Greetings from Wales! Clear concise video. I was looking for a simple run down of how this unit works and you provided it for me. I cannot believe you've not got more subscribers. Keep up the good work man. Sweet Jackson by the way!
Question about delay tails in Zoom G3Xn - theres an option to put tails ON, but does those delay tails will stay if you change patch from "delayed" to clean? Or changing patch will instantly kill all delay tails? It was a major drawback for me at old G3X - I sold it.
I have a g3x before. And one thing that frustrates me is I when using a volume pedal, you can’t rearrange it to example before the delay pedal. Is it the same with this model? Great informative review by the way thanks
Thanks for your response. I really appreciate it. Anyway I just read the g3xn's manual and it has a "PDL Vol" pedal, that G3 doesn't have, which means I can put it anywhere in the effects chain.
I'm a metal/bues guy .....should i get the zoom g3n? line 6 m5? or just pedals?I have a Blackstar Id:core which takes pedals well, so i'm considering this....how does it compare to individual pedals? I'm only interested in the fx and not the amp modeling....I'm interested in mainly chorus and overdrives and distortions? would this suit me the best or should I get individual pedals?
Nice demo, the unit sounds great! I have the G3 on my main board which I use for modulation effects. I'm thinking about picking up the G3n to construct a mini grab-n-go pedal board. However it looks like when scrolling between effects in a patch, there's a slight delay. In your opinion, do you think that could get in the way during a live gigging situation? Thanks!
Conor Lee Glad you liked the review! In my opinion I didn't really notice any delay. Virtually all multi fx units have some slight (im talking milliseconds) delay between patches but in a live situation, noone will notice!
Choosing between the Zoom and the Boss GT-1 is really difficult. If you don't mind me asking, what are the differences between them? And which do you prefer sound-wise? Did you try them both with headphones, cause that's how I would use it a lot. From what I've watched on YT the Zoom sounds pretty amazing, but a bit less 'bright' compared to the Boss which makes the Boss sound maybe a bit artificial so I'm curious to hear someones opinion who actually played them both. Thanks for the great video's!
patfix Personally for me, the Boss GT1 just pips it, i thought the amp sounds were a bit more natural. The Zoom was a bit over the top for me. But, it was very close!
Hi. I'am planning to buy this one and I'm new when it comes to Multi Effects, Been using analog effects for so long. I was just wondering. Is it possible to cover the Intro's of pardon and nice to know you by incubus using this? Sorry if my question is stupid. Hahaha TIA, btw Great review and playing.
I purchase this Zoom G3Xn but to my great disappointment I found out that there is no way to use the "Volume pedal" as a master volume for the G3Xn witch for me is an impossible gearbox to use in live contest. imagine that when I switch from one patch (acoustic patch) to another(solo patch) and I have my volume pedal half way down it almost broken the speaker and went on feedback because when I switched it raise the volume to the original patch volume with several decibel louder than it should be. I will returned back to the shop. I was not so impressed of the sound as well, notice that I use today the Zoom G2.1u witch sounds ok but is to sharp on the top frequencies especially on the Acoustic simulation. :(
Thanks what's the USB Audio used for? and is the extra 50 patch storage worth $50 more.? and can the expression pedal be used as just a wah? These are completely different animals from the Line 6 M9-M13 right. Thanks again.
The USB Audio allows you to use the G5 as an audio interface with computer recording software, something you cannot do with the G3n or G3Xn. Yes, these are quite different to the M9 or M13. The expression pedal can be used for all sorts, not just wah.
Ferry Gunawan If you want usb recording, get the g3x but they are now discontinued so you will have to find a used one. If you are not bothered with recording, go for the newer g3xn
At last, a product review for the Zoom G3Xn. Nice review! By the way, is it true that the Zoom G3Xn is much cheaper than the Zoom G3X when it first came out?
Thanks for the comments, the original RRP on the G3X was £169, so pretty much the same. But, when the G3 first came out (before the G3X was launched), the RRP on that was about £189!
It doesn't come with any software as you cannot use this as an audio interface. There is a free Zoom Guitar Lab software download available which allows you to download new amps/effects ect and manage your patches.
That's correct, using the USB connection, you can update firmware, download patches and manage patches using the Guitar Lab software. But not use the USB as an audio interface.
when you connected into fx return the cab sims is on or off ? or maybe the cab sims is on but the mic is off ? plese tell me the best way into fx return
Atharva Dave Its a matter of personal taste but personally i would go with the Zoom. It has loads of great sounds, definitely more to offer than the Boss (which is gettin on a bit now!)
OrkSmegga That's awesome, man. thank you for replying. could you also take a pre-existing patch , for example "Jimi" and add an effect like wah to it?
That's a really tough one! They are both superb units, although the Boss probably beats the Zoom slightly by having a longer warranty and the fact you can use it as an interface which you can't with the Zoom. But close, very close!
Unfortunately you cant use it as an interface like you could with the old g3 and g3x. This is one of the downsides of the unit. If you have a interface you can plug the g3xn into that. The old versions, yes you could but out of the new ones, only the G5 has audio interface capabilities. Check the specs on the website here.... www.zoom-uk.com/products/guitar-bass-effects/guitar/zoom-g3xn-multi-effects-processor
Dhaval Pandya I am the manager of a music shop in the UK, I ship items world wide. I have this unit in stock now. Send me a message using this link with your address and Ill get you a shipping quote..... www.soundsgreatmusic.com/pages/contact-us
Depends if you want to get into computer recording and using an interface, if so, go for the G3x as the G3Xn does not have USB audio interface capabilities. If you are only looking at the sounds, go for the newer G3Xn.
OrkSmeggaimho, the interface part is something Zoom hasn't developed further- I mean they're too lazy to upload updates, when OS upgrades, they got left behind (my experience with Zoom G2.1 & Zoom B3). so better for them not to include it if they cannot commit a software team to back it up.
Gautham Ranjit The G5n is the bigger brother to the g3xn. it uses the same techology but has more footswitches, more effects at once and you can use it as an interface, so the g5n is better but more expensive.
jomari YT Unfortunately you cant use it as an interface like you could with the old g3 and g3x. This is one of the downsides of the unit. If you have a interface you can plug the g3xn into that.

