated mate scenario but with a rider and the dragon - if that makes sense.
You guys are saving me, I just finished the book again 2 days ago and I have been listening nonstop to your podcast to help with the need to talk about FW so thank you so so much I love your content!!!!!
I’m so late on the fourth wing train, and this podcast is the reason I decided to read it! I first found your ACOTAR vids and y’all helped me through the hangover and into fourth wing! Absolutely love your vids!
I really am enjoying this a lot! Greetings from Argentina 💖. Regarding of Andarna´s phrase "it's hard to love a sencond home as much as the first", I don't believe it's actually related to a place like the Vale, but more of a someone (in this case her parents, since as Tairn informed us prevously, both had passed away). This comes in handy specially given that Violet does not consider the idea of home as a place either, but as her father as you both pointed out. Please note that Violet has spent her entire life moving between different posts according to where has her mother been assigned to, so there is no physical idea of home but rather an emotional one, and I do believe this concept applies to Andarna as well.
When I was first reading it I was scared the female rider that opened the door was Rhi. And I had no reason to why rhi would betray Vi like that, it was just how she kept describing her disbelief and that no one else would believe it. She barely believes it herself. I was so relieved they didn’t go that way.
Okay I'm listening to it again right now and I didn't realize it but when they were walking back from the vale and Xaden tells her not to tell about the time stopping because "rare abilities, when kept secret are the rarest form of currency we have" THEN VIOLET LOOKS AT HIS REBELLION RELIC!
if we believe some dragons took part in the rebellion and/or are willing to bond rebellion kids (unlike other dragons), what if andarna is the equivalent of a rebellion kid for the dragons like that's why her parents are dead and why tairn and sgaeyl (two very op dragons individually and the strongest mated pair in a long time, also a part of the rebellion) have basically adopted her? this could also fit interestingly with the theory that she's a royal and that's why no dragon can tell her what to do
Okay so I am deep diving along with your videos and just attempting to pay really close attention to everything, with that said my Dain touch count at the end of these chapters is actually 25 touches all together, including 16 skin-on-skin touches and 7 face touches (which are also counted as skin-on-skin). The way I've been counting it is by paying attention to every time he takes his hands off her then counting the next time he puts his hands back on her, so with those 3 back to back instances I only counted that as 2 cause he took his hands off her 1 time and then back on her and the 3rd was him just moving his thumb on her face not actually removing his hand and touching her again. (I'll probably comment again on a later video too) and I did read that Xaden POV and LOVED it so thanks for sharing that!
Here’s a thought on Yesenia playing a part in recording the battle. I had an inclining that Lilith sent Violet to riders quadrant (for various reasons) to witness what’s being censored and omitted by authority regarding the rebellion, wyverns and venin. And since Violet has been trained as a scribe she knows exactly what information should be noted and how to record it- and has a close friend in the scribes that can help her.
I lucked out and got 2 tickets for the Tempe, AZ. I had talked my sister into reading 4th Wing several months ago and the only way I could get her to forgive me was to promise that her birthday present (Nov. 3rd) would be Iron Flame. We are so excited to go and leave our sons at home with our husbands. Her ticket is her birthday present 😊
Ok, I just finished Fourth Wing yesterday and listening to your pod made me think of something from last podcast. I think the "two powers" you talk about are especially noticeable, at least right now, in the Rebellion Relic kids because Codah marked them very similarly to how dragons mark their riders. So would it be safe to say that the Rebel Relic kids have had a "Signet" from Codah while growing up? My thought comes to this because the reason instructors and other riders got mad at Imogen is because she was using her powers on the mat and this was before they bonded with their dragons. So I do believe that Nicole was right when she said that Imogen's second power was speed. How could she move that fast without being bonded? She can't be syphoning power from around her or she would risk becoming a Venin, which cannot happen within the Wards of this area. I believe that is why we read about Liam throwing ice spears during the battle when he mentioned that his signet is far sight. Or would does everyone get 2 powers from bonding with a dragon? You have mentioned, reading from the texts, that Andarna has time stopping powers, but as dragons get older their power changes into what the power used to bond with a Rider. using Liam as the example, he gained far sight from his bond with Deigh but we also know that Deigh's name means ice, which was another power we read about Liam doing.
