Thanks a lot for this video, very helpful ! Precise and clear content, love it. I already have the maxfly and i wanted to buy new spikes for pratice so imma go for the superfly.
Thanks again for this, + 1
i was just looking at these two sprint spikes yesterday then this pops up on my feed thanks Aaron!
Needed this ty bc I didn’t know the difference, also congrats on your win!💪🏿🔥😤tell em your not done yet
I’m such a fan of you and I love what you do on social media, good job ❤
I just wanted to see a comparison. Didn't expect such a detailed high quality video, thank you!
aaron love from india. love watching your vlogs and all other videos so inspirational it would be great if you upload your training videos in vlog form and all the best for upcoming season
Thanks for the love man 🤝🏾 I’ll do my best to get that, it’s just difficult because I do all the filming myself and my coach wants me to lock in and focus at practice. I’ll try to figure something out though for y’all
thank you for the informative video, I bought some spikes using your link thanks.
I just bought a mint colourway of the maxfly's and i have also seen a white with the letters air on. The rest of the video was perfect thx for the info
This is old! But I have both and they have their own unique advantages, Max fly definitely Is more versatile and coming off the turn will make you feel like you’re flying down the track, but it doesn’t beat that light feeling that the super fly elite has that makes your acceleration feel much smoother and quicker in the 100m
Thanks for watching. Glad you have both to try out and compare. Stay tuned for future videos 👍🏾
just shelled out some money for the superflys, figured i should upgrade from ja fly 3s. This got me even more excited to try the superflys out!
When do they release the shoes. I have the Nike app. Bought my daughter the maxfly but did not like the feeling. She likes tje traditional spike.
I have been thinking about going into track and ive been looking to find the right shoe. The superfly 2 is one that ive seen and read is very good so this has helped me a little more on my search for a good sprinting shoe.
Happy to help! Don’t forget to cop through the link if you do pull the trigger on them 🤝🏾
im a pretty versatile runner and plan on doing anything from the 200m to the 800m and am wondering what one you think would be a better middle distance spike for the 800m
I'll get the Maxflys as they're on sale now, since the Maxfly 2s are coming out, and I'm mainly a 60 and 100m guy so running the bend isn't going to be too much of an issue for me.
Great vid man, but I got a question what sizing should I go with when buying the elite 2 am a size 10 but should i go a size up or half a size. Would love to hear your feedback from this, it would help a lot.
Personally I got up .5 size because of the heel padding insert. They fit really snug to your feet
Hey Aaron, your content is very helpful. I'm choosing between these two spikes for the 110m hurdles. For an inexperienced runner like myself, which spike would be better for developing good running technique, i.e. suitable in training and competition?
Edit: I also tend to decelerate quite early in the race (using Zoom rival S spikes), which spikes would be better for maintaining top end speed?
Hey man thanks for watching, glad it could help. For a beginner like you I’d go with the max fly in the hurdles and see if you can get comfortable with them. They can be difficult to use if you don’t strike the ground properly but since you’re beginning I would suggest learning to use the best spike while learning to hurdle as well rather than waiting. If that’s too difficult then the superfly is your best bet because they are the most beginner friendly. You just mentioned that you want to maintain speed and the max fly will help you do that best if you learn to use them properly. Good luck 👍🏾
hi there! i’m a freshman in high school who’s been running and jumping for two years and i was a jh girls state champ for hurdles my first year but i didn’t have the greatest time ever. i’m looking into spikes for the first time and i wanted to know what you personally think may be the best spikes for hurdles and sprints either 100-400m. thank you!
Hey Aaron! Love the Video! I am senior and I run the 110 High Hurdles. My time is 16.26. Which style do you think I should go with going into my last year?
Hey Aaron !
At first, thank you for your great video !
I really hesitate between these 2 spikes. As a sprinter with not particularly strong acceleration but a high laying speed, would you recommend one spike rather than the other?
Thank you in advance !!
Hey man thanks for watching. Honestly you can’t go wrong with either spike but based on those attributes, if I had to choose I’d lean towards the max fly
Hey Man I love the video ! I'm in my sophomore year going into my second season of track and was wondering what a good track spike would be a 400 meter hurdler? Any info or suggestions would be great.
