- In this video, we resole a pair of Allen Edmonds Dalton boots. We frequently receive requests to show a refurbishment video without commentary, so in this video, we do exactly that. We let each of you hear only the sounds of shoe repair. Perhaps this video will provide each of you with some relaxing ASMR sounds.

This must be where my deep dive into shoe cobbling videos begins.
Mine too LOL
Just go with it...

I was really looking forward to a barber shop channel but the youtube algorithm really brought me this dude!
Ngl the content looks pretty solid to me!
This is really a kind thing to do! Catering to the audience this way, we're really grateful.
Thanks, Alexander! Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh great comments yes I love the how it’s done hands on videos and I’m so glad I found these Guys and grateful yes they are taking the time. Semper Fidelis
I grew up working in a shoe shop! Hearing these sounds have taken me back to a wonderful time in my life. I enjoyed this so much! Thank you!
Very cool! Glad you enjoyed it.
Those sounds, I know them so well! It was therapeutic !
I don't know anyting about repairing shoes. I came across your channel about a week ago and I got to say your videos are very satisfying thank you for the good content.
stephen Randall We really appreciate you watching! Glad you’re enjoying them.
Your welcome.
Dudes, the sounds of honorable craftsmen doing their work are always beautiful. May both of you and your families live long and prosperous lives.
Thank you so much, David! That’s very kind. Same to you.
I never realized how relaxing the sounds of a cobbler’s shop could be. Thanks for sharing! Watching the precision of the craft is mesmerizing. On average, how long does it take to repair a pair of shoes?
Thank you for watching. Typically, it takes about 45 min to 1 hr. Depending on the complexity. Naturally, waiting on glue to set is like watching paint dry. 😂
Thanks for the cool video, guys. I actually enjoy your commentary, but this was a fun departure from the norm. It was oddly soothing to wake up to. Newbies to your channel may benefit from an explanation of what you’re doing and why, but folks who watch all of your videos can track with what’s going on. They can just sit back and watch the magic unfold! 😊 Nice job, as always.
Thanks, Anthony! We always enjoy the videos with commentary, but we figured we’d do something a little different during this longer holiday weekend. We’ll see how it goes. 🤞
Love your work. You can also talk about life
I would actually disagree with you here. This is the first video I've ever seen about shoe cobbling (I got here thanks to it being labelled as unintentional ASMR), so every step made me very curious to find it's purpose. I can definitely tell you I'll be checking out a lot more of this channel.
Alvaro Saez Makes perfect sense. That’s why I said “newbies” (I.e. first time viewers) would find it valuable. Glad you liked the video, and I hope enjoy future ones. Trenton and Heath have a great channel and a really nice subscriber community that genuinely appreciates what they do.
I love the commentaries,,teaches me about appreciating the art of each design and execution. This is a lost art that deserves recognition. So guys talk as you choose,my ears are all open.
Thanks, Sharon! Glad you enjoyed. We may have to start mixing up some, but we do enjoy talking and sharing. 😉
Trent, would you please turn down your microphone? You have such a powerful voice that it makes the audio reverberate loudly. Heath's volume is much easier on the 'ol ears -- doesn't cause reverbs. Thanks!!
By far the best sound is the sole stitching machine. I just can’t get enough of it.
Super Satisfying hearing the whole process without any music or commentary
Ibrahim Akhtar Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
I agree completely!!!! I felt like I was in the shop watching them.
Trenton & Heath I also really enjoyed it.
This is why I love UA-cam. Things I’ve always wondered about, but would never think to look up. Well done!
Don’t mind me just leaving a time stamp for myself 1:44
@@LucaDavid855 ikr he/ she didn't even share
@@LucaDavid855 u misunderstood I was joking 😂
Sole Survivor--- just looking at your channel and you killed abbot as the pint sized slasher aha
It's our timestamp now.
@@zimmerman8733 yes
Very much enjoyed listening to the hand tools and machinery dismantling and reconstructing these boots. The sounds of the cork and heel being removed resemble those of the monster in “Alien.” Slurp, slurp......lol
I know where I am sending my dalton boots to get resoled. Great job brother!
Thank you! We’d be happy to help!
Is it bad I’m now looking for shoes that need cobbling.
@@LucaDavid855 Ha, _Sole_ Survivor.
... Get it? 'Cause he's repairing shoes?