I don’t think xaden can always read minds sometimes he begs violet to tell him things and one time directly asks what she’s thinking. It would make sense if the second signet be less reliable or less powerful. Especially since we don’t know if the signet is coming from codagh or sgaeyl
I’m low-key upset that Violet wasn’t more upset about him lying to her towards the end of the book. Like I understand, she needed to go fight the vein and what not. I feel like their needs to be more consequences for his lying. I felt like this and her feelings was pushed aside due to the battle. I don’t want them to break up but he needs to understand that it’s not ok.
I think it was explained, if she was in that same situation she wouldn't tell anyone either. There's no point being upset with someone if you understand the reasoning behind it.
I believe they might change the patches on the uniforms in case they end up on enemy lines and maybe interrogated to find out the patches to the powers
My thoughts on the newly unbonded dragon bit: what if the dragons have a second rider already in mind after threshing? Like every dragon makes a second choice mentally so they know who might be good for them if their first choice fails.
hey! so here is a thing what if Violet has a mind shield, something like Bella had in Twilight? So that is why Daine once was like giving her long waiting look while checking on her? looove this episode!
There might be some behind the scenes dragon conversations that violet can't hear yet. When she started thinking about xaden, tairn may have transferred that thought to zagale which in turn told xaden which made him turn to look at her.
I think V’s tattoo/dragon relic will stay the same because of what you guys said about Andarna being more connected to her emotionally. So, Andarna is her core aka heart and Tairn is her strength aka muscle.
How many and which memories are being wiped by Imogen during their training sessions? Is this part of the reason she was chosen to train her- to help protect secrets/feelings from Dain, or help train her shields as well? I need more info about Imogen’s signet!
I think Garrick knows how conflicted is Xaden and he runs to himself to protect and control Xaden from himself. As if Xaden has asked for help to Garrick to keep him sane, to not act on hate feelings as he promised to take care of her to her mom and being Brennan's sister.
For the comment that Andarna days about her second home my thoughts were that she is maybe referring to the fact that as we know saygal and tairn are her step parents so it could be with her saying her second home is them and her first home was with her original parents.
Omg I love your podcast so much!! I just discovered it 2 days ago and I’m already all caught up🤣 I love the structure and all your theories😍, the only thing I can say that I disagree with is your perception that Lilith is behaving the way that she is to protect Violet or to give her a fighting chance. I have reread the book many times and the only way I can look at it, it’s that she just doesn’t care for Violet🫣 the way she disregarded Violet’s wishes to join the scribes(even if Vi was meant to be a rider) and the overall way she behaves and treats Violet, I think she is 100% in on the truth about the venim but she’s on the side of the goverment and the reason she forced Violet to join the riders was to maintain her family’s pride and “legacy” as she said one time. I don’t think she is gonna pull a papa Archeron and change her mind and be useful later on, I think she is one of the villains of this story, and I think it would be interesting to see which side Violet joins (we all know it will be Xande’s) but like the struggles between Brennan and her mom’s approval. Just my theory lol Love the pod!!!💜💜
i really, really do not believe Xaden is an inntinnsic (and yes, partly because it's a horrible invasion of privacy almost putting him on paar with Dain, regardless of the differences in how they use those powers) - at least before the formation of his bond with Violet through their mated dragons, i think the scalp prickle thing could be explained as a product of Violet's paranoia about him (she was warned by Mira and Dain, and she knew who Xaden was), her intuition/7th sense (which developed to keep her alive at this high stress war college) and even her attraction to him and it was used as a tool for the readers to know that yes, big bad sworn enemy is watching her bcuz it makes him that much scarier and more ominous, the imminent threat of him looming over her. he knows a lot of things which he's not "meant" to know but i think it's because of his own very good intuition and "street smarts" (which is also what i think tairn meant when he warned him not to try to read him, and this intuition also contributes to Xaden's initial portrayal as this op untouchable character who's seemingly everywhere and knows everything) and his shadows, which can be everywhere at all times i. e. when he made the whole room dark at the outpost/his wall of shadow stopping the wyvern and he himself saying his shadows hear and see all; and to answer 36:45 we also know he doesn't need to be watching her for her to feel the prickle or for him to be keeping an eye on her still because remember when she drops her quill in battle brief and a shadow hands it to her but when she looks at Xaden he's just normally talking to Garrick? is it possible then that his shadows are a living thing with a mind of their own and he communicates with them and controls them but they have some form of autonomy too? this could be why she feels the prickle too, or why he seems to know everything that's going on
