Rangers fall in Game 5 to Panthers 3-2 | New York Rangers
It ain't over 'til it's over... but man does it feel over. But now that they have their backs against the wall, maybe they'll play better. Down but not out boys
I hope you're right, but as long as there's fight, I'll live with it, if they Mail it in, that will kill me
30 years ago how many people legitimately believed they would win the series down 3-2 to New Jersey having to win game 6 on the road. Until a team wins 4 games the series isn't over.
Tomorrow morning when u wake up u will realize the rangers are out and panthers are heading to the cup final and I couldn’t think of a team that deserves it more.
I'm liking Boyle's breakdown of plays. You can tell Brian Boyle wanted to really criticize the top line. I wish he did.
At 12:12 "looking for calls" I think Brian saw what I saw. On the last goal that the Panthers made, Zib faked a head hit trying to draw a penalty, instead of going after the puck he was bumped off of. And he didn't try to chase the Panther player who took it away from him.. His speed was lackadaisical and so was his body posture. I said on another channel that Zib looked like Ovi skating back to defend,
We got one more try. Let's hope they get it together. Let's go Rangers.
Great assessment! Zibanejad has pissed me off all year. Won’t shoot other than on the pp.
Top guys being outplayed again. As a Ranger, Panarin has 34 points in 45 playoff games and is -8. He hasn’t been good enough.
That’s a pathetic stat
@@criddlexd I watched the game last night and the officials evened up the PP chances, as they usually do in the playoffs. (Had Erik Gustafsson kept his cool? We would have had a 5 on 3) not that it matters. Because Florida has completely shut down our PP. We all knew that we were way too PP-dependent and playing a team of Florida’s calibre. You have to be able to score 5 on 5 hockey. The officials are NOT going to call a penalty unless it’s absolutely necessary in the ECF. That wasn’t the 5th game of the regular season last night when the officials call all sorts of ticky-tack nonsense. This is for the Eastern Conference championship trophy and the opportunity to go play for the Stanley Cup and you want the officials to officiate like it’s the 6th game of the regular season? Never going to happen, nor should it. Stop blaming the officiating for Panarin disappearing like he always does in the playoffs. Panarin is a really good regular-season player. (Like Austin Mathews) The bottom line is he underperforms in the playoffs and if he’s getting mugged. He needs to figure out a way to play through that, just like all the other players do on both teams.
@@criddlexd I disagree, I think Florida is the better team. No shame in that, it happens. We’re one player away from being a Cup winner. Also, let’s be honest, if we didn’t have Igor? Florida probably would have swept us or maybe a gentleman’s sweep? It doesn’t matter what level you play (I played on a decent level) it’s hard to win and sucks losing. Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team. The 3 best players in this series have been Igor Shesterkin, Aleksander Barkov and Gustav Forsling. In that order, I have to admit, I love the way Gustav Forsling plays, his defensive fundamentals are way solid & his offensive abilities are very rare to see with such a good defensive, defenseman.
In 94 they were down 3 games to 2 to the Devils and came back to win. It's not over. However I don't really see a Messier in this group.
Laffy is gonna go off.
His ideal player growing up was Messier.
Trust brother. We still got Laffy like the gentleman said above.
if kreider steps up in another game 6 and pushes them through 7, i dont see any reason why he wouldn’t be
No show, no heart, no win. Smh
Agree 1000000%
BS, they absolutely showed up & played w/ a ton of heart but lost. If it was that easy, you'd be on the ice.
Yup Florida is more hungry you can see it and feel it
Hey MSG, how about posting this “Post Game” Analysis post game?!? #fail
Tough loss. Now get them Saturday bring it back Monday. In 94 same thing happen loss 5 then Won Game 6 and 7. But that was 30years ago. Hopefully it same outcome but i don't know. JS. They need to play perfect RD playoff game. Still have faith/ fate in them. Been fan since 74. LGR LGR LGR LGR LGR LGR RANGERS FANS KEEP CONFIDENT
Well this team doesn't have a Messier, Zubov or Leetch. Those guys played with heart and a hunger to win. I seriously just don't see that from anybody on this team other than Igor. We'll see though. It isn't over until it's over.
I don’t see any fire in these guys. They look completely checked out. Their body language speaks volumes!!
They aren’t built for the Staley cup playoffs
They need more point shots and more traffic. It’s basic hockey.
The PP needs changed. It’s time. IMO, Mika is checked out m
Agreed he showed no fight for that puck in the neutral zone before the empty netter.
Brian, no need to dance around it, Mika CANNOT let Bennett beat him on the wall there when they pull the goalie - that was weak - period!
Mika has been dog 💩 this series
Very soft. The Rangers have been bullied on the boards the entire series.
Mika is soft that's why
100% correct
Time to acknowledge that Florida is just a better team and are more hungry. You can just see it and feel it.
Zibanajad is a weak link come the playoffs. The fact that he's the Rangers number 1 center is a problem that will only be resolved when he retires.
Boyle is the man
Laffy on the PP
Mika out
3-5 since our 7-0 start, coming back is going to be tough
Dont know if these NYR's have it in them for the exception of the Man between the pipes. . .