Vauche good one
@@VolatileViolet aww dang gotta love that one!
dew drop I’m sorry how do you mess up cobbler with coddler, D and B aren’t even close on any keyboard
@@mikepike. Coddle - treat in an indulgent or overprotective way. Yeah, coddle could work. think about it a bit. Drop the indulgent and cogitate on "treat in an overprotective way" in the care and maintenance/repair of footwear. It works.
I personally love the commentary... that said, I wish you would have had something with more glued leather... that peel of old glue between old leather is super satisfying!
BTW, I swore I wasn't going to subscribe because who needs shoe repair videos? Dozens of videos in, I realize I do...
RAD6150 Haha...well, we really appreciate you watching!! Glad you’re enjoying.
22:41 seemed like it went by in just a few minutes, it was so interesting! Bravo!
That’s a big compliment! Thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Me: There is no Hope for these Shoes
Trenton and Heath: Hold my Beer
❤️🤣❤️
HAHA thats awesome
🤣 right!
Pretty sure this was in my recommended because I watch a lot of ASMR and I wanted to fall asleep to it but it was too interesting! Great sounds, for sure, but great content as well, thank you!!
Same!
ASMR on steroids! Thank you. 😊
Finally, what you guys should have been doing from the beginning! This channel will blow up doing this. You could also double post the videos with added commentary after the filming. One video "no talking" and one "with added commentary" or something
Awesome!
Chad Brunswick hmm I mean they’re passing knowledge so idk if this was their idea or what they should’ve been doing but this type of video definitely amazing 😩
could just set up a tripod and hit record whenever find yourself working alone when it's quiet. No cameraman or heavy editing needed for us ASMR addicts.
I was still able to hear y’all that’s how much I’ve been watching these videos
PheonixSlayer24 Haha...that says a lot! Thank you very much for watching them! We really appreciate it.
Shhhh, guys! Don’t tell him that we’re making him do some ASMR for us.
I really enjoy the commentary, learn so much to help spot quality footwear
William Thompson We’ll have plenty more of those to come. 👍🏻
Thanks for the great video of the Dalton boot full sole and heel restoration. I helped my father in his shop back in the 1970s. I was only allowed to take shoes and boots apart and to shine and polish them after my father worked his magic. While watching this video I could hear and smell his shop. My dad had the same machines and hand tools. I guess you have some equipment that might be 50 years old or so. It is a joy to watch true craftsman at work. Thanks again.
Great story, Arthur! Sounds like a lot of good memories. Yep, many of these tools/machines are around that age.
Can you all do a video regarding the specific or generic hand tools that you typically use, which could also include a video about some of the larger equipment, the Landis machines etc. I think that'd be very interesting for some of the DIY people out there. What other tools or equipment do you all have that maybe haven't been shown in the videos, etc. I think that'd certainly be of interest to people. Fantastic work and videos!
THIS ^
Good idea
I would be on board with that idea.
Good heavens! I love the commentary. Folks can turn down the commentary if they don't care for it. I'll bet they don't understand our nice Southern accents. I'm in Alabama, y'all. I love accents.
You don’t understand
You gents are not only helping to spread a new appreciation for what we put on our feet, but also a nod to perpetuating the well dressed male, and the inside track in the gifted art of a cobbler. Well done! 😎
Thank you so much! We really appreciate that!
@@TrentonHeath
Absolutely! 👞
Speaking from the ASMR community, you guys HAVE to make more videos like this.
But with a softer outro, I nearly jumped out of my skin when he spoke! 😁
Please !!!!!
3DG Designs or at least like send them the raw files and a script and let the asmrist do the whisper commentary over it. And obviously have credits where credits are due to the respective channels.
@@ninjanaut1000 I think Heath actually has an asmr ish voice his vids are total ASMR.... for me anyway ....trents vids are great too but he is definitely louder LOL
I love the commentary! This too was very satisfying ☕️
Great work! Having watched almost all of your videos, I really learned a lot in this video. I’m a visual learner, so I enjoyed it.
Love the quiet sound of a cobbler working!
I've enjoyed all of your videos with commentary but this change from the norm was very relaxing. I look forward to what you post next!
Great job on the AEs, the sound of (almost) silence, very relaxing! Wishing you both every success in 2020 and hope the channel keeps growing the way it did this year 👍
Thanks so much, John! We really appreciate that. We’re always happy to have you following along.
Absolutely fantastic video! Extremely well done and enjoyed. Please do more of these! And such skilled artwork in what you do.
Thank you very much, Gregory! Had you enjoyed it.
oh,i want more asmr videos like this !! good job.
Thanks, Andrei! We appreciate you watching! Glad you enjoyed.
