A close friend of mine started to unravel mentally and decided to go through with a " Gender reconstruction surgery". After have spent half of his lifesavings to become a her, he realized that he made a huge mistake, from which there was no return. He pretty much had his penis removed and replaced with what he later described as an open wound that would get infected all the time. He could barely walk at times. He ended up putting a gun in his mouth and pulling the trigger. These people need professional help, not enabling.
Yeah, sure Jan. Stop spreading lies because of outliers that you looked up and try to pretend it's your story. Stats show that suicide decreases with transitioning. Your story has so many confounding variables it's ridiculous. People from all walks of life take their own lives. Your bigotry and transphobia is gross.

I still don’t understand how one needs medications and surgeries to be his/her authentic selves . This identity stuff comes down to appearance and presentation, and how others perceive you. So basically if others don’t see you the way you see yourself, you need to change yourself?
Appearance and presentation are important, of course, but it's more important to feel comfortable when you're alone. Those who only need to be seen as male/female by society do not undergo any surgeries
At age 6, i wanted to be just like my brother. I even cut my hair like a boy. I was a big time boy and always wanted to be around guys. Just because we have moments as children where we feel we want to be the opposite sex, does not indicate or mean we were born in the wrong body. There is no such thing as that. If a person was meant to be a boy, they would’ve been a boy. I’m now in my 30s and looking back, if i was that 6 year old girl living in this time, i probably would’ve been corrupted to think i wanted to be a full blown boy. Society is ill & its goal is to disrupt clarity and understanding of one self because the more confused humans are, the more we’re able to be controlled and swayed. Society has lost its way. There are VERYYYYYYYY few people who i believe are true transgender. Today it’s just a bunch of extremely traumatized people who have identity issues that consider themselves to be trans. I am a social worker and a mental health therapist and i say firmly that transgenderism is a mental health issue and it doesn’t make it wrong or bad. It just is.
I was a “Tom boy” growing up. I wanted to do everything the guys did. Guys clothes were more comfortable. How ever, I never thought of myself as a boy. That is different.
Charles Friscia, I have to agree with you completely. And trans people don't have to prove their existence because we hear about them every day. She's a cute "he" but it doesn't change the fact she's a sick female.
Elliot is in a position where he can’t admit that the transition did not make him happy. He is forcing smiles but you can still see his deep depression.
That's not a him. It's a sad her. It doesn't matter how you change the outside of yourself you can't change everything inside. She's ruined her body and life.
Theres nothing wrong with transgender people. Its not a mental disorder. Imagine you would wake up as a woman and realise: wait wtf im not a man. Would you say you'll just live like that even tho you are way happier as a man or would you choose to be a man again? Our way of thinking has nothing to do with our body. Most people can adapt to their body but some people can't so they change who they are. I have no fckng idea why people like you are so... like I cant even find a word for how stupid your reactions are. No ones telling you you have to be trans, trans people just want to be seen as who they are and want to live like everyone else. Trans rights are human rights! I hope you'll get that one day...
Elliot Page is going to scoop up all those leading roles for odd-looking, androgynous, depressed persons. Maybe they're making a sequel to 'It's Pat!'.
You never know what some people are going through. Some of y'all really need more compassion, put culture politics to the side & try to listen to others as human beings. Even if you don't understand another persons path in life, we all deserve to be shown dignity and the right to live our own lives how we see fit.

Nobody is celebrating anything. In fact, they are expressing their pity for what this lady has had to go through in the name of correcting her gender. And whoever lied to her that she is a man and went ahead to encourage her to mutilate herself is a criminal that should be locked up forever in the pits of hell.
See but he is talking about clothing. It’s OK to not like dresses and heels. You said specifically you wanted to wear jeans and a western Tshirt. That means you wanted to be comfortable, not that you’d rather wear a tux because you felt like a man. You just didn’t want to wear heels and a tight dress. A lot of women don’t.
No offense but if wearing a dress degrades you or dehumanize you, you need to grow a spine. Kurt Cobain and Kid Cudi wore a dress in one of their perfomances. I consider an actor an artist, so if that made you uncomfortable, you need a new trade honey

