Happy to report Roy Thomas is still around and will have a Conan story in the next issue of Savage Sword. With De La Torre on pencils. Should be a very interesting read! Glad to hear Red Sonja #1 was worth the read!
Fabulous video, Steve. Much mirth and enjoyment. Thank you!
Congratulations for a fabulous Cimmerian September presentation, Steve. Greetings from Sumerian Mesopotamia.
Interesting to note the influence Howard's Sonya and Dark Agnes had on CL Moore and her Jirel of Joiry, which are really fun reads as well.
Always happy to see Red Sonja. I think there were 6 books done by the same team. I have #5 Against The Prince of Hell and enjoyed that too 😊
I happen to be reading the Niebelungenlied with my wife at nights right now, and the Icelandic princess Brunhild (Wagner changed the story, so don't get confused by his Ring Cycle) is one of the überwomen you refer to, however she is able to defeat all male suitors, including her own husband-to-be King Gunther, until Gunther's sidekick Siegfried manages to physically control her on the battlefield and in bed (chastely) with the help of his invisibility cloak. Then, as arranged, Gunther takes credit for defeating her, which breaks her spirit, marries her, and consummates the marriage. Aloha, Pohaku Nezami.
Only able to work 22 hours a day? Is that what you call losing a step?
