Debbie's stage presence, talent, and beauty are other-worldly. Clem Burke is a monster on those drums. Amazing performance!
2023 she’s 77 and still kicking it ! 💪
This song came out in 1979, and it still kicks ass in 2023. Blondie is just the coolest fu_king band with the most gorgeous lead singer. It doesn't get any cooler than that!!!😎😎😎😎😎☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
Am glad you stressed 1979 for some reason many seem to think Blondie are an ‘80s band’ and they weren’t , very much the late 1970s ‘78 in paricular, was their heyday by the 80s their decline had set in.
Saw her in concert in Florida a few weeks ago. She still rocks!
This is the Blondie I grew up on. So cool seeing it again 😎
"precognition", "magi", "Fromaldahyde" .... what other writer gets words like this into a pop song ?
Deb's lyrical writing is actually the most underrated aspect of all her great talents. IMHO, when you put the; looks, voice, fashion sense, aura, and then the lyrical writing ability all together ... she is the most gifted female artist package in rock history.
This song was written by Jimmy Destri. Also, the word "formaldehyde" does not appear in the lyrics here.
@j.r.1210 @j.r.1210 I stand corrected. I thought Deb wrote all of the lyrics for all Blondies tunes.
Regards fromaldehyde ... I was pulling a compilation of some of the best lines from various songs ( this tune, heart of glass, etc.).
So Jimmy deserves mad props here. This tune has a couple of the most unique and memorable lines in their whole catalog in this one.
All of us from that era had a super crush on Debbie. Of course lead Guitarist Chris Stein was the one sleeping with her. Great days in those times. glad I was young then ,
Those were magical years. I would sell my soul to relive the 1980s!!!❤
She was my girlfriend back then! Of course, she didn't know that, but that's OK!
Late ‘70s!!!!! more like, think you’ll find the date states broadcast from 1979.
Gorgeous woman for sure. I think her best look ever was The Hardest Part vid, yummy
possibly my favorite Blondie song & love the way Debbie always interacts with the audience.
these were my high school days & i have forgotten just how great a band they were...
The Queen of Punk at her Best!
Queen of Punk? With one album of punk and the rest pop? Queen of New Wave, maybe.
Stellar performance ✨
Clem Burke is such an underrated drummer, dude had some serious skills, way ahead of his time I think.
Badass Debbie!
BLONDIE @ their prime!👍👍👍
Some women should never age, Debbie Harry is one of them!
Sadly she has aged pretty badly too.
Please post Olivia Newton John performing "Magic" wearing the WHITE outfit in 1980. 😄
Debra is probably the best front lady of a band. Clem Burke plays the drums like Angus Young plays his guitar.💜🤘
More precisely, he plays a lot like a young Keith Moon, whom he idolized.
Damnnnn she looks stunning in that video !! 😊
Thank You The Midnight Special for BLONDIE !!!
Debbie always beautiful! She always wore fashionable clothes!
Clem Burke is up to his usual routine: Holding the sound together with his astonishing drumming. Debbie Harry, of course, has a fantastic voice, and even commenting on that isuperfluous.
Clem Burke was always my favourite male member of Blondie.
Some bands played live on The Midnight Special and some had to Lipsyync to their record . But at least the Live performances were amazing 😁
it looked like she was really singing here altho the vocal did sound strangely perfect and seemed to have an effect on it but the end of the song was an instrumental fade out so obviously band wasnt live, maybe she wasnt either?
This song was lip-synched. Some other Blondie tunes on Midnight Special were live, but not this one.
Great performance by Blondie! Looking forward to more great acts being released from the Midnight Special archives!
Deb is so cool in her hat and glasses 😎
Great!
There’s not a bad song on that album. Slow Motion should have been a top 40 hit.
Obviously lip-sync but man those lips... I was hooked as soon as I saw Blondie play this show.
Te amo, Debbie Harry ❤
Thanks 4 posting! Please keep going....Prince (1/8/1980)...
Shwing! 🔥
Clem!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
please post the video of abba on the The Midnight Special 1976 🥺😍
Love this !!!
I'm curious about their decision to lip-sync. They did other songs live on here. Just wondering.
❤ブロンデイ❤❤❤最高❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Audience was just this side of numb. Debbie and Clem carry it as always.
What do you expect from a La La Land audience?
Hermosa ❤preciosa 😍
👏👏👏👏
why they had to switch from live performances to playback is beyond me - less of this lip sync stuff and more of the live music please
That face, that hair, that skin, that jiggle - - that's as live as it gets!
Legs 💥💣
huge fan, wish I can find an actual live performance, not a lip synch version.
Debbie totally helped me figure out my "Special Purpose." Totally
What a chick x
PuNkS NoT DeAD
Is she lip-syncing?
Could be. She lip-synced Heart of Glass on this show.
@@parasite674 She did do a live version of Heart of Glass too on TMS.
This one is lipsynched, but I just saw another Blondie performance on this channel which was live
@@k_DAN Was that when Debbie did a rant about the nuclear arms race?
@@pbcoop62 I'm mot sure if it's that one but I did hear the rant one and I didn't really know what she was saying lol
I know this show didn't do this but is she lip synching? It just sounds just like the studio version
口パク?
Debbie & Chris wrote some great songs.
Stopped watching MS around this time. Too many bands posing playing their records in the background.