IGOR
#NoQuitInNY
Drury please trade Kakko a totally useless player. A bust 1st rd pick. 2 points in the playoffs. A soft player with no jam
Some guys shine in the spotlight. Some melt. Each of these guys was offered a chance to be a legend in New York. The overwhelming majority just disappeared.
They need more shots. Their power play is terrible right now. Bob has shown time and time again his weak spots are high glove and high blocker. I know I'm not a coach but it's not rocket science. Instead of passing around a million times for a predictable slap shot by Mika from the face off dot........ They need to cycle around and just rip top corner shots from the high slot.
Kreider is a man of very few words.
Top guys being outplayed again. As a Ranger, Panarin has 34 points in 45 playoff games and is -8.
Roster management has been a big issue. The coach and general manager are playing with fire, when you insert ice cold players like Chytil and Wheeler in against a hungry opponent that rolls 4 lines of battle tested players. Rangers are just ASKING to lose. Chytil has given them nothing. Wheeler was old and slow BEFORE he broke his leg. Rempe should be scratched in favor of anybody they don't FEAR playing above 4 minutes a game. If not, take the reigns off and let the kid play. He WAS a thing, until all these doofus's started yelling at him and "coaching" him after every shift. He's been neutered ever since the suspension. Don't get me started on the new pillow line of 24, 91, & 96. Did I mention the "stars" have gone dim. None of this breeds any confidence. They had a chance to put their foot down and make corrections, instead they double down on the same choices.
Not playing a bad game doesn't cut it.
Hard to maintain enthusiasm after the last few performances, that’s for sure. 🤷🏻♂️
Sorry, Steve, but we DID play a bad game. We were well behind on the shot count and left it until it was too late to pressure Bobrovski, when there were only several minutes remaining in the game.
🍞 needs to be the 🍞 that we know he can be. We need him more than anything in Game 6.
Their Cup Runneth Over,.
Simply not good enough. Drury going soft at the trade deadline was a fatal error.
that's been my thinking, too. in '94 Neil Smith made some tough choices to fill in the gaps, & tho i'm still bummed about Mike Gartner, those decisions paid off. to not come up with a legit 1RW with grit & skill was a foreseeable lapse.
@jinpilla7420 Imagine if Drury got Guentzel and a strong defenseman at the deadline instead. The Rangers could roll four lines and have two solid defensive pairs.
@@jinpilla7420 Glenn Anderson who the Rangers got for Gartner didnt do ANYTHING in the playoffs. He was already over the hill. Gartner deserved better and I'll never forgive Neil Smith for doing that.
Absolutely no heart or urgency on too many players. I sensed no desperation with the exception of Igor. Like 'Hank' before him, Igor's acrobatics has masked a lot of issues that have been bubbling to the surface. These haven't felt like playoff games. They've felt like mid-season games with nary the snarl, rage, hate and anger that one needs (in part) to propel a team further. this club is too f*cking comfortable and it has shown in this round.
It would help if Panarin contributed literally ANYTHING on his shifts. Any time I focus on him while he’s on the ice, he’s just coasting, loafing, standing straight up, putting zero effort in to win a race or a battle. Like, dude is an ENTIRELY different human being in the post-season.
He’s a -8 right now. Actual dog water performance. Pretty sure Bobrovsky has more points than he does, and he’s not allowed to leave the paint. My old man and I joke that someone paid him off to just give up, because that’s what it looks like. 🤷🏻♂️
Panarin where are you when we need you in the playoffs?
The Panthers want it more. Its just that simple
The Panthers don’t want it more they are just a better team than the Rangers
Close? No way. We’re getting dominated.
YOU CANT TELL ME OTHERWISE. THE REFEREES DID EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING THEY COULD FROM GIVING THE RANGERS THAT 5 on 3
are you kidding?
Delusional
Mika is such a soft player. Embarrassing.
Different coach, same old story, let Shesty carry the load while the top guys float.
News Flash .. Rangers cant skate with the Panthers and the Rangers refuse to play Contact Sports .. you add Truba in the box 11 times but Rempe isnt aloud to hit anyone? It's over folks. NHL want SOuth Florida to win... even though it's literally North Florida
Boyle is being kind. We ALL can see that 93 is playing like a pansy. Truly disappointing. Don't get me started on 8 and 79... BRUTAL!
It is over. They ARE done. And done in the usual embarrassing fashion.
Needs to be changed.
Why I ever allowed myself to believe in these losers is a mystery.
Just very concerning
Everyone going to the game Saturday and on Monday bring a Binky and throw it at Tkachuk.....
Will Igor be the next Henrik? Great regular season, horrible post season... never get his name on the cup?
No reason no injuries no excuses forget the refs Rangers have to be better than them & florida
All hail the glorious Panthers
..." and then depression sets in"😢
Kaako fkd up letting it over the stick, besides the 10+ TO's he had. Overall, they played better & lost. Hopefully in 6 they play better & win.
Boyle calling out the 6 on 5 efforts. They need the will to win
Ive learned one thing in this series. BB is a goober. For an ex player wow is he a an unrealistic fan boy.
I'm sure you know much better than him
