Sales roles can get pretty high in comp. I've seen Solutions Engineers get $150+ and Account Managers get $250+ pretty easily. But their tenure usually isn't long unless they're really good
Some of these salaries are bonkers. I check Levels every once in a while, it gets more depressing every year. At 9YOE (looking at staff in the next 2-3 years), my salary has actually gone down, with inflation included, over the last 5 years. That's just the norm in my region, if anyone's thinking of moving to "silicon slopes" for work, I really don't recommend it.
San Diego really punching above its weight on the top cities list. I wonder if that's a lot of CA companies hiring mostly remote, in the same state. The local market has a reputation for mid pay from defense & biotech companies, although larger companies are slowly growing presence here.
Like Chris said, I think ML engineer is a more common title. ML Engineers get paid on average even more than a standard SWE, since it is quite niche and usually requires more higher education

Oh and yeah Coupang is huge, but they don't do remote so you have to live in a place like Mountain View to even get in there.
Thanks for the context! Didn’t know that

I was delighted to see that! The weather, surfing, and salaries make me think that I may want to consider a move to San Diego from Washington DC 👀
Super valuable data - pay transparency is much needed
You’re good in front of a camera dude
The BGM is awesome!
Noob question- what is BGM?
OMG!
10:42 lol. Cruise shut down in November
HAHAH go figure- that's funny. Yeah the self driving industry is not in a good place at all lol
How much can an AI engineer make?
I don’t think there is a title like that in general. A close role is Machine Learning Engineer. Let me know if u find something.

There are SE1s who get paid that much 😭 no shot
