Did they give you the Robin Hood suite or the Sheriff of Nottingham suite with built in torture chamber? I used to work for Hilton International for 34 years & have stayed in around a 30 of their UK & overseas hotels both on company business & also on holiday with my family as a guest. The hotels are either top draw 5 star or poor 2 star hotels posing as 3 & 4 star hotels - the only 4 star ones which are genuine 4 star hotels are the long time original Hiltons like the Kensington Hilton in London . Yours looks like it is one of the former Ladbroke hotels that were incorporated into the Hilton chain in the years that Ladbroke owned Hilton International and in my experience they were really crappy hotels with poor amenities & untrained & mostly foreign staff in the UK. How was the food? Even in the crappy Hilton UK hotels with poorly maintained rooms I found the food in general to be good & the food in the 5 star Hiltons to be very good to excellent

We were in just a “Deluxe Room” - maybe it could have been the Sheriff suite… 👀
Some really good knowledge there which we were not aware of we stay in Hilton’s quite a lot, but this seems to have had a refurb but lots of shortcuts it seems.
We agree some of the 5 star properties like Park Lane are 😍, have another 2 nights booked this year in a suite, so a review will follow!

Food wise we sadly did not get to partake, as the “latest” check out they could offer was 12… so skipped breakfast for an extra hour in bed!

@@RonanandAlex I never stayed at the Park Lane Hilton but did attend a business meeting there & had a great lunch there with Hilton London region sales & PR colleagues. The most luxurious Hilton I stayed in on holiday in the UK was the Langham Hilton (today it is no longer a Hilton) It was bought in a dilapidated state by Ladbroke & refurbished to luxury standards and not wishing to go through all the rigmarole of having the hotel opened with inexperienced staff they brought in a team of top notch veteran staff from Park Lane, the Paris Hilton, the Vienna Hilton, the Geneva Hilton, top staff from other UK Hiltons and even 'poached' staff from the Savoy & the Ritz Paris (by offering them much higher salaries) When I and family were there about 2 years after it reopened as a Hilton we were treated royally, the adjoining rooms we got had all the extra's & freebies you could possibly want & the food in the main restaurant was gourmet as the chefs & kitchen brigade were still the team recruited from the Paris Ritz & Geneva Hilton's. I hope you have a great time staying at the Park Lane Hilton & get to eat their breakfast buffet.
