Great sounding Detroit! Probably the best sounding Detroit powered fire truck around! Can you please do a 15-20 minute driving video of your truck? I really want to hear more of this awesome Detroit! Please do it for me ASAP. Please let me know ASAP.
I rember riding in a firetruck with my dad. We were transporting it. Exhaust was rotten off. Two weeks later i was still hearing it. Think it had a 6v71
@@Ohio_FireGroundPhotography can you please do some super long driving videos on your rig? I really want to hear that Detroit screaming!! Please let me know ASAP.
Thank the government and planned obsolescence teaming up with the increasingly superficial sensibilities of the market. The old L9000 dump truck we had in town would have outlived the new ones if it wasn't for the incessant bugman complaining to replace it: "I need muh power steer, gibs me muh syncromesh, I am dying without muh a/c, muh too much noise, muh too much shifting cuz I can't lug it like muh cummins pickemup, I need muh world record pace power, muh it's old so it sukz d00d."
I believe that the main reason fire trucks used to run Detroits is that reliable sirens had not been invented.
......... Yes
Yep
My old rescue truck was a 91 pierce with a 6v92. Loved the sound of it. Miss that truck.

This is EXACTLY what a MCI over the road coach from the 80s would sound like if it lost its muffler....the exhaust notes are DEAD ON accurate.
I own a 86 MCI lol it's a beautiful sound
I remember travelling by Greyhound Bus across Canada to this sound over 30 years ago!
I used ride in a 1982 Pierce tanker Detroit diesel. This brings back memories me being a firefighter
I could listen to that all day
Nothing like the sound of a Detroit Diesel engine
That engine has a DEMON IN IT!!! HELL YEAH!!!
dang thats a nice rig you got there sounds great
I've been looking for a ride along video of Detroit diesel for a long time. Thank you for posting. Love it! 👍👌
That radio head is ancient!!
This is a very sinister sounding monster!!!

America baby!
Let em kno, Jake
What is that engine. Sounds posesd. Like there is a demon in the engine
Abe Coulter Detroit 6v92. It's a v6 two stroke diesel 92 cubic inches per cylinder.
Of course there is demon...
The louder the better.
General Motors Detroit Diesel V-6 Cylinder 2Stroke! 552 cu-in Displacement. By the Way: The Demon is known as Screamin`Jimmy! Greez from Switzerland.
Abe Coulter It’s a 2 stroke Detroit of course it’s pissed. Funny I have a few vids but none compare to how sinister this beast sounds
WOW great sound
Unearthly racket but I love it
Loud slowing down, loud speeding up... Who needs sirens it’s even loud when it’s shut off
My og hauler sounds just like her
What aftermarket exhaust parts are on this rig? Might do this to my 1990 pierce arrow which has a 6v92
It's 5" pipe straight back from the turn down of the motor and dumps out in front of the drivers side rear tires.
@@6v92white4 10-4 i might give it a shot

That 6V92 was a badass engine..had one in a 1981 .model 9 MCI tour bus..that thing would run like a stripped asa monkey..loaded or not..
The Orion busses for RTA in New Orleans had/has these engines.
What’s the transmission on this baby? Sounds like either a Allison MT or HT. It sounds like some older MCI coaches and the Orion Is Pace used to have.
This one’s got the Allison HT740 4 speed.
@@GarbageSeani figured. How the engine is responding to the transmission sounds too familiar.
A rare white road GMC Xpeditor peirce fire engine with this combination
Love it
Why don't I ever see a Detroit Diesel like these in my street no more! All I hear is a 4 stroke boring diesel engine.

These fire engine/pump trucks turbocharged or supercharged?
Both on Detroit diesels
What trans does it use? Im planning a 6V92TT swap and my Allison MT643 aint gonna survice behind it. Even if I could find a SAE1 to SAE2 adapter.
Sounds like a Allison HT Series Transmission.
Allison 740.
You can hear the Detroit Diesel sound
It sounds like a mix of a 6.0 power stroke and a common rail Cummins
No need for sirens.
Because it's not necessary.
