    The guy on the radio from the tower @ 9:30 had such an awesome personality as an air traffic control guy. MOST of them are so boring so it was really cool to hear him have some flair when talking with pilots. Congrats to the JR Aviation boys and their new toy ! Proud of you guys !

      Yes agreed. I would also watch these CHTs, they do not seem that level on the monitor even at low throttle / RPM. I have an SR20 G2 and put the GAMI injectors. A small investment that pays off, especially for LOP cruising

    This Cirrus looks like it was a good purchase. Everything seems to be in great shape minus the liner and some cosmetic work on the outside. Looks like a winner to me. And hats off to Owen for flying her back home!

    These guys are awesome! It’s a very smart idea to have a guy like Owen start you off and learn flying techniques from a quality pilot. Genius move on their part to jump in when they are young and patiently develop into being A+ pilots which is what you want. Too many people rush the pilots license. Great job guys, looking forward to more content like this! Thanks!!!!!

    Dear Bros,
    This 2002 Cirrus Design Corp SR20 looks (and seems to fly) amazingly well so I think it’s a good investment to sell the plane after it got new registration stickers and got a nice polish cleaning. Knowing your guys a bit better in the meantime you’ll let the engine shining as well plus the plane will get a complete service check. Wish you lots of success with all your ongoing projects and look forward to next vlog plus I send you love from the Netherlands

    If the CAPS inspection isn’t due for another 8-9 years, definitely a good buy. Replacement parachutes are super expensive and back-ordered at Cirrus. Also if you’re doing paint, Cirrus is very specific with the type and color of paint due to the temperature limitations of the composite.

    • @usernogo
      @usernogo 9 місяців тому

      So true. I wish them a lot of great time on the plane. Very good possible that it is a G1 model, so no direct access to the parachute and that means several days downtime and a lot of working hours and redoing the structure and paint professionally. That adds to the costs. This would be the second repacking and there should be some more years left for it do meet the ten year limit for repacking. As far as I remember there is a shorter six year intervall of the line cutters. Anyhow, wish them a great time with their new plane.

    Funny you mentioned Ted Turner. Years ago I was a skydiver out of Walterboro, Sc. Mr Turner would fly into there to get to one of his plantations near by. Well they were leaving as we closed up for the day and someone left the dome light on and killed the battery in his plane. He came over and asked the owner if he could get a ride to Frogmore. The owner said sure and we opened the hanger and rolled out a stripped 182 getting ready for new paint. No seats except the pilot seat no headliner. You should have seen his eyes. 😂 he asked if it was homemade! We got him a folding lawn chair! The owner said he was very appreciative and paid him well.

    All the glass in the panel made this an awesome buy, by itself. No one mentioned how many hours on the engine, so because of low price & hidden engine hours, I'm guessing high-time motor. I agree that's not a deal-breaker on its own. If flown often, and regular oil changes, should be good for 3K hours.
    BUT!!! What's your deal with no pre-buy inspections? And it doesn't seem like you did very much of any inspection of your own, except a test drive. Borescopes and compression gauges are cheap.

      Yes they are crazy. You do not buy a plane and fly it across the country without a per-purchase inspection. If a car breaks down on a drive home you can pull to the side of the road. If a wing falls off you can pull over to the crash site. Buying planes sight unseen is the stupidest thing you can do in aviation.

      @bravejango12 9 місяців тому

      @@alaskafan21 can you link to the part of the video where they state they had a pre buy inspection done? I can’t seem to find it. I found where they “non pilots/ non certified aircraft mechanics” went through the log books. And where they “non pilots/ non certified aircraft mechanics” went on a “test flight”. But I couldn’t seem to find the section where they talk about the plane being gutted by a certified mechanic for the pre buy inspection.
      In case you are wondering why the concern. I’m a former Air Traffic Controller and my brother is a certified aircraft mechanic. I have worked planes that fell out of the sky because they hadn’t had their annuals kept up to date or were purchased without an inspection.
      The reason those things are done is because failure to do so has life ending consequences.

  • @vicentefuentes67
    @vicentefuentes67 9 місяців тому +2

    One problem with the Cirrus is its unforgiving handling compared to other basic four-seaters. For pilots accustomed to learning about an impending stall by feeling reduced airloads on the flight controls, the Cirrus provides much less stall warning. This is due to spring cartridges that continue to resist flight control movement even when the airplane is not moving. Cirrus Design will continue to lure pilots into situations that are beyond what reasonable skill level and human attention can be expected to handle. . . Be warned Cirrus pilots. You are at more risk than you may know. Get some good training on that plane. Take care and God bless you.

      Dan, you don't get to use the term "professional purchase procedure" here. No pre-buy inspection from a licensed mechanic, none of their own, and taking off on a 1500 mile cross country? That's the definition of a non-professional purchase. And to show that behavior to the public.....

    Less than an old 172?
    172s can be picked up around 60k, 120k+ if well-kept with nice upgrades. The poor fellow selling the Cirrus must have been in a financial bind, I mean, I hope that isn't the case but makes one wonder.
