It wouldn't be a Twoset video without their faces being out of focus immediately
Its the classics
Fr 😂
Setuju 😆
Feel so sorry for editor-san

Brain: sharp.
Picture: blurry.
Classic composition literally and figuratively.
brain: sharp
picture: flat
the camera loves the background more than eddy and brett
"Do you know how war started? Someone picked up the viola" 😆
I would do anything so the wars would turn into the cringiest violin battles we've ever seen in pop culture
8:07 New wallpaper found
thanks for the idea. gonna steal that.
Fun fact: Today is Bach’s birthday, happy birthday Bach
Thank you for reminding me I almost forgot. Happy birthday Bach!
It's also Franz Joseph Haydn's birthday. You need 2 (set) cakes
Them: Always choose C!
A few minutes later:
Eddy doesn’t choose C..and loses…
2:32 when brett said "unleash the f-holes" i just imagined him on stage, preparing to play a big chord, and then little f-holes come scuttling out of every corner of the concert hall, attacking the audience members with their sharp legs and pointy little teeth, and when brett strikes the chord, they all do some kind of acoustic thing and his g major chord booms through the theatre, turning everyone almost deaf.
thats....something.
You have a pure clean mind

@@brandonstinson4988 More like TwoSet's tour manager xDD
@@yukiefromoz2573That's what I was looking for!
Suggestion to Editor San to place the options at the top in future, cos when you stop the vid to read them, the wording is then blocked by the symbols at the bottom of a YT screen! We're not all as knowledgeable as Brett & Eddy so need a bit more time. Also these options were not left up for long enough. Otherwise a great vid to see how much I know from my TwoSet & Olaf education!
Camera: i shall focus on their chairs
Love when Brett and Eddy nerd out about stuff, like when Brett talks about the wood used for the bow and he just throws his knowledge around!
What is the purpose of the f-holes?
So you can breathe in "Saranghae!"
LOL
Indeed, they forgot to mention this. Maybe their violins are not getting as much love these days 😥
LMAO 😂🤣
Small suggestion, it helps if you guys wear the violin anatomy TSA or hold your violin and point at each part, just to have a clearer picture of what you are talking about~
Brett and Eddy: where and why is X?
Us: WHAT is X?
Twoset’s knowledge is pretty impressive…I learn far more here than my violin lessons…
If that is the case a change of teachers is probaly a very good idea.
Prof Chen and Yang from the Twoset Academy are teaching us serious knowledge about violin with two CUTE LITTLE FIGURES on their heads!! Can I join the Twoset Academy since I got the headband too??
I'm looking forward to another podcast episode!!! ^^
they mentioned on IG, that they are ready fro the next episode:-)
Olaf should be here to test you guys with those questions, he definitely can go on and on about each of those questions😂 Or video chat with Olaf if there is episode two!! I feel like I got most of my violin anatomy knowledge from Olaf's video lol Bet he can teach all of us more details about violin anatomy!
Yep, my violin knowledge mostly comes from him. He did a good vid fairly recently specifically on violin parts!
They've gotta bring Olaf back
Your 'Ask a friend' would have to be Olaf (the violin maker)
I love how you made a whole series of videos in advance, to keep us entertained while you're in Europe. Thanks Eddy and Brett!
Great, fun, and educational videos as usual. One suggestion, the questions disappeared too fast when the camera changes view, I couldn't finish reading the questions and answers before the answers are revealed.
I'm really impressed at how far their knowledge goes 😮 I think I've learnt more watching Twoset than I actually have in music lessons 😅 also I've said it before and I'll say it again - those headbands are so adorable 💗
Il Cannone is a Guaneri del Gesù, not a Strad.🎻🎶🎵
Regarding catgut strings, I heard they were called that because a young sheep is known as a "kid". So the original term was probably more like "kitgut" or "kidgut". Somehow it morphed from "kit" to "cat" over the years.
You should have left the options up longer, give us a time to think. (but I got 60% right)
I love the goobers on their head
Violins a peace maker because there's no time for war if you're practicing! 😅
I don't play the violin, never even seen one irl but learning and trivial is fun, please do more of these! 😁
The order of the questions from A to D is throwing me off
Would be cool if you guys did Ling Ling workouts and violin charades again after the tour!
They’re always nerding out about violin knowledge, and I’m here for it!
