Oh, Sister! May the Lord bless and keep you always! You are speaking the truth. I was brought up in a United Methodist church and, although one lady who attended was known to pray in tongues, none of us were taught of the Holy Ghost baptism. I met some neighbors who taught me. I was at first very analytical about tongues and thought of some of the things of which you spoke. But finally the Lord lovingly convinced me that I could speak in tongues, too. I was reading the scripture in Acts 2 that says they were all filled with the Spirit and spoke in tongues. The Lord really opened my eyes there. I thought, “If they ALL were filled and spoke,” then that means me, too! I was so excited. I went to my friends’ house and told them and they prayed over me and it didn’t happen. But because the Holy Spirit had convinced me I would, I wasn’t discouraged. So that very night, after my family was all in bed, I started to THANK God for the Holy Spirit. Then I, like you, decided to speak out in faith and see what happened. And I prayed in tongues so joyfully. I quickly made my way down the hallway, praying in tongues again, and shook my husband awake. I said, “I got baptized with the Holy Ghost and I pray in tongues! He really IS alive!” I had been a child of God for a long time and I already believed Jesus had been raised from the dead, but now there was a greater “knowing.” I’ve always been one to over think things but I try to come to God more as a little child. He truly wants us to believe He loves us and He is willing to be as close to us as we want Him to be!

Halleluja! Seek and you will find! I was saved in Israel 52 years ago and baptized with the holy spirit but not knowing that it is possible to speak in tongues. God convinced me about it and after some time, being back home in Sweden, as a new stage in my worship of the Lord, I started to speak in tongues and since then I am doing it every day. It strengthens my faith! Thank you for your testimony God bless you Anna!

Its for everyone thats saved. I was saved at 22. I was raised in a church that believed the gifts and speaking in tongues was no longer for today. Just a couple of weeks after being saved I was home by myself praising and thanking God. After a few minutes I was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues. I did get saved in a pentecostal church service. I continued going to a pentecostal church. So happy you have recieved.😊❤

Tongues, according to the Bible, have to be understandable languages that are spoken by other people. They are not incoherent gibberish, for lack of another word. Kindly consider the following precedence at Pentecost.
Acts 2:6: "Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language".
Acts 2:7: "And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilæans?".
Acts 2:8: "How hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?".

Stop praying and asking for it, just do it. Jesus actually taught that we imagine what we want, knowing we'll recieve it. We don't work from a place of not having it. This is the way the church (and society in general) has been taught for centuries, it is incorrect. Read the Gospel of Thomas please. Gregg Braden also explains this concept from his research into the Nag Hammadi Aramaic scriptures.

    • @patriciaw4270

@davidm gospel of Thomas isn't in the Bible, why would you recommend something that isn't a part of the Word of God?

    • @davidm1149
      @davidm1149 Місяць тому

@@patriciaw4270 You've taken the word of pastors and teachers with limited knowledge of scripture thinking the 'bible' is 'divinely inspired'. You'll be caught short if you wish to view the KJV bible as "God's word" (and which "god" you're referring to specifically, also what's to be meant by this term) . The Book of Revelation can only be seen as a largely pagan book, if you wish to get technical. Only scant passages in the bible are considered to be divinely inspired. Most are legends, myths, and wisdom tales conveying spiritual concepts and truths. The story of "Jesus" is modeled after the ancient sun religion's 'messiah'. How about our story of "Paul", curiously similar to the writings of Homer, with conceptual arrangements aligned with the works of Plato. Or the story of "Moses", exactly similar to the earlier King Sargon of Akkad (in the kings list also). "Jonah and the whale", a direct copy of the "Dag Gadol".. The creation epic of Genesis is a synthesis of several creation myths, as is the "flood" of Noah, storied in legends throughout the world. The first chapter of 'Psalms' was written by the egyptian pharaoh Akenaton. Many books also are not in the "bible" which should be (the book of Enoch for one), but were kept out due to the priesthood's fear that people would have too much information, degrading their control and domination. The gospels are also not the work of Jesus' disciples, but the product of the Piso family of Rome (Cornelius Piso mainly), as was 'Acts', Romans, and many Paul's letters. Their names are encoded within the text, which was taken from the "Q" manuscript as a source document. Viewing the bible as "God's word" (usually purely out of religious fear) is an individual choice, and can only be considered religious superstition. The jewish wisdom books and parts of the prophetic books can only be considered as pure spiritual revelation, all else is man's own fabrications, albeit men with divinized minds. The bible is also purely astrotheological, incorporating the major arcana of astrology in the stories. Exactly which part is to be considered "God's word"? The King James bible we have being the subject of heavy mistranslation, misunderstanding, editing, and outright plagiarism at best. So exactly which part of the "bible" (which, again, is not original) is to be considered "God's word"?

