- This speedrun was done before the discovery of the wrong warp glitch in technodrome. It is played on original hardware and the hardest difficulty. This was the fastest speed run of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in time for SNES. There was one unintentional death but my boss luck more than made up for that. This run is really solid overall, I hope I can get a deathless improvement.

I haven't played this game since I was 4. Also it hilarious that the neon city level takes place in 2020
It's crazy how much appreciation I have for TMNT comes from just this game. Such a good childhood.
As a kid I couldn't figure out how to consistently throw Foot Soldiers at the camera, so the Shredder fight was a huge hurdle for me every time I played. This game is so good that I didn't care.
This is the same problem I had! I looked it up and tried to practice, but I could never get it to happen consistently 🤷🏼♂️

@@WuBuzhidao it's actually simple as you just hit foot soldier and when they crouch holding there stomach you get near them and hit the hit button and you either throw them or do the arm pull concrete slam.
I’ve never played this game but was listening to an old We Hate Movies podcast and wanted to hear how accurate their impression of “Big Apple…3 AM” was.
All of the nostalgia is real right now.

Slash deserves to be cheesed in that game. Childhood me got my ass kicked by him a lot! Lol
So much awesome music in the TMNT series, and the boss music here is one of the best. Ultimate mood shifter.

My stepbrother and I spent many hours playing this game. Beat it several times, but it never got old. Prehistoric Turtlesaurus and Slash was always my favorite bit. Dunno why.
Now THIS is the kind of speed run I like!
14:01 - Leatherhead straight up moonwalked onto the scene haha. But man, this takes me back. I'm pretty sure I've got this game stashed somewhere with my SNES at my parent's place. I might have to drag it out and play it just to feel that nostalgia again.
Hope you find it because I tried to buy it at a og retro store and they wanted a hundred bucks for it for the SNES
God, they blew it by not remaking this version a few years back.

would you mind explaining how you do the jump kick that floats across the screen? it seems to be one of your backbone moves and its the only one i cant do consistently. my time is around 24 min

Dash and then whatever button(s) you have set to do the special attack.
I always wanted the original TMNT arcade game and would spend my tokens on it at Chucky cheese and all they had was the sorry nes TMNT games for home even the sorry nes so called arcade game was horrible. So SNES came out and all the best games at blockbuster video would be checked out and not available especially street fighter 2 as I only saw this game turtles in time available as I miserablely forcibly rented it because all games where rented but as I got home and played it I fell in love with it because it was like the original arcade and it was fun playing with tag team with cousins. I always wondered why nobody rented it because it is a bad ass game

I can tell this us not in hard mode because on hard mode you start with 7 lives not 2.
I still love the game and admire the speed run
This is hard mode. The way you can tell is that the foot soldiers in the Technodrome Shredder fight have shields and can block normal attacks so I have to shoulder dash into them before I throw them.

If you set the game to hard you get 07 lives per rest (continue)
You can also set the rest (continues) to 05 so when you play in hard you essentially have 35 lives.
Game is on normal. Hard mode has more lives and bosses have more life bars.

Holy💩 is this only possible with Raph? As I always thought Don would be better because of range.
Raph is the strongest in terms of dealing damage per attack so he can defeat enemies faster than any other turtle. His walking speed is also the fastest.

Why would you want to speed play the game anyway? That takes the fun out of it. You're supposed to take your time and enjoy the game.
