Aghhhh this makes me so happy and emotional I could cry!!! So excited for more videos! Hi Chica & sunsets! Question: are you using a gps app? Or a map? Like how do you know the exact mileage you’re at? More questions: are you still on a keto-inspired diet? Anything different with your set up these days or extra luxury items since the AT? Are you using camera or phone for video? PS we stayed in our tent over the 4th up at the lake and miss piggy popped my sleeping pad. Lasted the whole AT but one night with the dog and now I’m sleeping on the ground like you🤦🏼♀️🤣 MISS YOUUUUU🖤🖤🖤
I have had some beautiful day hikes on the BT in NC. I will use the BT to test my gear for a possible AT thruhike. William Bartram is a fascinating historical figure.
Yay Evan!! New follower here! I’ve been watching you and Liz Kidder’s AT hikes over and over and I’m so glad to see new content from you. Love your style and love vicariously and virtually backpacking along with you on your journeys!
Great to see a fellow tarp camper. You motivated me a while back to forego the tent and go lighter. I have to say, I really don't like how enclosed the tent feels now. Thanks for video taping. Thanks for the motivation.
OMG, Evan's back. Good to see you out on the trail. I've always enjoyed your hiking videos, you seem to bring us along in a way that feels like we are there with you. Thanks Evan!
So excited to see a new Evan video! Especially love your trail-facts vignettes and good natured attitude about every trail. Thumbs up on the cool tarp set-ups which give me poison ivy just looking at them. Really looking forward to parts two and three!
My dad was from Clayton GA in Rabun County and I spent many summers in that beautiful place. Warwoman Dell and Rabun Gap brought back some great memories.
Hiking the full Bartram Trail is high on my list. Glad to see you are doing it. I've always liked the route because it hits many of the best viewpoints in that region and provides a parallel option to the AT. Rabun Bald, the Fishhawk Mountains, Wayah Bald, Nantahala Lake, and Cheoah Bald are all beautiful. I'm sure you were sweating on that tough climb out of Nantahala Gorge to Cheoah Bald with this heat. Did you buy the Bartram Trail maps? I saw one posted at Wayah Bald and the detail looked great.
Good to see you out on the trail, especially the Bartram which is definitely on the list when I get to hike again. Best part of this video? It's only number one of three. 👍😁
Nice to see you making videos again. My coworkers and I had a great time watching you that summer do the AT. Every episode was action packed. In this video I enjoyed seeing you wearing your trademark sandals stepping over the fallen tree!
Thanks so much for this! We were considering the Bartram for a trip a couple weeks ago, and also had heard it tended to be overgrown. It didn't look too bad though.
I have always wondered about the Bartram. It looks like a very nice trail, got to put it on my list. Good to see a video from you Hike Safe & Have Fun.
IF the bugs aren't too bad?? In Georgia...in July? Lol. I'm assuming you opted for the bug bivvy and didn't just sleep on top of it. Another great vid. Good to see some new content from you 👊
Evan, great to see another video. I believe that I saw one other new video since you finished the AT. You also inspired me to use my lightweight tarp more. I took the tarp down to 36 degrees F back in January of last year in North Mississippi. Sorry I missed having coffee with you in Nashville last year. Maybe next time. jp
Yay! Glad to see you on a trail again. What happened to the little extra at the end of the video? Lol there is always just a little more. Hope all is well with you and the fam.
Love your videos Evan, always entertaining and I learn something. Are you still enjoying the sandals? Curious about what your thoughts are on comfort items for a shorter duration hike (weight v comfort)
This was a nice video man. The trails look very nice to enjoy hiking. Man that's awesome how you was hiking in sandals. I like to hike I just don't get a chance to do it often because I have to wear flip-flops all the time. I don't know if flip flops will work great for those type of Trail. What kind of sandals are you wearing.
Nice video, at 13:20 when the interview was taking place, on the side of her head further you can see two black spots moving, maybe animals, or any other people in the area...
No issues. In fact, I'd rather out in the open (under a tarp, or not) with animals around. Then I can see what's making the noise, rather than just wondering about it in my tent. I did a video specifically about tarp camping -- it's sort of gone viral. ua-cam.com/video/-_KkaW4d6Ek/v-deo.html
Hey, Evan! I’m a Knoxvillian who has enjoyed your videos for a while. Do you do anything different on summer hikes in terms of hydration? Any preferred electrolyte supplements or increased water consumption? Take care, and thanks for the videos.
Dude, I'm retiring on 9/30. I'm only 50 years old and I'm in Murfreesboro. Anytime, you need a hiking partner, let me know. I'll be available. Damn lawyer and doctor hiking together would have some youtube appeal (ok, maybe not).

Thanks for the comment Liz! Low-carb diet, yes. Same set-up as the AT but no silver Reflectix. I’ll cover the navigation in a video.
Liz!! We miss your videos too!! Hope all is well. Last video I watched of you - you bought a house!
Oh, how I've missed those words, 'This is my setup for the night.' Glad you're back!
Learned about the clove hitch knot from Evan's setups.
It's great sharing this adventure with you Evan ... and there's more to come :)
Good video Evan, it's nice to see you on my screen again!

