    I had a xaiomi m365pro, loved it. It got nicked. I then bought this. It's on a different level, it's awesome. The speed is great. It's so light and folds away compact too, literally perfect. Breaks are fine, when you combine both brakes it's decent enough. Although if a rear brake kit comes out (been told it will), I will fit that.

    The actual specs on the battery pack are _super_ hard to find: 13S3P 54.6V peak ("48.0V nominal") Samsung 35E, and the scooter specs claim 504Wh (3500mA 3.7V nom), but the battery pack sticker says 477Wh (3350mA 3.65V nom)

      alex The 2019 Etwow Booster Sport Monster is lighter faster, less charge time and takes up less space than the GT 2020. Only advantage of the GT 2020 was strong motor for uphill, distance and a kick stand and crappy hand brake. Etwow ran out of stock on the Monster so gave me the GT 2020 for the same price as the Monster which was 300 less than the GT 2020. It’s a good deal but I rather have the Monster. I only wanted an e scooter for when I needed to post mail to the post box 📦 which is only a few hundred yards away from my house. Other than that I won’t even use it. Good job they gave me discount cuz 900 bucks doesn’t seem worth it.

      @@childlover4091 I've had it up to 27mph on the flat so far, that's on the scooters speedo though, goes uphill OK too, I was torn between this or a mercane wide wheel pro, chose the etwow as it weighs about half as much.

      The handlebar looks really short :-/ E-wheels says it's 15 inches wide vs 21-26 inches for most other scooters. Do you find that it makes it difficult to control? I was considering this model but seeing Micah with his hands so close together is making me reconsider, I'd love to hear from someone who has one.

  • @DanFrederiksen
    @DanFrederiksen 5 років тому +2

    Low diameter plays to electric motors' inherent strength in rpm. Having the power allows it enough regen to skip mechanical brakes. Reasonably light and foldable. Airless tires so there is no bs. It's an intelligent design. It's pretty much how I would do it and I very rarely say that about anything. I might get this to bring in my plane to get from airstrips into civilization.
    Tesla should get rid of rear mechanical brakes too. Individual power on rear and brakes only on front is a very good combination for a zippy car. Optimization is king.

    I own one of these (accept its the 500 watt model) and they are absolutely the best for final mile needs - BTW you guys missed the directions for how to kickstand it !?! = you release the fold pin and have it partially folded so the bottom of the deck goes flat on the ground and holds it up - C’mon guys!!?? - only down side to these is there’s no way these can claim more than 12/14 miles on a charge for a normal man of 150+ lbs. -im 170 lb. and i have to be perfectly efficient to get 10mi out of mine ( i do have hills here in LA but still ) -their mileage stat is not for grown adults -i assume they did mileage stats based on flat terrain for maybe like 140lb person -

      You're right and I've tried that but it's just a more finicky way to do it than with a kickstand. You have to manipulate the locking lever while also pushing on the handlebars... you're right that it definitely works, but I just prefer the simplicity of a kickstand.

      The 500 w model has a smaller battery. It has a 10.5Ah battery with 36 V. That makes 36x10.5=378 Wh energy. The GT has a 48V battery pack. 10.5x48=504Wh energy. Not to mention that is charges to 54V. The GT has an excellent range, any 150-160lbs person can easily count on a 20 mile ride with 20-30% battery reserve remained on a flat urban environment.

      @@MartinMurphy01 The Kugoo S1 is a clone (wait for it) of the e.twow scooter. It is behind it in every single aspect and so the sum of all things is a low quality scooter. No, they are not the same. The GT has a 48V system (charges to 54V actually) and that means it has twice the energy than the Kugoo S1. 48x10.5=504 Wh 36x7.5=270 Wh and then I didn't count the quality of the batteries which is crap in a 250$ scooter. I say have fun with it, but do not think that you have a 1000$ scooter for $250. (I just mention that a 700W motor has twice the engine brake power than a 350w motor). Do your research and you'll see the difference. Also the tires on the etwow have air pockets while a Kugoo does not have such thing... The list just goes one.... Martin Murphy I am sorry, but it is like saying a Kia is the same as a Mercedes. They both have four wheels, basically the same engine, the seats are not much different either... Yet the Merc cost three times as much, it is crazy! Well, it is your choice. Etwow-s has the best reliability among scooters, the Kugoo has the reputation of being junk. I know they look the same. They are not. I really think you should try it for yourself. On the other hand the etwow only make sense if you need to pick up that scooter a lot... @@dandobre7482 You need a licence plate for these. A very small one. And you must have the needed paperwork (Allgemeine Betriebserlaubnis), a General operation allowance, at hand. That's specified in the "Elektrokleinstfahrzeugeverordnung". Otherwise you get fined and the vehicle gets confiscated. There is a law called "Pflichtversicherungsgesetz" and if you drive without an insurance, you get in jail because of insurance fraud. Thie License plate for these is not like the ones used on Cars and big motorcycles, its a visible sign that you habe an insurance. Ant every year the get an other color. It cyles throu black, blue and green. This year is it black. Also for small motorcycles with a max speed of 28mph you need this kind of license plate. Just google Mopedkennzeichen to get a look. The ones used on the e scooters looks similar bit are a quarter of the size. But you can drive an e scooter at an age of 14 or older without a driver's license. Its germany. Everything is regulated by government...

      is there a speed limit for non electric bikes?

