None of this is 1944 footage. Good to see and very clear, thanks for sharing, but your information is all screwed up. All dates obviously provided in that sequences clearly indicate 1941 and so do uniforms and vehicles.
You are right, most of the movie does not correspond to Hungary in 1944. At the beginning, at 8.08 minutes - «Vor der panzerschlacht Raseiniai» which means: The Tank Battle near Raseiniai (Raseiniai is a Сity in Lithuania, which the USSR occupied in 1939). It was June, 1941. The Soviet Army was retreating.

Perhaps the first few minutes with half-tracks and other armour were from 1944 countryside outside of Budapest, but the rest of this is older footage far away from Hungary on the Eastern Front. Some good footage, but disappointing given the title.
I think that the time may be more earlier than 1944 acording to their vehicles or their equipments and uniforms.

It is the 6th pz div, in latvia 1941, read the captions. Only pz div with 35(t), even the battlefield is identified for you by the captions, Raseiniai, not to mention Riga!
My Latvian friend told me how CIVILISED were the German occupation troops - AFTER THEY HAD EXPERIENCED RUSSIANS IN 1939!

Budapest 1944? Why do you call this video that? The titles for the respective episodes are there. The beginning of the footage shows the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.
2:07 love this style of epic cinematic music really captures the scope and the stakes at play during this unbelievably insane all out combat showdowns between the 2 most significant military powers of the time. A time of course when tank warfare was brand new and being revolutionized in real time on the battlefield. The number of soldiers involved in the combat then on the eastern front is hard to grasp and comprehend, I find it endlessly intriguing and very much enjoy being able to experience these types of documentary footage being shown and analysed and explained. Just wish we had original film footage of all historic events and ages, imagine how insane it would be to actuallt watch on video some of the most significant events and eras that have collectivelt shaped the human story and experience up to the present day🧐👀🤯👏💯

Mostly about the German obsession with a "heldentodt"(glorious death). By this time the war was lost-adding a few hundred thousands to the death/casualty roles made zero sense. Carrying on the fight also cause tens of thousands of civian casualties...for what purpose?
The Germans did that, but by the end of the war, there were far more surrenders in the tens of thousands and hundreds of thousands than the beginning of the war where that obsession was more fervent. The Japanese on the other hand, died to the last man.

Scot, you don’t have any experience in archival footage, which is understandable, but please don’t comment on ignorance without asking questions first. This timer is built into the stock footage, the distributor baked this timer into the footage, there is no removal of a timer if it’s already been added. There is no current technology available to remove a title without cropping the entire Lower half out of the footage. The date and location is also not wrong, the description and titles are all from the video archive, meaning, the ones who actually own this footage.