I mean I don't really get it. But each to their own. I never had any gender dysphoria. Liked boys clothes and girls clothes and same with activities. So Im comfortable in my sex and gender. I cannot imagine what it must be like.
don't worry, this person doesn't have any gender dysphoria either. a snippet from her book "We crept in, whispering, and sped into a stall, looking at each other with mischievous smirks. Lips smacking, he put this hand on my breasts, my nipples grew hard..." then she cuts her boobs off claiming it "cured" the dysphoria. it's all public stunt and she's doing harm to real transsexual people by appropriating their culture and by advertising harmful trans agenda, advocates for kids to be involved into this.
Me neither but I don't know if encouraging people to change themselves entirely is the answer. It's a very permanent thing to erase the identity you had and become someone totally different and many people don't even get a psych eval before being given hormones or blockers and I'm sorry but they are using inclusivity as an excuse to push a money making agenda and a lot of people are going to be screwed up because of it. Sure, it's the right road for some people but this has turned into a trend. If someone is confused they can easily be pushed into believing they are trans and need to change themselves and that's dangerous. I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable in their own skin but I feel like we are sending the wrong message here and making people think it's okay to erase yourself. We all have things about ourselves we don't like and learning to accept the good and the bad is part of life so I have a hard time understanding how this is healthy but I am still learning about all of this too.
its torture - you go to a mirror expecting a face and a body shape and while you know what you will look at once you see yourself in the mirror its also always a surprise... a negative one at that. you lean on a wall and depending on what gender you are and what sex you are, you may be horrified to notice that your head wont reach the wall that you lean on because youre shoulders are so wide or in the reverse that your head reaches it so incredibly soon. you go to the toilet and expecting to pee with a certain type of genitals but either you feel mutilated because the expected penis is missing, or you feel like some cancerous object is growing in the zone that is most precious to the human individuals. either way its hard to start peeing, especially when you are in public... when starting to transition after puberty (not having been given the opportunity to use puberty-blockers - and not having been given the opportunity to socially transition) it can be kind of a worse feeling that being given the diagnosis of a terminal disease. with a terminal disease, you have the opportunity of hope that the life living with this disease may still be worth living, and you may surpass your expiry date. but being trans... you have no opportunity, no support from anyone and not even hope to get back what you have lost: your missed out childhood - its in the past. its already been demolished. its gone for good. its gone. there is no return. there is nothing you can do to make the pain of having lost the most important part of your life go away. its like a fever-dream that has become your reality, and you will never ever be able to wake up from it. your lifes history is pure garbage. all of youre memories of the past are pain and suffering. but the worst part can be the following: because you live in a society that wants to see your kind being extinguished you have little hope for the future (you have - especially for certain things - but other aspects can overshadow this hope). you will always have to live in fear that someone may come after you. you always have to live in fear that you may be terminated from this cursed hell that everyone calls reality. Its a pure nightmare that has gone waaaayyyy too far but has become your actual life. this at least captures a small part of how i feel about myself - there are people out there that probably have it much, much worse than i do. the only thing that makes this nightmare become managable, is to transition - it makes you feel good about your present - it makes you feel be in sync with yourself. hrt at least has done that for me - i hope that surgeries that i have planned will make my life worth living - i cant even have sex as of now as i actually fear just the thought of doing that with my current body - it would feel sooo wrong! i may only lose my virginity in a few years from now after i got bottom surgery. im really looking forward to that :)

Such evil people with pronouns in their bios, truly a horrendous cult overcoming the world. Grammar or (verbal, political) changes must also be very scary and heartbreaking.
@jeffersonkeith8761 it was a joke not a valid argument. A valid argument would be she has a vagina and tities that have been removed as well as being a tiny woman who calls herself a man...
I have seen woman having slightly masculine behaviour, Man with faminine behaviour..and thats completely normal but the problem is when they confuse their behaviour with their gender and gets their body mutilated, Just to realise later that there wasn't any problem in the first place.😢

Apparently when it comes to Elliot Page, everyone suddenly turns into happiness detectors. Maybe, your nasty comments are the main reason why he might seem to bear a sadness beneath his happy demeanor.
Your comment is pretty nasty. You’re blaming others for a the lack of happiness and policing their opinions. You aren’t righteous or superior. You’re full of smug, virtue signaling self righteousness. Your comment shaming others was made for your own benefit. You’ve helped no one. No one’s life is better. You’ve contributed nothing.