    • @JDCarnin
      @JDCarnin 4 роки тому

      @@dandobre7482 Actually not. You can drive as fast a you can. Even if you drive faster than the speed limit for cars. No one will get you in trouble. But even with an e-bike you are limited to 25kmh/15mph. Otherwise, you guessed it, you need a licence plate. The same as for the e scooters or small motorcycles. And then its only allowed to go 45kmh/27mph or you need to license them as a medium motorcycle. And then you are in the need to show them every two years to a certificated mechanic (the TÜV it means Technischer Überprüfungsverein, its the equivalent to the DMV I think) and get a new safety license. An the ones with a thumb throttle are illegal.

      If you don’t care about the weight and size then yep, I’d go with a Apollo or emove or evolve or zero or Kaabo or Mercane but for light weight and portability it’s this or Unagi or Gotrax and that makes it a easy decision.

    The sccoter is garbage, trust me. I have had 3 scooters from Etwow, they all break eventually and might get you 1000 miles ($1 per mile, not worth it in my book. If you ride them steady, the fast 25mph goes to 19mph and then might just shut down on you, I've had many different things happen with these scooters and had to ship it to CA to get it fixed about 5 times, they finally replaced the scooter and the replacement was not better. Many design flaws, the rear tail light is basically designed to sever the wire every time to fold it, so stupid. Happened on all 3 scooters within just a few weeks. The worst part about it is the company itself, Scott Morris sells these things and then wont pick up the phone or reply to an email, he is if you can believe it, worse than the actual scooters themself. I could go on and on.... the guy is a wuss and the sccoter is garbage unless you like getting stranded and then left with no scooter at all. they take about 2 months to turn around a repair and then it breaks again within a week, it's a joke and they had me going for about 2 years. Dont fall for this ridiculous review of a brand new scooter, ride it for a few weeks and then see what you think, its trash, it will break down, parts will break and oh yeah, it opened up on me 2 times, going 20+ mph and there i go, sliding across the pavement, ripped up my clothes and had road rash all over, it was awesome!!. These guys should be put in jail for selling these things, they are a total liability. I bought a go trax, goes only 15 mph but it works, it's tough, you can rideit in the rain, its only $350 vs $1000. dont waste your money and dont risk your life but #1 do not buy this scooter!

    I tried this scooter, its too responsive, and the handle bars are not solid due to folding mechanism. Because of this they move about an feel cheap. Apart ffom that its very fast an light. Ul be lucky to get 12miles out of it. Definitely not worth £1000.

    Once again :) Etwow scooters don't need a kickstand as they partially fold, kneel down and stand that way. That's what clever engineering is, that is how it is intended to be used, very far away from being a design flaw.

    • @_Digitalguy
      @_Digitalguy 5 років тому +2

      That’s why the new GT 2020 has a kickstand, in addition to a mechanical brake....

    • @hhy2k
      @hhy2k 5 років тому

      Digitalguy You can be serious thinking that the kickstand is an invention previously was not thought about. The kickstand is unnecessary for this scooter. I have one, so I know. The same can be said about extra brakes. You get what you ask for and what laws require as the scooter sceene gets bigger. I think both "improvement" means butchering the original etwow design principles.

    • @_Digitalguy
      @_Digitalguy 5 років тому +2

      @@hhy2k Well we can agree not to agree. The kickstand is much more convenient way of resting the scooter for quick moments than partially folding it. For instance I do use it all the time when I go to the supermarket with my etwow. As for the brake, I didn't feel the need to have one for my old 2015 master (at that time there was not option anyway) and not even for my 2017 superbooster (the brake option started to appear then), the rear break is enough for those... But with the monster speed I started riding on roads with cars, and that's where I felt the need to add hand brake, in addition to the electric and the foot brake. Do I use it often? No, but the few emergency times where I have used it it has almost saved my life.... Also it avoids wearing the rear tire....And the new GT brake is much improved since it uses a similar tire to the "comfort" tires of 2019

    • @hhy2k
      @hhy2k 5 років тому

      Digitalguy I still think it is an afterthought. The 700w motor has really strong brake effect. Having a thumb brake the same side as a pull brake is useless. It is either or. You can't operate both and with the pull brake you will lock the rear wheels in an emergency (making the roller uncontrollable) while you loose the braking effekt of the front wheels. It will not stop much faster in my opinion unless you are ready to use it all the time. May be the lever operates the engine brake as well as is the case at other scooters, will see.... Sure, in tight places 40 kmh is too much for the GT, there you are right. You need to be able to plan ahead.

    • @_Digitalguy
      @_Digitalguy 5 років тому +1

      @@hhy2k I agree with you on the side, it's bad. That's why I had mine installed on the right side... And yes, it skids if you brake hard, but it stops you, and again it does not wear the tire.... There is always a compromise, but a least the brake does not remove the other braking options, and it only adds a little bit of weight.... which is not a big deal...