Balance of power- what if Andarna’s power will be something to do with finding the truth? Or knowledge since Violet is known for her intelligence. Hmmmm??? This is sending me down a rabbit hole
I have a theory on another stress that Xaden has about being bonded to Violet: Firstly - the fact that he has taken on responsibility of the 107 marked kids saying if any of them are caught being disloyal to the nation, he will die, BUT is deeply involved in the rebellion and bringing those marked kids with him into it, says he's fine to die. If any of them are caught he dies and he has accepted that. BUT NOW, someone he knows he feels deeply for will most probably die if he dies. So she is now chained to his almost inevitable death sentence. Maybe later when he realises that the golden dragon is a baby that will grow into a full, power-giving dragon, he then believes that even if he dies and Tairn subsequently dies, she may be able to live through her attachment to Andarna. (Which makes me VERY worried about him potentially being offed at some point in the series!!) I think in the moment of threshing he has that fear of HER dying or being weakened if he dies - he's fine with dying. Just some ideas to play with.
Another point, he's not guaranteed death if they get caught but at the very least he'd need to be away from Basgiath - run and hide. And the dragon's can't stay away from each other so her free will and ability to choose whether or not she gets involved is actually fucked
Also, now that I've pressed play, this is why he says she's the last person he wants bonded to him. Because he does love her and he is basically on death row.
I have so many questions about Dains signet, like says he can only read recent memories when touching someone’s temples, page 52. But Xaden and Tairn think it’s just when he touches someone. Also how recent is recent? Xaden tells Violet about visiting Athebyne on page 391 but doesn’t say what it was for, Dain touches her face on page 405 but that was at least a month after Xaden told Violet. So can he just see any memories and told Violet it was recent because his signet is “classified”?
Ok - Xaden on being chained to Violet. He is denying his feelings and trying to honor the bro code. She's Brennan's baby sister and bros don't mess around with the sisters of their bros. We know that Xaden, while having secrets, is an honorable man.
This is a crazy theory but I think her second signet will be resurrection. Xaden says you'll be the death of me toooooooo many times. He is going to die and I think the second signet will show when she tries to save him. Then she'll have guilt for not being able to save Liem. And it was still be in balance cause the lightening signet mean death. Death is balanced by life
About the mind reading xaden thing what if he can’t control it yet. Because it does say that it takes time to learn to control the signet powers. I know that he is in 3 year but don’t forget that he would of had to control the shadows too and that (shadows) seems like a very difficult signet to control and it seems li,e a dangerous one too that could potentially overwhelm and kill him if not controlled. So he may have focused on that bc it was more important to control at the time therefore the mind reading would not have as much control yet. Or he may have developed the mind reading later on after the shadows which would mean he has had less time to learn to control it. I just don’t think he would invade her privacy that way on purpose, definitely not often and if he ever did I think he would feel really bad about it afterwards.
I honestly think its the bond becuase again going back to that last chapter he wants to know what shes FEELING not thinking. mind readers wouldnt know her emotions right?
Possibly! Other mind readers in different universes do have the ability to tell emotions BUT we have no idea how that magic would work in this world! So many questions!
I want to know how "recent" is recent. I don't think Dain knows about the meeting of rebels but I think he starts spying when Dain's dad sees them together. BUT I think he's always paying attention to the rebels just because he doesn't trust them at all and can see how Xaden spends too much time with Violet. It makes him jealous and so he tried to pull the memory of what X and V were talking about when he left them alone. oooohhh I want to actually talk about this. I could go on and on about this bc I do hate Dain but I think we slide into he's already using his power on purpose from the very beginning. I wanna know more about his power in general.