If Eliotts happiness is based on the acceptance of people who don't even know Elliott, then Eliott is NEVER gonna be happy. It's not my responsibility to affirm someone's delusion. I'm curious about some thing. Donald tRump lost in 2020 but his followers really believe he won..... Is it a "nasty comment" to say he lost? Or is it honest that we say what's the truth and leave it up to them to deal with the repercussions of their delusion?
I read the book and it's incredible disjointed and in my opinion also not well written. Each chapter is like its own essay and topics keep changing and morphing in and out of each other. Elliot has so many friends and they just keep talking about so many of them I just felt like dang, I've never had hundreds of friends like that, how do they have THAT MANY FRIENDS? And I couldn't keep track of them all. They didn't really go deeply into their feelings except to say over and over the very generic stuff about wanting to wear boy clothes or play with boy toys. That's kind of it. This title says "opens up" and I did not feel like we found out anything they have not already mentioned in interviews. The memoir also is NOT about "coming out as trans". It doesn't make an intimate journey into how Elliot started to feel initially, when they realized they were not a girl, why they chose acting as a profession since it is so extremely body focused. He asks why everyone is obsessed with his body, but the entire book is ABOUT HIS BODY. There are a lot of words in the book but very little said. He got paid 3 million dollars to tell us something generic, and not allow us to really understand anything more about him and his journey. I feel there are so many questions and Elliot is not ready or willing to answer them. Not worth buying but check it out from a library if you're curious. I bought it and feel like I just didn't learn anything about Elliot I didn't already know.

I am so tired of people trying to decide how Elliot feels FOR him. The only reason y'all are concerned about how he feels is because you're so badly trying to spin this in a transphobic light. You want an excuse to misgender him and deny him his autonomy when it's literalllyyyyy not any of your business. You know why he isn't grinning and smiling during this? It's because he's having to remember and talk about his DYSPHORIA THAT WAS EVEN WORSE WHEN HE WAS PRESENTING AS A CIS WOMAN. He wasn't happy! If this was me I wouldn't be happy either talking about it, I wouldn't be happy knowing hundreds of people out there would force me to detransition if it were up to them. I was miserable as a woman. I hated it SO much and I feel LEAGUES better as a man. Being trans was the best thing for me. I love being on testosterone and I've been waiting years to get top surgery. But we don't have to prove our feelings to anyone. Elliot doesn't owe anyone anything and if he says he's trans, then he is. Dysphoria is absolutely awful and if any of you actually knew what it felt like then maybe you'd understand even a smidge better without trying to downplay every single trans person out there who doesn't present or behave the way you want.
👍👏 Well said Toby! Good for you for speaking out & telling a bit of your courageous story. I'm Trans too, it's just galling when these highly ignorant hetero/cis-gendered ppl pass judgments on us. Demonize us. Using only THEIR lived experience as a cis person to try figure us out.🙄 Then tell us that it's nothing; "well, it's just clothes!" Or, " I was a tomboy too, but I grew out of it." Thankfully, my parents didn't care about my wearing "boys" clothes when I was a kid, so I did. My hair was short on my insistence too. When I was 9yrs old a teacher at school said for the next day's class recital, all the boys had to wear pants & the girls had to wear a dress or skirt. My heart sank. I was so shocked & devastated with the thought that I had to wear a dress to school. (This was 1978) I was a wreck & absolutely miserable for the rest of the day, night & on to the next morning; "D" day, I thought. Putting my one & only never worn skirt on, I walked out to the bus. It was excruciating! I felt SO humiliated. It felt so WRONG! I couldn't look at anyone when I got on the bus, I wanted to die. And, to top it all off the kids poked fun at me for wearing a dress! Hell, even they knew it wasn't right for me! When I arrived at school I learned the event was canceled, & I raced into the bathroom with my backpack & pulled out my blue jeans. I couldn't get that f*ck'n skirt off fast enough! (I'm in my 50s now, & let me tell you, I haven't worn a skirt or dress since that horrible experience!) Time magazine and other media calls Elliot a “pioneer” but I can’t imagine anything more detrimental to the trans movement as someone so obviously confused and uncomfortable about the choices they made. Maybe I’m just close minded but it seems like it’s more important for people to feel comfortable and accepting of their own skin than trying to change who they are at a core level. Yes? Because you want to be addressed and seen like the real you without people trying to guess?