Appreciate you tuning in 🙏🏾 for the 400mh I’d try out the max fly and see how it treats you
Thank you for the video! Which one give you the fastest laptime on 100 meters? Have you noticed any difference?
Thanks for watching. For the 100m I’d definitely go with the max flys. They feel the best to me on the straight away. Jus tough to find sizing right now

I’ll be returning to the track this year after a 2.5 year break for masters track in the 30-34 age bracket as I’ll be 30 next year Lord willing. I used to run in college and ran in JA Fly’s and Super Fly’s. Definitely thinking about getting the max fly’s because I’ve never tried a spike like that and want to see what the hype is about.
Welcome back to track 👍🏾 the max flys are definitely worth a try, tech has changed in 2.5 years. Good luck
As a junior sprinter who has been running in Superfly elite and elite 2 I look forward to my first competition in the maxflys. Great video Aaron much appreciated
All the best man, let me know how it goes for you and which you like better
so which one maxfly or superfly elite becuase all my competitors say maxflys is super quick
@@Allblue1 max flys aren’t super durable so those are race day shoes and superflys are also really good for both race and training but if you have the money you can have maxflys and another pair for training. Me personally I’m going to get the superflys because theyre durable and also a really good shoe
Recently, I have been looking into some new track spikes. I run the 400m, and I’m undecided. Because it’s a longer race, the more comfortable, better energy transfer with the zoom unit sounds amazing. But having 3 corners to deal with, it makes me worry ab what you said with regarding that pair. Any thoughts?
In the 400m I wouldn’t be as concerned with the turn because you’re not all out sprinting the way you do in the 200. I would definitely go max fly 👍🏾
hey aaron, big fan.
I was just wondering wether you had an opinion on which spike is better for 100m vs 200m, as both shoes have many different pros and cons. I have both but am wondering which to use for what. Thanks
Personally I like wearing the superflys for the 200m and the max fly for the 100m. I explain why in the video. Thanks for the support 💯
Hi Aaron! I’ve been watching your videos for awhile now, and I revisited this video now that I’ve started hurdling (300mH). I was wondering what you would recommend between these two spikes for the 300mH. I own both pairs and personally I prefer the superfly elite 2 because they feel much light, but would you recommend getting used to using the maxflys for this race?
Me personally I’d go superfly elite 2 to navigate around the turn and over hurdles
Hey, Aaron love 💕 your content.
I want to ask which spike runs smooth Especially in 200m for beginner. Nike maxfly or
Superfly elite 2
Thanks for the support! I’d suggest starting with superfly elite 2’s as a beginner to learn proper running mechanics. All the best 👍🏾
A couple months back I bought a pair of maxflys and I literally wore them twice before the plastic plate cracked. The superfly elites were out of stocks for the longest time and they’re finally in stock so got them ordered. Excited to see how they feel.
Yikes. Durability definitely is something they need to improve for the max flys. Hope you like the superfly elites 🔥
@@Allblue1 they're really comfy and you get good contact with the ground. I use maxfly's for competing in but the superfly's are perfect for training!
My senior season is approaching and I mainly run 400, 200, and 4x4. Which one would you recommend? Big fan by the way!
Much respect. I think I’d go max fly for you since your primarily a 400m runner. You may be able to navigate the turn in them better than a frequency 100m would. Try ‘em out!
Great Video Aaron me too im usually a nike fanatic but since im not sponsored and just running to beat my personal best i have tried puma and adidas. I mostly wear nike all the time and i love both the maxfly and the superfly elite 2 so much. I have probably every colour for the superfly elite 2 they are my fav spike!!
Hey aaron just a question on whether you know when nike will drop its updated maxfly but i assume you wouldnt be able to disclose that
I don’t know for sure because they don’t tell us that information but my guess is yes just further down the line
Amazing video bro🔥! I’m coming off injury and back to the swing of things. I’m a freshman in college and want good shoes for indoor n outdoor. I do sprints (60-400). I was previously using Nike zoom rival s, so which one do you think I should get?
