Such a great video! I'm so glad UA-cam recommended I watch it. As an actor in training and someone who wants to basically follow in her footsteps, I've learnt so much from this! Having and maintaining a good relationship with your manager/agent. Getting back to them asap! I think that's just a common courtesy, but it also shows how committed and dedicated you are to your career and making it work. Just keeping on going and being willing to learn, but mostly being able to trust your instincts and having a small but very trustworthy group around you to ensure you're doing the roles that you want to do and that speak to you, and being able to find people to work with that share your values, interest, passions and work ethic, but also being willing to learn, grow, adapt and change with the character and the script. Also having the drive, determination and commitment to make it work in the first place when you hear so many no's. From others I've spoken to in the industry, it gets really disheartening, so you've really got to want it, and be prepared to do whatever it takes to make it happen, i.e. long hours, travelling, not being able to see family and friends as much, etc. If you truly love it and can't think of anything else you'd rather be doing, then absolutely go for it and enjoy the journey along the way.
One great thing Jennifer Lawerence said is to "watch and listen" for common instinct being used while someone is being emotional and apply it. This kind of advice can be useful for several individuals who want to turn to acting as a career. Me personally I just usually say the first thoughts that pop into my mind. I'm a SAG pensioner, been in the biz many years, JLaws acting talent comes along once in a blue moon, not since 1978, The Deer Hunter, Meryl Streep...the truly amazing thing is that she's a better "human being" than she is an actress...! Impossible to compute.
Jennifer said about her acting technique, that when she thinks about a situation, the emotions associated with that situation arise inside her automatically. Jennifer does not even have to play a role because she becomes the character of the role. One example: When she talked about Mockingjay part 2 she said, "Katniss has gotten emotionally numb as an effect of what happened to Peeta, but at the end when she sees Buttercup searching for Prim... " Jennifer's voice begins to tremble "...she realizes she can feel again." Jennifer nearly began to cry on remembering Prim getting burned alive. When Jennifer envisions in her mind the scene of Prim burning to death, she becomes Katniss again. Another, stronger example [warning: SPOILER]: During the scene In "mother!", where her baby gets eaten by a group of intruders, her character panics. Jennifer could not snap out of the scene and remained the character (in panic) for an extended period, requiring medical emergency help to calm down, leave her role and become Jennifer again. Gladly, this was the only time ever that Jennifer could not leave her role immediately by choice of her mind. Whatever happens in a script - Jennifer's mind makes it reality for her. The audience can perceive the authenticity of her emotional expression, and is therefore mesmerized. I doubt that in future there will ever come an actor as good as her, for her talent is unique.
I honestly like everything Jennifer said . I can't choose one thing that stands out . I simply love and adore her overall vibe and spirit . She's bold and raw and she is living proof that fortune really does favour the brave .

The thing about treating her work as her business and respecting it and not being like 'oh I'm an artist I don't care I missed that script'...that really caught my attention.. replying to every email and calling the agent back to inquire about all the work offers and just being at it cause she's come so far, invested so much of herself in this business..

For me, if I just separate myself as a fan, to be fair and unbiased...it was really what she didn't say & how she didn't say it. All she said in these interviews, you will find in advices that any & all successful & great people, have to offer for success....BUT SHE,... staying on top of it all,... stays real in her DO's & not the dont's, & makes it all sound so easy...yes I know I can do that...is how she makes us feel, ... But for a time now I work more than 80 hours a week. and I feel that life is getting out of balance, because I want also spent time with the whole family, being more healthy because these long hours are Not do-able and yet make an impact on the world without destroying my family/kids relationship which I value very high.
