  • In my final video looking at my set up for the Silk Road Mountain Race I go through my bike and bag set up. I’ve been running a full suspension set up all year now and in my view this is the perfect bike for this kind of race.

    Will you do a video on what worked and what you would ditch if you were to ride the SRMR again

      Yes I am planning on a video to review all of the kit that I took and what worked and what didn't work. Just waiting on a few things first then I'll get that recorded.

      Tread Lite Gear was the company. Seems like it’s one guy making them to order.

    Very interested to find out how you enjoy the BC40. I have the Mason Raw which I love but I’m thinking full sus. I’m missing the traction of the full sus and now that some of them have more frame space it looks like they’re a good fit for just about everything offroad these days???? Did you buy it in the UK? Mind me asking who from?

      Hi there Robin, in short it's incredible. I've done 4 races on it now this year (Dales Divide, Trans Balkans, Dorset Divide and Silk Road). I never once thought I was on the wrong bike. And it's that quick downhill it allowed me to get the KoM on the Kegiti Descent on Silk Road :-) Over the next couple of years we will see more and more riders switch to full sus for these kinds of events. And I think the BC40 is one of the best of these kind of bikes out there. The traction is incredible but where it really shines is going down.
      I got it in Dubai, the dealer out there is a friend of mine.

      Super helpful thank you. I’m going to pull the trigger on the frame this eve (will assemble with the gear I have on the Mason). It’s interesting what you say about never being on the wrong bike. I rarely have this feeling myself. As much as anything else… the BC40 looks a lot of fun 🙏

    Imagine you carry water on your back. But no bottle of any sort on the bike?

    • @TurnCycling
      @TurnCycling  10 місяців тому

      No, try to avoid water bottles when off road. Plus there's no space with the full frame bag

    So far I’ve missed first episode Electronics,
    2sd sleeping kit, 3rd clothes, this episode is about bike kit (will watch later).
    Can’t wait for #5 Episode, « Crash course in Russian », on the assumption that you’ll come across Kirghiz people who speak Russian, not a given and

      All the previous episodes are available on my channel to catch up on. Hope you enjoy them. But I have both Kyrgyz and Russian translation files downloaded to my phone 🤣

    Who are you? In none of your videos do you say who you are.....and nothing in the "about" tab on your youtube page....who are you?
