After Chester Bennington commited suicide after Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Audioslave) she wrote a long comment about it, about how life is tough but we are never alone, our mistakes and imperfections are what shape us into becoming better version of ourselves later on, but we gotta keep believing that even tho something seems like and endless problem is not, it does gets better so she got inspired by that and then wrote this song. The lil girl is suppose to represen her own youger self, in the video you see her experimenting a loss of someone (might be her sister) then she runs away from the pain as she is remembering in the bus stop, until she stops and then the video goes like into her mind. Where this lil girl is like trapped, until she finds her own older self and both embrace each other's imperfections, she is singing to herself in the vid, Don't surrender, we are alive, we can outrun all the dark and sad events of ourlives, at the end they became one and you see the band and Amy going out of the water like breathing into life, hence why she in the end is like standing face up to the pouring rain and smiling, like feeling the life. Its a beautiful song, the orchestra and programming just sound so powerful. Is not rock bc people already told you Synthesis was all about using those 2 elements they've always used minus the hardcore drums and riffs. I love the album bc is an insight to their background sound but put in the forefront and taken to a whole another level. As usual I liked a lot your honest reactions keep it up bro ;)

Hey Jeff. I feel the little girl represents the people left behind after someone dies because of depression or anything else for that matter. Amy is singing about lifelines. How you are not alone. Someone will always love and help you imperfections or not. Don't surrender, someone will always be there. At least that is what I feel when hearing this song. I wanted to bring up a point about Amy's musical genius. Did you notice in the Bridge how flat the piano was? How frantic? Only she can make something so flat sound so brilliant. That part always gets me.

The beginning is so important. It is her reflecting on her child self coming home at age 6 and her sister just died. The video has multiple meanings, but she is her and her child self in video.

I was so glad that Synthesis brought back their instrumental tracks. The last time Evanescence did that was all the way back on their demo album Origin (2000). My top two instrumental tracks from their pre-Fallen days are "Ascension of the Spirit" and "Eternal" (which part of this track was used in "The In-Between"). I think this is their first time combining two tracks together in full for a music video, which is why it's also their longest music video XD. Although, as of now, Eternal rains supreme for Evanescence's longest song at 7 minutes and 22 seconds! Seeing the list of songs that will be released for The Bitter Truth there is a good chance they'll continue doing instrumental tracks thankfully. Ok so far you've reacted to 10 out of the 17 official music videos according to your list of videos. Not sure if any were deleted so I could be off. I do remember you saying you already saw "Bring Me To Life" and one other I can't remember what title you said it was. So I guess that makes it 10 out of 15. For me this is the most magical song out of Evanescence and one that I consider as Masterpiece! In fact I can give you my own interpretation of this song. Whenever I see this music video and also this little girl I'm thinking about myself. Sometimes you have to accept all your imperfections to move on. If you won't accept yourself, the struggle with those imperfections might be even eternal. I know this truth is very harsh and deep. Still despite that my life isn't very long, that is what life and God that I'm believing in taught me. Huge congratulations from Poland for reacting to this song! I'm very grateful. :)