I read somewhere that the scroll (or lion's head or whatever the end is made to be) is actually extremely important in terms of the accoustics. I read somewhere else that it has an effect on the balance of the weight. Don't remember my sources, though. Perhaps ask Olaf?
Yes, Olaf mentions this in one of his videos. It is something like the spiral shape allows the dissipation of waves of various frequencies to happen harmoniously. And for this reason, violins that have a lion head or something else in the place of the scroll, tend to over-resonate.
Not the camera going out of focus at soon as the video started 😭
Leave the choices visible so we can "think" along with them.
Brazilwood refers to a range of woods from Brazil, Pernambuco is one specific subtype
Seeing them wear their headbands makes me so excited to receive mine! 😻💖
I'm so glad my suspicion from the Christmas video was correct! 🥰✨🍊🐑✨
The handband merch is so cute!!! Would be better if it were cat ear-
Nya~~
Aww they’re matching headbands
Yayyy love the headband!!!
Happy to say I received my Chen and Yang headband yesterday.
you have good italian
Thank you for another educational video. I love how this episode made me learn about parts of the violin which I didn't even know existed before. Wish the questions and answers stay on screen for longer though because not being a violinist, I was completely lost and had to pause and go back multiple times.
Not me wear Chen & Yang headband right now watching the old vid and this vid pop-up btw the headband was super cute
I'm somewhat just a beginner violinist and this made me realize how little I knew about these things, thank you for this video XD
1536 - 1538 means roman empire was looooooong gone eddy lol
Yes, noticed that too 😊
I'm Brazilian and i didn't knew it was made of brazilwood. Very interesting actually
They really know a lot! But I wish they'd have slowed down a bit. I had to pause a few times to read the question and answers
me agreeing with brett and eddys guesses even though i don’t know anything about violin
The violin is the epitome of the design philosophy of style _and_ function. Every single part of the violin has its purpose. It only has to be as complex as it needs to be and no more. No single piece can perform efficiently without the other. And yet it has been expertly and meticulously crafted and combined to create an elegant instrument whose sound has captivated the hearts and imaginations of millions.
thx twoset for teaching us so much!! I wouldn’t be here literally and figuratively without them ❤
Wow, saving lives as well as creating musicians. Yours seems an understated comment but boy, that's so touching as well as mind blowing.... Glad you're still with us.... D'you play an instrument by any chance?
@@wakingtheworld yes I play the cello and clarinet, I’m also an ex pianist
@@chia_s_ee_d Well music nourishes the soul they say, so keeping that alive on one of your three instruments would be key! I do love the cello!
@@wakingtheworldeven tho music has healed me in soooo many ways, I haven’t rly had a great relation to it, my mum is a piano teacher so I was forced into doing that at age 4, I was actually quite good at it and regret quitting although it wasn’t my choice and I only quit because of gymnastics which I also hated and did it semi professionally. I started cello at 6 and despised it for the first 5 yrs im slowly learning to regain my love for it and to unlearn the bad habits my old teacher placed in me. Thankfully tho to Brett and Eddy (and Hilary Hahn) I enjoy classical music very much and listen to it all the time!❤
@@chia_s_ee_d Kids being forced to do what they don't like, eh. My 1st ex wanted our daughter to learn piano and she did quite well but the passion wasn't there.... and that's key imo: We have to do what gives us a buzz & makes us want to jump out of bed each day. Those who truly love their job don't see it as 'work' cos it lights their eyes, nourishes their being. Sadly many people don't fit in this category!
”羊” 和 ”橙”好可爱😊❤
对啊!好可爱呀!🥰☺
Eddy: I forgot it was a competition *proceeds to continue helping Brett*
I'm Brazilian, I'm learning violin and I love watching your videos!
For us in Brazil, Brazilwood is called Pau Brasil and Pernambuco is another kind of wood, called Pernambuco. They are two different types.
Hey Twoset
I am a 14 year old boy violinist from Illinois. I love watching your content, I recently switched from viola to violin just 2 years ago, I am now playing the Seitz Violin Concerto, Schindler's List, and Beethoven 5.
I have just recently, about 5-6 months ago got a violin teacher to guide me, and you two are motivating me to practice everyday (even if my fingers bleed) and so I can become the best ling ling I could be. to make my favorite UA-camrs proud. If you could someday watch the video that I made about the Bach chaconne, and my Seitz that I am working on, that would make me smile the most. Keep creating content, you truly motivate me through dark practice rooms.