It just is.

Would you say you'll just live like that even tho you are way happier as a man or would you choose to be a man again? Our way of thinking has nothing to do with our body.

Depth of pain for being an actress asked to wear a dress to a premier. The epitome of spoiled. Now? Career stop. And looks the same.

Using only THEIR lived experience as a cis person to try figure us out.🙄 Then tell us that it's nothing; "well, it's just clothes!" Or, " I was a tomboy too, but I grew out of it."
Thankfully, my parents didn't care about my wearing "boys" clothes when I was a kid, so I did. My hair was short on my insistence too.
When I was 9yrs old a teacher at school said for the next day's class recital, all the boys had to wear pants & the girls had to wear a dress or skirt. My heart sank. I was so shocked & devastated with the thought that I had to wear a dress to school. (This was 1978)
I was a wreck & absolutely miserable for the rest of the day, night & on to the next morning; "D" day, I thought.
(I'm in my 50s now, & let me tell you, I haven't worn a skirt or dress since that horrible experience!)

Ok let me explain. You probably feel like this is a trend or something, but its not. People who dont feel like the gender they are born as were always there. But in the past you couldn't talk abt that since people didnt know that these people really have a problem (dont get me wrong, its not like they are mentally ill, they are just unhappy). And today you can talk abt who you really are and how you feel like
Also there was this sliiiight and worrying fact that you were gonna get killed for how you felt
"I will only see myself as complete if I go through permanent surgical alterations" is not the reasoning of a healthy mind.
She looks weird.
maybe because "she" is a he?
You can’t be complete being half…half “man” half woman….
Transitioning is like traveling outside of the village boundaries into the woods to find freedom only to get eaten by a pack of wolves.
Nice quote!
Love this analogy, so vivid and apt
This poor girl needs help, I remember her in Inception. It’s terrible what Hollywood does to people and the worship of Baphomet.
I hope she gets the help she needs. God bless.
Theres nothing wrong with transgender people i have no fckng idea why people like you are so... like I cant even find a word for how stupid your reactions are. No ones telling you you have to be trans, trans people just want to be seen as who they are and want to live like everyone else. Trans rights are human rights! I hope you'll get that one day...
what help?! Are you going to change her back for her. Ellion is GONE! we DO not know who this is
@@SeanArmoMIEZAH clearly something is off with her health. Hope she gets the help she needs.
She was one beautiful girl, now she has messed up her looks n will regret it soon
как раз из-за этого она и поменяла пол, чтобы не чувствовать себя униженной
I liked Ellen and I like Elliot. It will take him time to find himself but I honest to God hope that he will. I understand that it is hard to believe that which is advocated very openly and very non-stop. But folks, please remember that our society used to believe that homosexuality was people being "bored" or a "fetish" or something else. We learned more about that with time. We just now are learning more about gender dysphoria and that it isn't the same as being a tomboy or tomgirl.
FINALLY, A SANE AND WELL-INFORMED PERSON SPEAKING WHO DOES NOT FEEL ATTACKED BY SOMEONE MAKING AUTONOMOUS DECISIONS!!!
I don't see happiness there at all. And I feel the extension of that when hearing about the mother.
How to ruin your career...
There is no hate like christian love
one of the most beautiful woman on the big screen! this makes me so sad.... i feel like they are mind controlling these people
1:15 oh no the horror, you were asked to wear a dress and heels. If i was making the kind of money that these actors make I'd wear a burlap sack at the premier if thats what they wanted. There are people starving to death and being murdered, this really isn't that big of an "issue"
1st world problems...
That being said, Page was traumatized by growing up in an unstable family and working in Hollyweird, a place full of toxic, predatory people since she was a child. I can´t laugh or hate on her because it´s such a tragic story.
I saw this person in an interview when it was a girl, and she at the time seemed so much happier, looked so much happier had a beautiful aura. Now this new person is sad, depressed, looks miserable and has a dull aura. I wonder if this person is paid propaganda
Probably
Wearing a dress is a f-ing job uniform. Ellen was cute. Many liked her as an actress. That's why they asked hear to wear cute clothes. To earn more with her, and so she would earn more.
Show up, wear a uniform, smile, do what job requires you to do to do to earn money, go home and wear what ever you like.
If you don't agree, then look at all other people that have to wear uniforms for a job and smile for customers all day. Not fun. But its a job.
To me this all comes down to becoming spoiled and self centered. and in the end, it's sad.
Well said
"Actress Ellen Page recently admitted to self-harming herself and hearing a voice telling her she is transgender before she contacted"
Why are you discussing this interview, when she already announced she made this because of voices?
we used to lock people in asylums rather than let them mutilate themselves like this that poor woman look at what she did to herself
i'm sorry are you advocating for locking people in asylums or
@@mah-rokhan6171 yes i absolutely am saying instead of letting them mutilate themselves lock them away
@@jackcogi9586 so there's corporations letting chemicals get into your water and food and poisoning the air you breathe, but the person you want to lock up is somebody who never did anything to you. And also you would rather they go back to hurting and starving themselves than being comfortable in their body. Weird set of priorities...
@@mah-rokhan6171 im not for companies either i'd rather she get help real mental health help rather than paraded on tv looking absolutely awful and people calling it brave being mentally ill and mutilating yourself ins't brave its insane the poor girl needs to be in therapy
@@jackcogi9586 ofc you thought he looked better with a fake smile plastered on and an eating disorder so bad it required professional treatment. i think i'd be annoyed too if people like you kept misgendering me. also, has been in therapy for years, if you're gonna advocate for someone being locked up at least bother to keep up with the situation
Fast forward 2 years and she’s divorced, looks like she’s got one foot in the grave, and cannot even make eye contact with people. Oh right, everyone who tried to save her from herself were “transphobic”. 😂
They were divorced before any medical or public transition
happier then ever? you look like you wanna cry. I feel bad for you I hoped that people that do what you did truely believed in their heart it was for the best but you look like you have regrets :( not good for the face of this transition.
No “man” would ever be taken serious with that voice and muscular mass
you would know my man