Speaking on Andarna and Violets bond being stronger than Tairns. Possibly Andarna could've done like an imprint via Twilight, and sees Violet as her mother. Therefore being more bonded than Tairn?
To me, the reason why two dragons don't usually bond one rider is the risk it causes. Tairn almost died when Naolin passed. Imagine having two giga chad dragons bonded to the same person and losing them both in one fell swoop.
with the whole signets and the dragons name linking. I feel like the dragon riders will develop 2 signets, one that is similar to the dragons name and another that they develop on their own. maybe lol.
I also will say, I HATED when violet was like no! dont kill her give her a chance! she didnt mean it when she tried to kill me. like NO GIRL. how delusional do you have to be?!!! I dont know why rebecca wrote it like that but I hate it and want it removed lol
Fair! For us, it makes a lot of sense with her character arch. She always went for wound attacks rather than de@th blows, so when she does eventually end up killing Jack, the line of "I hate how this changes ME" hits that much harder
I dont think this is what happened but it's a cool theory to think about. What if one of Andarna's parent's was Brennan's dragon and when Brennan died/was brought back his dragon died Andarna's other parent died to because they were mated.
I am absolutely loving this podcast girls! But I must say with regarding Dain and what he's hoping to get from Violet by touching her and looking at her memories. There is a small part of me in the early aspect of the story that thinks Dain believes that there is some reason that Violet is keeping from him about why the sudden change from Scribe to Rider's quadrant. I won't deny that he is a dick and self absorbed but at the same time he does make this big deal about how she should be in the Scribe's quadrant and even tries to convince her to make the change. We know that Violet grew up training to one day be a scribe, the sudden change is strange and so many people are making theories as to what the reason is behind the sudden change. If the theory surrounding Violet's mum and how she could possibly have a Snape like arc, could it be possible that Dain is trying to gather something, anything to make it make sense? It's after Violet spends more time with Xaden and the other marked ones, that I truly believe Dain is trying to gather information on the marked ones.
If Jessenia is the one scribing this story down on paper. Could it be that she just didn't put it in that she was deaf because it was just such a back of the mind thing for her?
Just listening to their podcast after reading FW AND IF and knowing that so many of their theories and speculations are true is just freaking AMAZING❤🤩
I love your podcast ! Without you I would never be able to make it till November 7.
Aww that means so much to us! Thank you!
I just finished my reread (I believe 4th or 5th total) and it's too early....😢

Fourth Wing, Fanfiction, and Formal 1! I knew I loved your podcast but I never knew all of my obsessions could be in 1 perfect podcast! 😄
Watching this now I am amazed at how much you two have predicted before reading Iron Flame especially about Xaden and his inntinsic abilities.

I just want so say this bring me so much joy and seriously cures my read hangover
1:07:35 distance welding is my guess. And maybe a third because I have thoughts about Vi’s dad’s connection to andrana, maybe giving her a third.

My new favorite podcast!!!😍
Now I need to see that special episode dissecting Cursed Child, because I feel the same as Lexi!!!

Like every dragon makes a second choice mentally so they know who might be good for them if their first choice fails.
hey! so here is a thing
what if Violet has a mind shield, something like Bella had in Twilight?
First - thank you so much! We love that you love the podcast!!