Hey twoset!! Please come to India🥺🥺....
lots of indian food you know~~~~
(Saw your stories)😏😏
PERNAMBUCO MENTIONED!
I'm from São Paulo, but that was unexpected
Coming from a non-English speaking country and not knowing what half of these terms mean...
Pernambuco??? Mano nem imaginava ahsadhskahdk Parabéns, Brasil!
Why do I always end up being late to watch a twoset vid?
Thank you for the subtitles! Please do add them to all your videos 😊
Actually, I quite enjoyed this episode. Thank you both, my Lovelies! Have an awesome Sunday! Sending warm hugs. 🫂💕💯🎻🎻🥰🥰
I want "Unleash the f-holes" printed on my next t-shirt. 😄
Q: What is the purpose of the eye of the frog
Brett, without mising a beat: To *watch you p r a c t i c e*
The purfling does both guys. That joint at the corner would be very weak indeed without it.
happy, because brett won🥳
Yes, bow video, please!!!
me, a pianist: *nervous laughing whenever they say "it's pretty obvious"*
better to keep the questions and answers displayed during their thoughts until their answers?
I am so impressed with you guys, not just pretty faces ;)
i wanted to just point out that twoset havent done ling ling 40hrs in a VERY LONG time 😢😮
I didn't know that in English it was called "frog"! LOL
In Italian is "nasetto" which, literally translated, would be "little nose" or "little cute nose".
omg Brett & Eddy culturizing us
Pls make Roman Kim do the LingLing Workout
Il Canonne is a Guarneri del Gesu. Hilary Hahn used to play on a copy of it made by Vuillaume.
Why is B and C in each others' places? xD
It's the blurr. When the camera is focusing Brett is at Eddy's right side. A known Twoset setup
@@xandraxandra1437 I meant the answers. Usually the top right is answer B and bottom left is C :D
@chillmagpie I have to learn how to read... sorry! I'm with you on the B and C, they are wrong.
@@xandraxandra1437 😁💚
Can't believe how much you guys taught me, tthanks to those luthier videos somehow I couldn't answer only 2 questions..
Brett wins!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Learnt Soo much love nerding over violin facts ❤❤❤
As far as i know its called a frog because in the early days they would bind the hair on the bow with some Kind of contraption. Sometimes though it would Release it spontaniously and the thing would jump of the bow like a frog. Hope the Story is right
As a Brazilian, I can explain the difference: Pernambuco is a subtype of Brazilwood typically found in the Pernambuco state.
Brett and Eddy 2024:
"war ends when they bring in a violin.
war starts when you get a VIOLA"
LMAO
🤣🤣🤣
I made an educated guess about Cremona from Whispers Of The Heart.
You heard it folks… Two Set Invented the violin! Don’t worry their only a couple hundred years old
Great video! Very educational
I think this should be two set out of focus mouhahahah. Great video. keep them coming.
TIL My country is famous for bow wood. Actually Pernambuco is a Northeast Brazilian State, probably its from where the wood comes from
I am a trumpeter. the only thing you need to know is how to clean the spit valve and how to oil the keys…and how to play… 😅
A violin teacher once told me it's called the frog because it used to jump away on older bows that didn't have a modern tightening mechanism yet
I still need those headbands..
The sheep/goat and orange on their head bands is based on their surnames. (Brett) Yang in Mandarin means sheep/goat and (Eddy) Chen in Mandarin means orange
I am brazilian and I didn't know it the wood was called Pernambuco wood :O for us it's just Pau-Brasil
Try sight reading while wearing each other’s glasses
I love their vids man
yes, love being educated by Brett and Eddy. want one on the bow
Oh wow...
Naming violins IS normal.
Mine was Desdemona because she was a fickle b but it wasn't her it was me.
TWOSET WITH AN UPLOADDDDD
I literally opened youtube to put on some lofi in the background while i study theory but then I watched a Twoset video. Shame on me.
Aparetly I know more about violins then I thought I did.
Hi twoset ! Love your videos .
Interesting quiz! Nice!
Those lion-headed violins are cute! Also personally like the tattooed ones!
thanks I have learning a lot! I was able to get a lot of the answers right! watched too many tsv video and Olaf's video.
