@@daviddeming1916 Jay was still a fantastic drummer who when he joined the band helped rejuvenate them after Joey had left and they’d just come off there worst run of shows ever on 2013. The new energy they’re showing live now isn’t just because of Eloy. They’re celebrating 25 years and have a new stage and new masks etc I’m almost certain the energy would have been the same with Jay . People acting like he was a poor drummer

I've seen Slipknot 3 times and I thought I never wanted to see them live again, but I was wrong. I want to see Slipknot in 2024. Thank you Eloy for showing the whole world how important it is for a band to have a good drummer and how this values a band in all aspects.

@@GabrielLimaGuitar ah yes he had his moments of sloppiness for sure, I think he was a big drinker and had some quite bad performances as a result. His 2008 Download (Pro-shot live video available) is flawless but then around 2011 he was pretty bad at times. I don't think he could have handled Slipknot nowadays with how fat he got eventually too. Jay was rough though, time keeping and messy fills every performance.

Gotta love how Eloy plays Jay's parts with very minimal finesse even though he could complicate them and shred on them to a ridiculous level if he wanted to. To me, shows he respects Jay as a drummer (even though Eloy is obviously technically superior by far).
Hes just respectful and im sure he knows hes levels above jay its just a nice thing to do plus playing jays songs vs joeys songs is much easier and he can relax

Eu penso que os caras fazem na raça os controles, o Meshuggah faz isso praticamente todo show, com combinações bem mais complexas e sempre na raça, o operador de luz deles é monstro

3:18 the way Eloy accentuates the vocals instead of doing the straight original beat, gives that part way more hype . They are even matching the lighting to that, such a creative drummer
(there is a lot more throughout the show but another example in 40:54 the cymbals on "six six six")

Proud to say this was my first Slipknot concert, and I don't regret a second of it. Easily my favorite concert so far! 🤘
I'm proud to say my first and second Slipknot shows were with Joey and Paul still being in the band. They sound really fucking good right now and I can't wait for them to come back to Finland!

When a drummer rushes the tempos it can take the groove out of metal. Faster doesn’t ever mean better. Plus solid consistent, powerful double bass with not needing to resort to Tom fills is a sign you made the right choice in a new drummer
I see people praising Eloy and saying that the whole band became better with him, he certainly gave the band a boost, but, let's face it, this is a band with incredible musicians and a market vision that broke the media bubble. Corey, James, Mick and others are exemplary musicians. You don't need to disparage the group to praise a member. Long live Slipknot.
I think it is just the thing that he is new and that because of him the band sounds like before in the great era…he is an awesome drummer, maybe the best metal drummer now, that’s why he is so hyped up. But ofc they are all great musicians❤

I got emotional it's no crying at Slipknot but the emotions that are in the music I feel it and I listen to them every day of my life I couldn't believe i was breathing the same air as them they were right in front of me it was unreal one of the best times of my life!!!!🤟🖤🤘

Like if you watch shows from the past few years before 2024, they aren’t mic’d and you literally can’t hear them! Even in parts where they are prominent like the intro to The Blister Exists, they were just silent.

It’s impossible to play the drums for this guys without being fuc*ing talented, im not raging at Jay but I listen to eloy, jay and then Eloy again playing the same songs and the diference is actually scary. Eloy drums sounds so clean and the tempo is amazing not to say about the energy. Jay rushed so much sometimes that the songs got messed up, the sounds of the instruments kind that miss some parts, the guitars couldn’t finish the notes, u know what im trying to say? Theres a point when u rush to much that u can’t even finish the notes and fills and etc and when u listen is just a mess u can’t identify what is going on and then it comes back and you realise whats going on. You know what im saying?