Thanks for watching man, glad to hear you’re getting back in the game. Since you’re doing so many events, I’d suggest the superfly elite 2 because they will be more durable for you. Good luck 👊🏾
Hey Аaron, I'm your fan! Can you tell me, please, does the maxfly plate burst quickly? I think it's better to take elite 2, what do you think? my size is 26 cm.
If popping the bubble is your concern, go for the superfly elite 2
go.magik.ly/ml/1fw32/
I feel like I’m gonna get the superflys for my sophomore year old high school, but I’m thinking of getting the maxflys for my junior and senior years of high school since those are the years that I need to be best times for my two main goals, going to college for track, and breaking school records for at least the 100m
Hey, loved the vid. I’m in between an 11 and 11.5 for the maxfly, would you recommend a size up or down?
Appreciate it 🙏🏾 for max flys id say true to size if you can or 1/2 size up because I personally like more room to flex my foot rather than it being super snug
@@kingsleysc thanks for the reply. I’ll grab a 11.5, let you know how it goes. I currently run a 49.4 this past outdoor szn as it was my first track szn, but I’m thinking abt taking it seriously, potentially walking on to a college (I’m a rising senior in hs). This is one step of the process🤝
yooo Aaron , do you know when nike will restock on the maxflys ? because they have been sold out for a while now
I would honestly give the superfly elite 2 a 4/5 for durability because as soon as I toe drag in them the front starts to wear down quickly and get scuffed
True. I don’t toe drag so I haven’t encountered that problem. Although I don’t know if any spike can really withstand scraping it into the track lol
@@aleksanderokon5774I do the exact same! I use electric tape lmao, it's the perfect solution
Very good review Aeron, but I would simplify things, For start and acceleration and running up to 60m, the Superfly Elite 2 are better because they are very light and there is no energy return (which you don't need while accelerating). For after 60 meters, i.e. for maximum speed and maintaining speed, Max Fly is better because they return the energy, which gives a big advantage after 60 meters.
Which one will be better for 400 meters
Thank you bro I have been searching for this information for weeks.
Now I have superflys 1 and Im thinking ab buying the superflys 2. Is there any difference except from the new upper?
I love the OG superflys. The 2’s have the same plate but feel different because of the insert in the hell and mesh upper. Feels a lot more snug fit versus the OG’s. Definitely a great spike though
@@kingsleysc okay but should I keep the Ogs or upgrade to the 2s. They still work but I dont know if upgrading will make me faster. And the 2s in that reverse flash color looks really dope
@@oskarekstrom8009 well the spike isn’t what makes you fast, it’s always the runner. But if your OG’s are getting old you should definitely upgrade. Spikes should be changed out at least once a season if you’re racing a lot
Yo Aaron great video can I use the superfly elite 2s on grass for the 100m and do you think they would give me an edge even on the grass thank you 😀
I wouldn’t recommend it and I don’t think it would give you an edge. I’d recommend you run in something like the streakfly in the grass 👇🏾
go.magik.ly/ml/1j3m1/
@@kingsleysc thanks for the recommendation it is a flat even track just grass I’ll probably wear them anyway thanks though
What’s your all-time favorite sprint spike? 👇🏾
I’ve been running in the Maxflys this season, and they are the best spikes I’ve ever worn in my life.
hey aaron im a senior in highschool and wondering which spikes I should use for the 100m? I tend to have shin problems a lot so would the maxflys be better due to the cushion? I am just worried about the durability of them.
The cushion would probably be better you if you have shin problems but you do run the risk of them possibly popping. I’d probably try the max flys and roll the dice with durability.
Hey Aaron, big fan. I wanted to ask where you get that Elite Gear that I've seen the sponsored athletes wear these past few weeks in the Diamond League meetings (singlets, shorts, etc)? I would like to buy something like that for myself. Cheers and good luck for this season!
