Enjoyed the review, a very smart looker, and smooth runner, the fitted buffer beam detail is a real downer, it is the same with my 57, when I did it, the removal felt like an act of vandalism! Still I needed to couple it, I ended up just removing one end. ...Drew
It looks like a very decent model to me Gaz. I wouldn't have gone for this livery myself but that's probably an age 'nostalgia' thing. Good review mate.
@@OODuo I think I'd have gone for the BR blue Gaz (unless they do a green one). I worked for BR in the early to mid 70's so I think it's just a nostalgia thing (maybe).
Looks fantastic. Great livery choice I think. Does suit your layout and those rakes beautiully. I love my Heljan class 33, but I agree with you 100% on the pipe details, I had to cut mine off too so I could fit the nem coupler so she could pull something too 🤦 I thought it was a real shame. But I did the same you and only trimmed one end so the front facing had all the detail on show. I'll definitely buy another heljan diesel again. Take care Gaz
I think the prototype is rusting away at Carnforth. The Heljan 47s are super smooth and very realistic. Have been fragile re loose parts and the body shells are tight when removing for chipping (use a flathead over the buffer beams). Bachmann are excellent too. Great vid pal👍
Hi Gaz. I've got thirty five class 47s, none of them Heljan, and there are a few issues with the locomotive, obvious on 47596 in NSE livery, slightly less so on 47555. The engine room windows are slightly too big. The cab side windows, and cab door windows, are too big, as are the former headcode panels. Also, more apparent on 47555, with the white wheel walls, the wheel walls are too thin. I'm not doubting the running of it, but it's not one I would buy. And, I do agree with you regards the detail. As my layout is a dead end terminal, I need couplings both ends on locos, so I would've had to remove the detailing on both ends.
Love the layout and great review of Class 47, happy with my detailed bachmann class 47 and also having my Hornby basic 47's around
@@dafyddthomas7299 the more 47’s the better! Thanks for watching Dafydd!
Nice one. I`ve been after the Network southeast Gaugemaster release, I finally picked one up for 90 quid this week.
@@newlynnrailway The GM Network SE one looks really smart. £90? Now that’s a bargain!! 😁

@@drewsmodelrailwayworld4856 Thanks Drew! Glad it’s not just me that felt that way about vandalising the bufferbeams! 😂

Thanks for the tip there. I’ll have to get the body off for chipping soon. 👍

Nice livery.
What size is your layout please

Choo chooooo! Get the coronation out.
Which 47555 is it?
This particular 47555 is the latest Heljan model in OO gauge. 👍