i really, really do not believe Xaden is an inntinnsic (and yes, partly because it's a horrible invasion of privacy almost putting him on paar with Dain, regardless of the differences in how they use those powers) - at least before the formation of his bond with Violet through their mated dragons, i think the scalp prickle thing could be explained as a product of Violet's paranoia about him (she was warned by Mira and Dain, and she knew who Xaden was), her intuition/7th sense (which developed to keep her alive at this high stress war college) and even her attraction to him and it was used as a tool for the readers to know that yes, big bad sworn enemy is watching her bcuz it makes him that much scarier and more ominous, the imminent threat of him looming over her. he knows a lot of things which he's not "meant" to know but i think it's because of his own very good intuition and "street smarts" (which is also what i think tairn meant when he warned him not to try to read him, and this intuition also contributes to Xaden's initial portrayal as this op untouchable character who's seemingly everywhere and knows everything) and his shadows, which can be everywhere at all times i. e. when he made the whole room dark at the outpost/his wall of shadow stopping the wyvern and he himself saying his shadows hear and see all; and to answer 36:45 we also know he doesn't need to be watching her for her to feel the prickle or for him to be keeping an eye on her still because remember when she drops her quill in battle brief and a shadow hands it to her but when she looks at Xaden he's just normally talking to Garrick? is it possible then that his shadows are a living thing with a mind of their own and he communicates with them and controls them but they have some form of autonomy too? this could be why she feels the prickle too, or why he seems to know everything that's going on
Balance of power- what if Andarna’s power will be something to do with finding the truth? Or knowledge since Violet is known for her intelligence. Hmmmm??? This is sending me down a rabbit hole
I have a theory on another stress that Xaden has about being bonded to Violet:
Firstly - the fact that he has taken on responsibility of the 107 marked kids saying if any of them are caught being disloyal to the nation, he will die, BUT is deeply involved in the rebellion and bringing those marked kids with him into it, says he's fine to die.
(Which makes me VERY worried about him potentially being offed at some point in the series!!)
I think in the moment of threshing he has that fear of HER dying or being weakened if he dies - he's fine with dying.
Maybe the dragon's names mean the signet for their last rider before they die.
Random question! What app do you use color on your iPad? Lol
It's called Happy Color!
@@fantasyfangirls thank you!
His abilities might be evolving as well...
Ok - Xaden on being chained to Violet. He is denying his feelings and trying to honor the bro code. She's Brennan's baby sister and bros don't mess around with the sisters of their bros. We know that Xaden, while having secrets, is an honorable man.
The reason there were no healers in the tent is because only riders are allowed on the flight field. Violet mentions that early on in threshing.
Death is balanced by life
Sawyers dragon means slice .... Kinda dark and twisted considering Iron Flame
The vale us her first home but outside it is her second home and she loves it and Violet soooo much.
So many questions!
bro lexi’s face right after nicole told her what amber’s dragon’s name is😂
I want to know how "recent" is recent.
This is also one of our biggest questions!!!
This is a huge question mark that I really need addressed.
I haddddd to throw in that we all collectively agree The Cursed Child is fanfic lol. It is NOT cannon, and I refuse to believe anything else. 😂
hahaha YESSS!
Speaking on Andarna and Violets bond being stronger than Tairns. Possibly Andarna could've done like an imprint via Twilight, and sees Violet as her mother. Therefore being more bonded than Tairn?
Is Xaden as winglider assigning Violet to the Archives???❤
I hate Cursed child too, thats soooo bad ffs🤬
Love you, girls, your energy is top!
Okay hear me out, what if the name of the dragon only matches the signets power of its rider when its its their 'destined rider'.
ohhh possibly!!
To me, the reason why two dragons don't usually bond one rider is the risk it causes. Tairn almost died when Naolin passed. Imagine having two giga chad dragons bonded to the same person and losing them both in one fell swoop.
Andarna is from the future!! I posted on your last video. She loves new home but not as much as her true home!
I think he learned control with the shadows first and then if he has a second signet it then manifested.
Ohhhh interesting! We're curious to know the timeline of this if they do have two signets!
with the whole signets and the dragons name linking.
She always went for wound attacks rather than de@th blows, so when she does eventually end up killing Jack, the line of "I hate how this changes ME" hits that much harder
and one more 1:27:01
I dont think this is what happened but it's a cool theory to think about. What if one of Andarna's parent's was Brennan's dragon and when Brennan died/was brought back his dragon died Andarna's other parent died to because they were mated.
‘For f**k sake’ is a phrase used very commonly in the U.K, to the point where people use it pretty much every single day 😅
Violet changed a lot during her first year. Dain went through first year. He's not the same person he was when they were beat friends.
I think she sees the tattoo through her eyes bc she is shorter. She would give her a better view
If Jessenia is the one scribing this story down on paper. Could it be that she just didn't put it in that she was deaf because it was just such a back of the mind thing for her?
Or I could call you violence like the wing leader does
Oh please, you know how much I hate him
Is that what you call it when your heart rate-
here it is again thank me later 32:52