Check Bell Lap Track and Field, they might have some of what you’re looking for
The ones you see at Diamond leagues are for sponsored athletes specifically. You’d have to buy it from a reseller online
Thanks for the wonderful video. I want to get some new spikes for my 15 years old daughter. She has been using Puma evoSPEED Tokyo Future FASTER and breaking her personal best time in U16 80m Hurdle locally and nationally(presently German u16 champion). She wants to try Nike and i am really not sure what to get for her. I prefer the puma... but she is the Athlet not me🤣 what will your recommend for her... she trains like 5 time a week + weekend competitions.
Lol join the swoosh family! I would give the max flys a try and see how they work for her! All the best!
Arron have you had any inconvenience with the Max fly sole cracking or has the air bag popped on you at all
Still hasn’t yet for me but has for some of my teammates. Probably because I swap between the two
i’m a 200m sprinter for my school and broke the freshman record at my school with the maxflys so i would say the maxflys work the best if u can run those turns right
Do the Olympics pro runner like you get the track spikes before they are on the market
I’m running track this year for the first time in junior year I want to do track at the college level what workouts should I do to see great results also good video 💯
Awesome, enjoy yourself. I’m not a coach so I don’t give out workouts but check out this video on balancing student athlete life to help you out. All the best

How would you compare these two to the Adizero Finesse Spikes?
Honestly have no idea, I’m Nike sponsored and I only can advise on Nike spikes because that’s all I’ve ever worn. I do know that majority of people I see out there race in Nikes 🤷🏾♂️
Hi ! I wear a size 4.5 for my regular nike spikes but i really want the superfly elites, i like them snug so should i get the same size ?
If you like them snug I think true to size May work for you in the superfly elites 👍🏾
go.magik.ly/ml/1fw32/
I have both these spikes and just got the Victory’s.
For me, the Victory’s blow both of these away with their lightness and bounce, giving the best of the Superfly Elites and the Maxfly’s.
I just ran huge PB’s in the 100/200/400 on 3 consecutive days in the Victory’s.
Interesting I haven’t heard of victories for sprint events before but if it works it works 🤷🏾♂️
@@kingsleysc definitely does for me anyway and the results are undeniable.
You would never wear short sprint spikes for long distances races but I believe you can definitely wear longer distance spikes for shorter sprints.
Lots of the masters sprinters do this as they find them more suitable.
Just because Nike markets them for 800m to 1500m or 5k, doesn’t necessarily mean that they aren’t suitable for short sprints too.
I was actually thinking the same thing. I have some injuries on my left ankle, knee, and lower back and need all the gear support.
How is your victory holding up? And do they come true to size? I don't have the luxury of trying them out at a store.
I’m going to be a senior in high school but I also plan on running track in college. I’m a female athlete and I run the 100, 200, and 400. I’m torn between what one to get even after watching this video. What would you recommend?
Hey I would recommend you get the superflys because they will probably be more durable for you in the long run and withstand all the miles from all 3 events. Good luck 👍🏾
🙂 Hi , wich one would you recommend for 400m, superfly elite 2 or maxfly ?
Hey just asking, which spikes would you say are best for indoor track (btw I run 200m-400m) Thanks.
Personally I’d go with the superfly elite 2 because indoors is very tight around the track and I need to have good traction around those curves
Is the fit of the shoe important to you? Do you wear the shoes adjusted to the foot or do you wear half a size more?
Please clarify this question for me
Depends on the spike. Fit is very important because you want it to feel comfortable and like an extension of your foot. For the max flys I wear true to size. For the superfly elite 2 I go up 1/2 a size
in terms of durability i wish the maxflys were trustworthy. i used them for a week and 1 meet and the airbag popped, just got the superfly elite 2s shipped.
That’s tough man. Hopefully the next version of the max flys are more durable. Good luck with the super flys !
Hey Aaron, which spikes would you choose for a runner who is going back to racing after 15 years? I'm going to compete in 200 and 400m.
Last question ;). I saw in your other video that u use Nike Zoomx Streakfly (so do i). Can you just tell me if you have the same size of superfly’s and the streakfly’s? Asking because here is no option to try it on 🤷♂️. Assume that i need to order 2 sizes and keep the better one. Thanks!
