This was great. I've got some questions as well as a suggestion for next year. First of all, did they actually build cars with a telegraph system inside? Second was the morse code during the messages sequence actually mean something? Those are it for the questions. Now for a suggestion for next year (based on "How the Grinch Stole Christmas"), maybe what happens it that the Hinton Railroad is hosting a Christmas Party. In order for this to happen however, a train full of Christmas supplies has to be shipped in by train. Unfortunately, the engine pulling the train the mean SP diesel, Wheeler, who is still frustrated from his last visit (or any other visits if he appears before Christmas 2023). When he finds out what the train is for when he arrives, he sleekly hides the train, so the engines of the Hinton railroad won't have a Christmas party at all. When the others find the train is missing, they are sad at first but remember that Christmas wasn't about parties, it was about family and still have a party even without decorations. Wheeler gets mad that his plan backfired and leaves Hinton. Great episode all the same and I can't wait for episode 36.
Ooh I love the idea! And about the telegraph car, I found a document about the city that was once at Promontory Summit, and I found a photo of a car there with a caption underneath saying that it had a telegraph inside or something like that, so yeah it looks like telegraph cars were a thing!
