It’s because they clashed their individual skills together instead of just passing the ball, which is what teamwork is. Blue lock does the same here and creates the concept of chemical reactions where two individuals aiming for a goal clash to create a teamwork play

You really have guts to start Bluelock immediately after Haikyuu which revolves around team play and cooperation. Abandon and forget everything you just learned from Haikyuu to truly understand the masterpiece of Bluelock. Bluelock has one of the best main characters so far. Infact this is one of those few animes where the main character is my most favourite.

if you guys really end up liking sports anime, you should check out Ping Pong the Animation. It's by far the best sports anime, it has so much great character writing like haikyuu, but i think it gets a little deeper into the psyche of the characters more over the mechanics of the sport. the cast is all beautifully written, it has a unique visual style, and the music is amazing. it's only 11 episodes and it's a full and complete story, highly recommend :)