I’ve found the MaxFly to be a little stiff and uncomfortable with the plate mostly after wearing them for a long workout
Hey! I have a question, I recently bought the Maxflys I mainly run 100 and 200m but was wondering if they suit well for jumping events like long jump and triple jump? The guy who fitted me says at max, they go well in 800m which I also do (I skip 400m) but was unsure about how they go in jumping. What are your thoughts? My research says they go well with jumping but significantly increase injury based on the base of the shoe. Can you please give me your ideas, thank you!
Hey man thanks the comment. I 100% would NOT use maxflys for anything other than sprinting. They make spikes specifically for jumping mechanics and if you use sprint spikes you could hurt yourself. I’d suggest if you wanted to do jumping you get spikes just for that. They are actually on sale for $70. All the best!
go.magik.ly/ml/1m4uu/
@@kingsleysc Was thinking the same thing. Either get some old pairs from someone as they don’t have to be good or spend up to $100 if necessary. Thanks for replying though!
So for a straight line race like the 60m and 100m Max Flys are better? Definitely getting those then
Are maxfly’s good for the 4x1 and 300m hurdles ?
Yes I’ve seen people use them. I like the superflys when I run on the curves (1st or 3rd leg) but on the straight I’ll go max fly. I’ve also seen fast times dropped in max flys in the long hurdle races
How are the max flys in the curve in 200m and 400m sprints? Maybe a bit unstable? im 6 foot 5 inches and weigh 192 pounds/lbs
I go in depth about the max flys for the 200 in the video. For the 400m I think the pace isn’t so fast that you’d be unstable and a lot of my teammates love them on the home stretch in the 400m. Some also can use them in the 200, so it’s all about preference and running style
Maxfly's are a great deal IF YOU CAN GET THEM FOR RETAIL. the popularity of that shoe has gotten high that at least in Canada you can't get pair at retail and have to go to the resale market to which prices are going on average 399.99 plus. Its so bad that resellers are using bots to get the shoes to resale!
Oh and thank you for being honest about the durability of the maxflys, hopefully Nike fines a solution
The fact that there’s a resale market issue with spikes is crazy! Hope you can catch one of the restocks for retail.
And of course, I may be a Nike athlete but I have to be honest with my subscribers. I’m sure the next version will be improved
my junior season is approaching and I am still wondering what spike I should use, I used the maxfly for my sophmore year but during summer training the bubble popped.most likely because I hurdle so I put alot of force into the ground, do you think it would be smarter to buy the super fly elite 2? or buy another pair of maxflys, my only concern is the bubble popping again
TBH if you are concerned with popping the bubble again, I’d just go with the superfly elite 2. But if you are willing to take that risk then do the max flys again if they work well for you
Hey Aaron
I am a 60-100-200m sprinter my best discipline is 100m because of my acceleration and I am looking to buy new spikes I don’t know if elite 2 or maxfly is better for me. Would be thankful if you told me what you think is the best option for me.
Tell me a bit more about yourself. How old are you? How long have you been running?
@@kingsleysc I am currently 17 year’s old soon 18. I have been running for 3 years now. On 60 my best time is 7.24 that I ran this year. Last year my best time on 60 m was 7,58 and on 100m it was 11,42.
I really want to test the max fly 2 but it’s hard to get to have size 41/42 it’s impossible so many demands
What would you say is the best spikes on a budget for 100m and 200m
The superfly elite 2 are on sale last I checked for around $73 so I’d definitely lean towards them!
Do you think Max Fly’s will break if your only using them to run 100 Meter? (New Subscriber also!)
Thanks for subbing 🙏🏾 for the 100 only id definitely go max fly. They should hold up for you on the straight away
Would the superflys be better for 200, 400 runner?
It can go either way tbh. I personally like superflys for the 200 and you can definitely wear them in the 400. Some of my teammates like the max flys a lot in the 400 so I’d say they’re probably better for the 400m
hey brown i just bought maxflys recently how do i take care of the spike's bubbles to make sure it wont pop or last longer? and if i train in them what should i avoid and must do?