Check the specs on the website here.... www.zoom-uk.com/products/guitar-bass-effects/guitar/zoom-g3xn-multi-effects-processor You will see that both the G3n and G3Xn do not have USB audio.
Guitar Dude well that solves that boss gt1 for me less to hookup and when I travel I like to record songs on my daw I can't log my amp and taking my scarlet interface is just more stuff to lug around
Wish it didnt have any amp models or distortions.....at least one third of the effects are these and finding a useable is near impossible for me.....most of the other effects are decent.....highly recommended
GUYS PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I am really confused between zoom G3XN OR GT-1... Please state your views and help me out to choose the correct one so that I dont regret.
I just purchased this and I am unable to update the firmware or add extracted patches to the Patch Library within their interface (Zoom's G5xn video is limited). It would be appreciated if you could create a video about adding patches and doing firmware updates for this model - content, content, content :) I think Zoom could've also included a USB cable without significantly affecting their production costs... you can read a detailed description of the firmware issue and Zoom's vapid reply here: ua-cam.com/video/IwB0Fs3cUhM/v-deo.html
Perfect review. Just the right amount of talk, and right riffs for the examples.

Thanks man! More subs would always be good!
really helpful review, thanks for answering everyones questions, they answered mine!
Sam Oppedisano No worries!
Great video and nice playing. Cheers for popping this up! Helped me decide to order one 😀
If you used an ordinary pickup and ordinary amp, will the G3XN still be sound great?
I really liked the first sound! What was it?

Hi. Is this good for recording an album ? Is the sound pure and deep enough for a high quality result, recorded ? Thx.

Can I change overdrive effect into any other sound directly without loosing time while programming
056 metal is awesome man need this pedal i own the 707 and a 505 but this is much more updated sound i play heavy stuff and some cleans

Are these all the factory presets love the metal sound from zoom
Yes all factory presets!
zoom g3xn has a master volume knob....can u tell?

2:37 Saxon Wheels Of Steel riff. Love it. How's the patch switching while playing, any latency? I got the Line 6 Firehawk and it's horrible.
Thanks for the demo brother. 🎼🎸🎶🎵
Why do I have an echo on all of my presets? It's super annoying.
Thank you! Great playing 😎
Cheers!

You can but you have to set it to the default pedal in all patches.
is the G5 it's big brother or something older and different. Or is the G3Xn the same but newer and updated? thanks.
The Zoom G3Xn, G3n and G5n are all brand new redesigned pedals. The G5 is now discontinued and replaced by the G5n.

does the g5n have any features over the g3xn? other than the extra foot switches?
Amadi Ography They both use the same software for the tones etc but you can also use the g5n as an audio interface
Do you just step on expression pedal to activate wah
Jake Thomson Yep, just stomp on it like a regular wah.
would been nice to see the software / pc interface it comes with

OrkSmegga thanks a lot
Does it have a looper?
Sam Oppedisano Hi! Yes it has a looper.
OrkSmegga thanks so much for answering twice! Can this operate as an amp head? As in, can i run this into a speaker cabinet
@@samoppedisano3994 it needs to be a powered speaker

OrkSmegga thanks mate
zoom
Good question
I prefer boss me25
Can you do a simple wah pedal effect with the expression pedal?
Hi Chad, yes you can :)
OrkSmegga That's awesome, man. thank you for replying. could you also take a pre-existing patch , for example "Jimi" and add an effect like wah to it?
Yes you can!
love that pedal but i read that the usb is not for recording is that true?
petros isihos That's true, only the g5 has usb recording.
oh thank u my friend....i was ready to buy it but now i change my mind .so sad
All you have to do is connect through your audio interface... which I prefer over usb
OrkSmegga I suggest you use an external audio interface
which one is better boss gt1 or zoom g3xn?

Charles M Nope. Only with the G5n
Is there a direct out option available like the previous model?
Dhaval Pandya Yes it does, and you can have cabinet emulation on or off. Perfect for plugging into an amp or PA.
I'm looking to purchase a G3x very soon, the G3xn isn't yet available in my country. Should I wait for it?

does it work with batteries?

well that solves my dilemma, g3x it is
thanks for the reply
What amp or speaker are you playing through?
guero1422 I ran it onto the FX return of a Laney Cub 12R

drums and looper are functionally useless they can only be use in active patch you create.
