Loooove that box! Your blending is perfection. And the whole process of the steer ........ wow! I really like the look of the patinas. Awesome projects! Thank you!
I love the way you layer your projects. I havent seen anyone else with your eye for using different products in unexpected ways. I have never been a fan of transfers because I just dont like my stuff to look like everyone else's with the same old prints or stamps being used over and over. You use some of those same old transfers and stamps, but your pieces are so unique. You are a true artist. Thanks for the beautiful boho inspiration!
Thank you so much for your kind words! I just keep going until I’m happy with how it turns out. I rarely have a solid plan. I find mixing and matching products does make my piece unique though. I, like you, want that.
I actually prefer brush marks. I like it when things feel “hand painted” vs factory finish. That’s my taste though. It’s great that we each get to do it how we like. That’s the beauty of DIY.
I love your projects. I’m believe the blue that you got unexpectedly is from not shaking or mixing up the crinoline paint. I’ve seen blue in the bottle before and once mixed up well it’s gone.
Love seeing the layers or layering process by creators! I have had the same thing happen with salt wash before. I thought I may have just gotten so "crumbs" of dried paint in my project or something. Now, I am curious about this. I also thought maybe I spilled some crumbs into my salt wash. I have only had it happen when using DIY White Swan and DIY crinoline or sandy blonde. I can't remember which one exactly. If you learn anything about it, please let us know. Thank you for sharing all your ideas with us! Thank you for all the inspiration!
Melissa... I have experienced the blue/turquoise like specs after laying down saltwash. The paints that I mainly use are: DIY, Dixie Belle, Eye Love Hue and Miss Lillian's. I have mixed saltwash with all 4 of those paints (I always make sure to mix well) and I have only seen those blue/turquoise specks when mixing with DIY lighter colored paints.
When I want to follow a tutorial to try myself, I usually gather my supplies (in the description of the video), put the video on, and play/pause through the entire process. I think I have one Serendipity deco paper tube. It has the steer large for furniture, then the floral and smaller steer head used in this video:
I love how you put things together! You are so, so talented and your ability to use up scraps is amazing! I have SO many and it seems like nothing goes together... Wish I had your eye! ❤
I think it’s just having belief in the end result. I literally just keep going, balancing it out as I go. I add until I’m happy alternating color and typography, until the space is full.
You never disappoint Melissa! It seems like everything you touch turns to gold in my eyes 😍! Thanks for keeping it real and love the bugs, floral and the perfect saying for the metal box.
I loved all three of your projects, Melissa‼️ The way you layer all of your products is absolutely breathtaking 😍 Thank you for using the yellow patina spray. I wasn't sure if I wanted to order it or not because I hadn't seen anyone use it yet ❤
Thanks for this video. You always teach me something new. I would not have thought to dab/paint on the patina activator. It's in a spray bottle, it should be sprayed, right?! LOL!
I love the patina but that paint is way too expensive. I'm trying to learn to do similar with cheap paint. I've done a few pieces that turned out pretty nice.
I understand your feeling. It goes a long way, and has shaved metal, which is why it reacts the way it does. If you have the skill to recreate, that’s amazing. Sometimes people don’t.
Absolutely GORGEOUS projects
Thank you so much!
All I can say about the one with the cow is Wow!!!
Thank you!! I love playing with the rust patinas!
Everything was beautiful ❤
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words!
Love the bugs,i think it makes it!
Me too! It’s my favorite part of the box!
I loved all of it! The bugs were great!
Thank you! Honestly, it was my favorite part of the box!
You're such an artist, just love everything you do!
Thank you for the kind words! It’s very appreciated!
The file box is stunning ❤
Thank you! 🥰 I appreciate the kind words!
Love the bugs!
Thank you! Me too! They are adorable and add a whimsical charm, I think.

Thank you! I love playing with the patinas. The look is very realistic because of the metal, in the paint, that reacts.
Always love your projects
😊
Thank you so much! I appreciate the kind words! 🥰
Amazing!!!
thank you!
Absolutely love this!!
Very good tutorial thank you
Thank you so much for the kind words! 🥰
I love the bugs all is beautiful ❤
Thank you! It’s honestly my favorite part of this project!

These came out beautiful 😍
Thank you!
Love the file box! Everything turned out lovely!
Oh yes!!! This style is great! I have rust effects paste and had no clue what it looks like 😅 Excited to see that there is chalk paste! ❤
It’s very gritty and there are 3 or 4 different colors. This was the red rust patina.
I love the box! Very surprised at your second project. I wasn’t so sure until the end, and I love how it turned out.
Hahaha. Like many of my projects, it’s a hot mess until it’s finished!
I just got some
of the Patina spray and iron paint from Dixie Bell! Can’t wait to try it out! Love-Love-Love all the layering! ❤
Thank you so much! I love the patina sprays! I have a bunch of plans for them.
The blue filing cabinet is nice. I prefer prepping first and using a brush that doesn’t show brush marks.

I’m getting similar comments, so I’m guessing it must be reacting to the clay, and lighter pigments.

That’s very interesting! It must be the clay then. Either way, when it was all dry, I didn’t see it at all.
The steer art is amazing! I love the use of layers but not sure how to achieve it.

Thank you for the kind words! I appreciate you watching and sharing with me!
I love how you said "I am not Brushed by Brandy" 😂 I literally have said the same exact thing when teaching on of my classes 🤣
She is freaking fantastic. Her work is precise. That’s not me.
@@VintageBeeDesignI agree and same here... I am not out for perfection ❤
You could have saved the sunflower by putting it with something else to cover the part missing or just used the parts that were still good.
I could have, but it wasn’t the look I wanted.
That’s what I would’ve done. Too expensive to waste. Lol

This was my first time using it. I really like the results! I have some fall projects planned for them!

Lol. Isn’t it funny how the bottle has us programmed as to how to use it?
@VintageBeeDesign I'm always glad to watch really creative people because they think outside the box...or bottle, as it were! Ha!
I adore this case!
Melissa? Can stamps fit in these 12x12 envelopes? It sure is hard finding a way to store all these various craft supplies!
Yes! I store my stamps in a 12x12 scrapbook album, but they will definitely fit in these pockets.
@@VintageBeeDesign do you have a link for the album!

@@VintageBeeDesign I don't know that I have the skill because it's not easy and I'm not always getting it quite right.
Love the bugs!