Good question. I haven’t heard about anything you can specifically do to save the bubbles unfortunately. It’s really just about how you run in them. The only thing I could suggest would be saving them for workouts where you are trying to turn it up and wear other spikes in your interval runs
Is superfly elite 2 best choice for 15y/o sprinter (100m,200m sometimes 400m)
I would like to set new PRs in these events and improve my speed
What do u recommend for me ?
I’d start with superflys if you’re a beginner runner and work your way up to max flys when you feel more confident in your technique
Receiving the Maxflys in a couple of days! Will be wearing them in a 400 race either this week or next week, coming from the Zoom 400s. Let's see how they compare, especially on the turns. I've heard from Dutch Olympic athletes (where I compete) that the Maxfly especially excel in the last 50m of the 200m and the last 80/100m of the 400m, where the bubble and plate really give you the edge. Do you agree with it?
Great video btw!
@@ForeignArmyy One of the biggest running shops of the UK had a small restock of them a week ago so I managed to order a pair in my size, since from the UK here in the Netherlands it's quite close (even though it takes a bit longer with Brexit of course).
Thanks for watching. I’ve heard similar things about the 400. Let me know if that works for you 👍🏾
Hey so I’m a freshman and it’s my first time doing track. I and I run 100 and 200 I ran in normal shoes 13.6 for 100 and 27.8 in 200 but I want to run 200 mostly since I’m better so which shoe is better and also if the bubble pops do Nike give you a free pair
Hope they work for you! Unfortunately, if they pop, you don’t get them another pair. That’s the risk you take, although as I said in the video it’s never popped on me
what are good spikes for the 200 and 400
I’d go superfly elite 2 for the 200 and max fly for the 400m but it’s all about personal preference
I am doing my first year of high school track and I plan on doing 100 meter. What would work best for me?
I think the superfly is a better beginner spike and I’d start with that to learn proper running mechanics
Does anyone know where I could get the Superflys in rawdacious? I can’t seem to find them anywhere
Not sure what rawdacious is but if you check this link they do have some sizes available: go.magik.ly/ml/1fw32/
Hi, I am a student who has to compete for 100m to enter a sports university in Korea
In the 100m competition, Maxfly is said to have excellent performance, but the expensive price is a problem because I am a student. It's okay if it's durable, but I don't know if I can withstand 1 pair of Maxfly until the upcoming January test.
Is it okay to train with Superfly Elite2 and wear Maxfly only when competing?
I wonder if the feeling of Maxfly and superfly Elite2 is different enough to affect competition
I definitely understand, multiple spikes can add up in price. It’s definitely all good to train in one spike and race in another. Just know that they are an entirely different feel and be prepared for that when you compete. Good luck
@@kingsleysc Thank you so much for your answer! I'm enjoying the video and it's so helpful to me! I'll always cheer for you

That’s strange. I’ve found that the max flys fit true to size for me and I don’t wear socks in my spikes. Not sure why it’s doing that for you. Not sure how to fix it. Maybe wear socks in your spikes? Or wear an in sole. For future, probably best to go a 1/2 size down in those spikes
I wish the Maxflys didn’t burst so easily🥴. The durability is more of a 1/5. Mine popped within 3 training sessions
Sheesh, sorry to hear that man. Hopefully they next version is more durable
Yeah heard that from a lot of friends. Third session and they’re gone. But personaly I’ve been using mines for 2 months now and I’m running hurdles still No issues. Lucky me hahah
Great video!
I’ve bought the Nike ZoomX dragonfly for my 3000 m race and I run with a pace of around 3:45/km.
Is that shoe a good option for that kind of distance and pace?
Thanks for your help!
Thanks for watching! I’m not a sprinter but I’ve heard great things about that spike so I would assume those are good. Also heard victory’s are good too
are these the best for 400m? Or are there other better spikes for it.
It’s all about personal preference but either one of these will get you right in the 400m
The importance of this video is that Nike has provided both a modern and traditional spikes. Nike is making a move on implementing the Nike Air Zoom Bag. I believe that the Maxflys have room to improve where the Superfly are an example of peak innovation. It’s all subjective at the end and choose the spike you feel most comfortable with.
