@RingerThomas ok I must admit I love modern harmonic tuning but some old school bells do have a bucket load of character, and in many ways the typical English village seems much better with the older bells. Have you ever visited Dedham in Essex, they are total unringable due to the tower, I believe the 8 ropes attach to the clappers so possible to chime out change ringing. I findxit sad, how nice to pull them out and retune and use else where then install a really light 8 or 6. I always feel sad to see bells not rung anymore.
