When the first bunny finally engraved, your AYE!!! made me LOL! Super Cool test, and yummy too! 😄
Thank you!
The M1 has a Batch mode which is supposed to identify similar objects and copy the image and immediately paste it to all objects in the same alignment. Could you give that mode a shot to show if that's a simple and accurate process?
What? I wish I knew that! I will try to come up with another scenario to test that with and will included in an upcoming video. Ill also reply here to let you know as well.
Oh man. I found it. It's called "Smart Fill" and its amazing haha. Thanks for the tip! Ill be sure to include it in a video soon.
I was told you couldn’t use your machine on food and other materials. You had to choose to use it for food or use it for crafty materials. What’s your opinion?
Thanks
This is awesome can't wait to try it out..
I will!
LOVE macaroons!
Us too! BTW, the M1 engraving did not make a difference at all in the taste of them.
wow looks great
Thank you!
Fun watching this video
for those trying to just get the settings , 100% power 50mms
Thanks for sharing!
This was a great starting point but I'd say test a few first as recipes and designs will vary slightly and likely affect results. I started with these settings when I did some and nearly burnt through the top piece with the same 10W M1. After trial and error I settled on 50% @125mms for the more solid image and 65% @125mms for text that I created in the software. The thicker the lines, the more heat builds up and you need to dial back a bit on the power. Thank you so much for showing this though to give me a launch point!
I wish we could turn of the snap to feature then we could place things on random pieces easily
Same here. The only way around it now is to get it close then manually edit the numbers under the X/Y coordinates.
I’m wondering. Would this work on chocolate? Assuming later is heat, it might melt chocolate. .
Good question. I suspect it would melt too quickly and not be clean looking.
Could you do a tutorial with chocolate. @monkey
Thanks for these videos! How accurate would you say the camera is for allignment? I would like this machine to perform print and cut similar to a silhouette cameo which is very accurate.
I have seen people in the Facebook group talking about doing that. although I have not tried it out myself.
You into leather crafting? I hear it can burn cut leather . Not with blade. Well, maybe not 3-4mm or what I will cut. This machine seems great for doing that kind of work in batches. Might use it for that too
I have never tried that but have seen others in the group use cork leather?
@@MonkeyWoodworks not sure what cork leather is but have half a cow (forget the thickness) and will try soon. They sell patterns online that are royalty free. And will try cutting snake skin, iguana skin too, with blade or laser w.e. works , for exotic leather crafting. I'm in South Florida with invasives
@@MonkeyWoodworks check out corter leather on UA-cam. He sells patterns on his site and I've spoken to him; royalty free, can be used for such projects. Has purses and all. Maybe m1 will just print/cut it; to be glued, stiched and sold
Brilliant! Can you do the same on the P2?
I think you can. Mine is well used and would never eat anything that has been engraved from mine. It's no longer a food safe environment haha
😂
That is so cool. Is that safe to eat?
It is if your engraver is clean. This was one of the first few things I did on my laser so it was ok. Now that I have cut/engraved all kinds of things on it, I wouldn't trust to do it again.
Could you do a tutorial working with a bar of chocolate?
Hmm. Does that even work?? I suspect it will melt too quickly or perhaps make the engraving/score and fill back in with the liquid chocolate around where the laser was at.
Some guy in the group said hjs machine burnt through the aluminum foil doing a laser cut. Not sure if it was the 5w or 10
Mine did yesterday. I'll talk about it on my next video.
nice
My automeasure always says I'm offline even though I'm hooked up by USB. Any suggestions
Are you using the latest version of the software? I believe they are on version beta 5.6. Also, have you tried hitting the Connect button next to the picture of the M1 at the top right of the screen to connect it?
Is safe engrave food or are only decoratives cookies ???
It is food safe however once you start using the engraver for other things other than food, you will accumulate toxic fumes and particles inside your M1. I would not recommend using on food products after that.
Just get an edible printer
How's the wifi connect? The machine to your wifi and then your phone to machine? Or can you use a wifi Hotspot and connect the machine to that. And use your phone? I plan on using a bestek pure swine 300 inverter and throwing this m1 in the back seats of my car for now... not sure if I should buy a cheap windows laptop with USB port.
The m1 output is 130w
I do not use the wifi so I am not sure how well it works. I do see in the group that it seems to work ok. Where I use it in my garage, the signal is too weak.
Try chocolate
I hear you can do it on chocolate but I haven't tried it personally. Not sure how cold it needs to be to keep from instantly melting but I bet it would smell amazing
try smart fill ?
I didn't know that existed until a couple of days ago! It would have really helped. I demonstrated it in video 5 though.
Too tall?
The M1 has a limit on how tall the material can be on the base plate. The cookies I had were over that limit so the laser would not be able to focus on it properly and engrave it. So I had to remove the base plate setting the cookie on the table top the M1 sits on so that it will work with the laser.
