Toulouse Blagnac, Eglise Saint Pierre

Surprise, cette Eglise de taille modeste au style romano-gothique qui remonte au 12ème siècle, surmontée d’un beau clocher méridional rappelant celui de la Basilique Saint-Sevrin, est comme neuve après une restauration bien maitrisée de 2008 à 2012. Elle a pourtant eu une vie mouvementée, culminant avec la destruction partielle de la nef à la suite de la chute d’un avion allemand en 1944.
Surprise, this modest-sized church in the Romanesque-Gothic style dating back to the 12th century, topped with a beautiful southern bell tower reminiscent of that of the Basilica of Saint-Sevrin, is like new after a well-controlled restoration from 2008 to 2012. However, it has had an eventful life, culminating in the partial destruction of the nave following the crash of a German plane in 1944.