Jussie Smollett here lol what a joke making that up to sell books
I hope she doesn't kill herself, it looks like that's what's gonna happen.
I'm betting on it honestly. And she will be far from the last one
I think too. God bless her soul.
She says that she asked her mother at the age of 6: Can I be a boy? As if this question was sufficient evidence for her to destroy herself after decades... I also asked my mother at the same age: Can I be Superman?
Love you Elliot. Will always stand by you. The people in these comments are shameful and disappointing.
If you really care for her/him, you would try to see this situation through the lens of reality rather than validating delusions.
Gender dysphoria is a very rare disorder, when every other liberal person suddenly decides they belong to the opposite gender, it does look fishy.
@@hui975 What are you even on about? Please do some genuine research and talk to certified doctors. You give the same vibes of “well it wasn’t heard of until recently” as if science and diagnosis don’t improve with time. Words for certain diagnosis don’t exist right off the bat yknow. They are studied and developed based on evidence. Gender dysphoria and trans people have always been around there just wasn’t a lot of research on the topic back in those days due to ignorance like yours
The only thing shameful is the people validating this psychosis.

Crocodile tears much? Maybe you never truly liked that person to begin with, but that's my assumption.
Jesus Christ, what has Hollywood done to this woman?
It's obvious that this person doesn't have a clue about what being a male really means.
You don't either
Time magazine and other media calls Elliot a “pioneer” but I can’t imagine anything more detrimental to the trans movement as someone so obviously confused and uncomfortable about the choices they made. Maybe I’m just close minded but it seems like it’s more important for people to feel comfortable and accepting of their own skin than trying to change who they are at a core level. I would feel about gender transition the same way I would feel if a black man tried changing their skin white, it’s a shame and overlooking the part of the problem that consists of people loving themselves and being proud of who they are
But what if a person don't like and wouldn't like their own skin they didn't asked for? Is the problem with identity (a female person claims to be a man and vice versa) or with cross-dressing (which isn't 100% a trans thing even)?
@@АлексейТабаков-ы8вThose people need to see a therapist
I can’t ever understand it as I’m a women and love being one… the whole cutting the breast of and taking hormones just doesn’t sit with me no matter what you will technically never be a male while yes she was so pretty as a women it’s a shame she/he wasn’t happy in the body
It's not your life to understand. You don't have to understand. Let people live how they want, it's not that difficult.