@@TrentonHeath greatings and all the best for you from Romania! 🙌
wow, incredible work! True craftsmanship!
I agree! One of my favorite parts.
Yayy! I'm watching this while sleeping😴
👍🏻😴 Hope it helped to put you to sleep.
Perfect! I love the commentary cause I like to learn about every detail you do, but this is also a beautiful almost a PoinOfView video that shows how you see the craft or experience it, just working on the shoes. This channel makes me want to be a cobbler in my next life! :D
Sarcast 😉 Thank you very much! Glad you’re enjoying them.
@@TrentonHeath I gotta ask, where can a guy get those aprons you use? :D I work with wood sometimes and those look great. Thanks!
Thank you for this ASMR video, I've liked your channel for some time but this is what made me a fan of your videos. Thank you for listening to your audience and keep up the good work, I've learned a lot so far!
Loved that video. Watching you work is amazing, but this was just icing on the cake 😀
Thank you, Brian!
UGH I love this idea
This is like what makes a film great, telling by showing
Love it
Que Dableyou Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Totally mesmerizing!! Thoroughly enjoyed the video. Sounds or no sounds, y’all are amazing to watch.
love this, my dad and gramps had their own cobblers way back,it was lovely...
Although I enjoy and learn from the running commentary, it is also enjoyable to hear the “voices” of the cobbler’s tools and the elements of the heels and soles of the boots you are refurbishing. The sounds of a skilled artisan at work are always welcome.
Thank you very much, Gretchen! You know we always appreciate you watching. 😉
I don’t mind either way, what I would like to see is a video on tools and machines you use. Keep up the good work I became a new fan about two weeks ago
Thanks so much! We’ll definitely do a video on them.
Thanks for making this video. The sounds were very relaxing. I love the different sounds and sanding. Have a Happy New Year.
Joaquin -Jack Nava Thanks. Happy New Year!!
Thank you! We’re glad you enjoyed. Happy New Year!
This was glorious!!! I am glad that I am not strange in that I love to just hear the sounds of the work on Shoes. The boots came out amazing too!!! Love it.
I love the commentary.
This was so amazing thank you!
Thank you very much, Jennifer!
Your skills speak for themselves. No need for words. This was great. Thanks!
That was a great video. Thank you for dialling the sound down for the hammering, it was a thoughtful touch.
Love the video. The exact boots I have and I’ll be having worked on at your shop when the time comes.
Thanks, Craig! Sounds good!
Your videos always make me envious of the quality and longevity of men's shoes. It is as if all women who are not mountain climbers have useless feet that do not need protection or a bit of coddling. Sigh.
diana patterson it just isn’t right, is it? 😢
diana patterson would you be prepared to accept only having a couple pairs of shoes?
@@evilassaultweaponeer Absolutely. I do not have many. Good is better than lots.
@@dianapatterson1559 Ah, then you aren't one of those who keeps two closets worth haha. Have you looked at Red Wing's Heritage boots for women? (one such model is the "Clara")
@@evilassaultweaponeer No. I've never heard of them in Canadian shops. But on your suggestion, I shall do some research. Thanks.
Hello from Ontario Canada. Love the ASMR sounds that are naturally made, not staged and pretentious. Great video.
OMG!!! This is so soothing n relaxing. Who knew
This was really interesting. Thanks. Good job.
Thank you, Karen! Glad you enjoyed.
Better than when they were new. Amazing talent.
Even added the hammering of the cork, but made it quiet... top tier work guys. Love your vids
There is something so satisfying about a cobbler's job. I guess it has to do with working with your hands and repairing something bringing it back to life in the process. Similar to working on cars and hearing the engine starting for the first time. There is a great feeling of accomplishment and overall satisfaction. Great work guys!!! You'll be getting some of my business soon...
Thank you. Want a job? 😀
Very relaxing to watch. Feels like I'm watching a work of art.
Thank you, Beto! Glad you enjoyed.
I love watching your video. You have done it again as usual. Quality repair, quality craftsmanship, and upgrade. JR leather sole, triumph toe plate, with combination leather rubber heel top with brass nails. Better than Allen Edmonds recrafting. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Job well done 👍
Olatusi Jazz Thank you so much! We really appreciate you watching!
I've been watching youtube since it's inception and this is literally the first video that I've ever seen where the channel host changes the norm, just because they know there are a few of their subs that would like it. Fantastic way to be, guys. So beautiful. Thank you!!