Great to see a fellow tarp camper. You motivated me a while back to forego the tent and go lighter. I have to say, I really don't like how enclosed the tent feels now. Thanks for video taping. Thanks for the motivation.
Great video as always! I'm so glad you came out of retirement!
OMG, Evan's back. Good to see you out on the trail. I've always enjoyed your hiking videos, you seem to bring us along in a way that feels like we are there with you. Thanks Evan!
You’re welcome!
You’re welcome!
Hell yes....not much better than a new Evan video...what a treat, thanks dude..PLEASE make more..WANT to do that trail....
It is always fun seeing a vid pop up with your name on it; like seeing an old friend.
Greetings! Hi to Chica and Sunsets too!
Thanks Sam!
Great video as always. Thanks for the interview with C&S. It is good to learn about people so important to the trail.
Great trail. Thanks for giving great information to the viewers on this trail. Awesome trail markers. Well done Evan. Crow✌️
Hiked this last year and loved every minute of it
Nostalgia from your AT thru-hike, awesome to have Chica and Sunsets along, we got to see your art on the wall in their hostel, from other thru-hikers.
So good to see you all again!
Glad to see a video from ya Evan. Especially one on a trail so close to my home that I would like to do myself. Can't wait for the next video.

Another great video and one of my favorite Trails! Hate you missed Dicks Creek Falls down by the Chattooga. It’s one of the highlights!
So good to see your videos again!!
Good to see another video of a lesser traveled trail Evan. Thanks for always sharing your adventures.
Glad to see you again. 👍👍

So good to see you again!
Really enjoyed all the AT videos. Will try to watch some of your shoutout recs. Good luck and good weather with this one.
I like the way you look directly into the camera lens ..so many hikers look at the display and it drives me nuts. Good job Evan ..you're a pro
Yeah!!! So awesome to see you back on trail! 🙏
So nice to see you hiking again!
Nice to see you making videos again. My coworkers and I had a great time watching you that summer do the AT. Every episode was action packed. In this video I enjoyed seeing you wearing your trademark sandals stepping over the fallen tree!
Great to see you back in the woods Evan. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.
Nate
Thanks so much for this! We were considering the Bartram for a trip a couple weeks ago, and also had heard it tended to be overgrown. It didn't look too bad though.
Welcome back! Great to see you again. So weird not to see Liz hiking with you. I miss her too. Take care
I have always wondered about the Bartram. It looks like a very nice trail, got to put it on my list. Good to see a video from you Hike Safe & Have Fun.
Thanks Ken!
Glad you’re out and hiking! Great to see ya again! Stay safe
It has now become a great week: Ewolf, Chica, Sunsets!
So glad to see you putting out another video.
IF the bugs aren't too bad?? In Georgia...in July? Lol. I'm assuming you opted for the bug bivvy and didn't just sleep on top of it. Another great vid. Good to see some new content from you 👊
Hey Even, great to see you again. Thanks for sharing information about this trail. I’ll have to add this one to the list.
So happy to see new videos!
Glad to see you do this trail. Been interested in doing it myself. Great video.
Evan, great to see another video. I believe that I saw one other new video since you finished the AT. You also inspired me to use my lightweight tarp more. Aw man. I wish I had known you were hiking the Bartram Trail. I would have loved to join you for a section. I love the Bartram Trail!
So glad to have you back bro! I hope there is more to come!
nice hike and good interview thanks for sharing
Saw the Chica and Sunsets picture with you on Facebook last week, wondered if we'd see a video.
Great to See Ya Evan, Great to See Chica and Sunsets as well. I always write before the vid is over and have to come back and edit my comment lol
Hi Evan. I am new to your channel and wanted to say I really like your commentary on your vids, as well as your video skills.
Yay! Glad to see you on a trail again. What happened to the little extra at the end of the video? Lol there is always just a little more. Hope all is well with you and the fam.
I have had really good hikes on the Bartram. Glad to see it :D
Always a good time watching your videos, keep up the great wrok! I eagerly await your next upload :)
Love your videos Evan, always entertaining and I learn something. Are you still enjoying the sandals? Curious about what your thoughts are on comfort items for a shorter duration hike (weight v comfort)
Still like the sandals. As for shorter hikes, my thinking is if your primary goal is to camp, not walk, then take whatever you want!
I hope Chico and Sunset get some nice hiker to make artwork for the hostel.
Good seeing you Evan. .. Underdog
Welcome back Evan.
Another great Evan video.
Luna Mono Gordos.
@@EvansBackpackingVideos Ok I wonder if they make those for people with very wide feet.
With your tarp set up, aren't snakes, bugs, and ticks a concern? I am a hammock camper, so I would not know. Great Vids!!!
Snakes, bugs, ticks -- not really. I often use a bivy under the tarp. I have some video just about tarps.
Great video! I'm also on low carb, but I have to be to keep my Diabetes in remission.
Nice video, at 13:20 when the interview was taking place, on the side of her head further you can see two black spots moving, maybe animals, or any other people in the area...
Kind of funny look in your eye when you said: "The film Deliverance was filmed on the Chattooga River" ...maybe you were in the actual movie?
🥳 Nice to see you!
any issues with animals using that minimalist set up? looks great, I've been contemplating a move to the ground...your thoughts?
Are you planning to do any more big Thru-Hikes in the future?
Probably.
Been there done that in summer. You hear any banjos? Seen many wild hogs then.
Lots of bug spray. And keep hydrated.. Amd take many breaks the humidity will kill u alone... Stay safe and healthy...
Good Times
How is the heat and humidity? I'm in florida and it's pretty brutal with daily afternoon thunderstorms.
Hasn’t been too bad ...
Great video bro🤘
EVAN! Yes Yes Yes love these vids.
Hey, Evan! I’m a Knoxvillian who has enjoyed your videos for a while. Do you do anything different on summer hikes in terms of hydration? Any preferred electrolyte supplements or increased water consumption? Take care, and thanks for the videos.
I just drink some extra water I guess!
Well his is my last of your 3 new videos. 3-2-1 boom!
Ssshh...it's a secret trail, Evan!!