You guys make it look easy, keep this beautiful art alive my friends. The sounds are music to my ears.👏
Two questions: Do you guys ever accidently stab yourselves with those tools? Is that acetone you squirt on the soles and are you worried about absorbing it into your skin?
He does have a bruise on his fingernail so
3 questions*
I always wondered how re-corking worked. I think this was the first time you ever showed it.
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship as always. thanks for another great video!!
That was awesome! The boots are super sharp. I love this channel and enjoy both your instruction and the sweet sounds of the art of shoe repair.
UA-cam advises creators to expand interest from viewerships! You listened👏🏻👏🏻‼️
We like to mix it up every now and then. Glad you enjoyed!
This was wonderful as a bit of a switch up. I always enjoy your videos - the start to finish process is very satisfying to me! You're great! Keep the videos coming 💖
Thank you so much, Monica! We always appreciate you watching.
Love it! Beautiful. I love the commentary videos as well. Looking forward to your next upload!
Thanks for this sleep video ❤️🏴
Those look so good I wouldn't even wear them
Think I'm developing a shoe fetish watching these videos. 😂Amazing job guys!!
You should probably add that disclaimer to our videos. 😉
A couple of months ago I was looking for barbershop videos but today I found this channel!
Content is pretty solid to me and seeing your craftsmanship and expertise is just astounding!
Eye catching change of pace in this one. Evidently when it comes to making cool videos Trenton and Heath can do no wrong. Happy New Year guys.
Same to you!!
This was great!
BUT please don't stop doing the regular commentary videos!
Thanks, Buck! We’re definitely continuing with the commentary.
13:29 is the Jared Leto scene in Fight Club. “I just wanted to destroy something beautiful.”
I love this, but the commentary is great as well. Keep doing both and continue with all of the great content! Thank you!!!
Trenton and Heath you are true artisan's your attention too detail in your craft is so great too see .I enjoy your videos , and your knowledge.
👍Nice. I love it. Thanks. 💞
It’s interesting how....nevermind....I fell asleep and forgot what I was gonna say. 😐😴
LovingAtlanta Hahaha. 😴
I fall a sleep like at 10 min he he this one is good :)
Haha...glad you enjoyed! 😴
Loved this video, very ASMR! I enjoy the commentary videos too, both are relaxing to watch real craftsmen do work they love.
That was absolutely fantastic.
Can't believe I just spent over 20 minutes watching shoe repair. I was engrossed from start to finish and totally amazed at the level of skill and craftwork that goes into repairing these shoes.
Amazing work!
callum mackenzie thank you so much!
I took care of some personal admin I'd been putting off while listening to the audio of you working. Before I realized it I'd fallen into the flow and got a lot of work done without even realizing it. Thank you for branching out and doing this; I'll be using it again.
Nepenthe Glad you enjoyed...and were still able to get work done. 😉 We May do more of these “quieter” videos.
11:36 Elegant Oxford shout out!
Edgar Martinez Haha...that was a customer in the background. As soon as she said that, I turned to Heath and said “free shout out”. 😉
BRAVO👏🏽! Absolutely sublime!
I had no idea how much work goes into this. Well done!
Is the liquid you’re pouring onto the sole just water or a special solution? If so, what do you need to wet the sole materials for?
That's acetone, a solvent. It is used to cause the glue or cement to release the outsole being removed.
I think they weth the JR soles to make them a bit softer to work with.
Heath's voice and accent are a couple of the best parts though.😟
I don't know if I've enjoyed a video more than this! I was looking for something to help me sleep and I got hooked watching this. I had no idea how much it took to put together a show. Also, I love those boots. Thank you!!
There is no shoe or boot out there that looks better with corduroy's than then boot they're working on today. I've GOT to get me a pair of those. That video practically went ASMR on me. Loved it. Nothing like watching a real master craftsman at work. Thank you.
I guess Peyton Manning took his voice back!
That’s funny;he does sound like Manning.
Lol holy crap, it does
Sounds nothing like Peyton Manning but ok...
Where was this video when I had toddlers that wouldn't sleep?
I've watched so many of your videos now, I feel like an expert when it comes to shoe and boot construction! I enjoyed this video but I love hearing the commentary as well. Awesome content and look forward to new videos and instruction in 2020. Hopefully your nail heals quickly ;)
Absolutely amazing. Not even two minutes in and I feel so great already!
Without the narration, the craft seems markedly more solitary.
Im thinking this is very much intentional ASMR
Yes ASMR!!! This is what I've been waiting for. Great job!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very satisfying to see such a high caliber of real craftsmanship. Motivated me to clean up and condition my work boots!