I just wanted to say that I was very blessed to hear your testimony when I saw the title of the UA-cam. I was intrigued to see a young woman like yourself talk boldly about speaking other tongues because this is one of the biggest taboos to even dare to mention in the church or to other Christians.
I’ve been saved for 38 years and I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking other tongues when I was 19 years old at a FGBMI . I know it may sound strange when I say this, but I did get baptized in the Holy Spirit after praying a prayer for the baptism in the front of a New Testament that I was given at a FGBMI MEETING.
After about I would say three weeks of praying this prayer I received it. My body was shaking and vibrating. I was being baptized in such love wave after wave was going over me while I was lying on my bed while I was looking at all these grotesque, Heavy Metal posters, and pictures I had on my wall at the time being a “Metal Head” I had such a love for these angry grotesque guys an unexplainable love.
But the weird part was that the tongues wanted to come out of my mouth and no one taught me no one ever told me so I’m praying something I have no idea or understanding what this is about where it’s found in the Bible.
So I fought really hard to keep my mouth shut and was kind of scared to be honest and kind of wanted this to be over because of the tongues that was scaring me I mean this is God doing something in me (not the devil I didn’t pray to the devil) I prayed the prayer of salvation from the FGBMI New Testament as much as I did for the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
But the worst part was that my abusive alcoholic stepfather was pulling up in the driveway right next to my bedroom so I think praying really loud in tongues or anything like that would’ve been World War III . 😱
He was already persecuting me and hating the life that I was living for Jesus. He was screaming at me the one day he can’t understand me how I go from one extreme to another basically listening to Heavy Metal, dabbling into things that were of horror and satanic themes and now I’m going to Church almost every day to Christian meetings outside of our town with my Uncle Albert, (who led me to the Lord,) Christian music, preaching messages on my radio in my bedroom that he obviously heard.
My stepfather eventually got tragically killed in a car accident, when he and my mother were separated. He was following his “girlfriend” in his car.
About a week or two after my baptism in H. S. in my room I went to another monthly FGBMI meeting and I explained to my Uncle what happened when I got baptized with the Holy Spirit and he asked me if I spoke another tongues and I said no I held it in because I didn’t know what it was!
So he had some brothers in the Lord, who were in charge of this meeting come around and pray for me to receive the gift of speaking other tongues and boom! it started flowing out of my mouth as I understood I had to do the talking I had to do the yielding.
It was beautiful! It was amazing!
I remember one night living at our new house. Our family moved into and I was praying and tongues in my bed at night and my mother yelled out “Johnny go to sleep. Be quiet!”
My family used to talk behind my Uncle’s back and laughed at him when he first got born again, so I know they were doing the same thing to me obviously. But I didn’t care.
But now I found out the importance of water baptism, and my pastor said to invite your family, your friends, blah blah blah well, I invited my family, and that was a big mistake because my mother said that I was already baptized, and my stepfather was angry and said if I get baptized, he’s gonna throw me out my bedroom window, which was two stories up And he’s gonna walk down the church aisle and punch my Pastor in the face.
So I told my Pentecostal Pastor the situation and what my stepfather threatened and he said “don’t worry about it you just obey God.”
Everything was fine and life continued on, but I just came to the place in my life at 19 where I felt I had to leave home because I’m a young man now done school, and I wanted to have my freedom as a Christian to fast and pray and serve the Lord without being questioned or harassed.
Yeah, go tell and explain to your unsaved mother “I’m on a seven day fast, so I’m not gonna be eating any of your meals!” LOL!
So this young Canadian teenager decided to move to Toronto to try to make it in professional soccer, which a door did open up, but didn’t lead to what I was hoping for because God had other bigger and better plans.
As I am writing to you right now in Canada, I have been working for Canada Post as a mailman for 24 years, which right now I’m in bed rather than being at work because we are on strike for the last three weeks waiting for my Union to convince my boss to give us a pay raise that they promised, and that we desperately need because of inflation.
Anyways, I am very happy again to hear your story Anna of how you received the promise of the Father. (John 14:16-18)
It is so amazing how we can speak mysteries unto God praying things that we don’t understand about, but the Holy Spirit does it’s incredible! 38 years I’ve been praying in tongues, and I know how much the devil hates it and because of that, I love it even more!
Sometimes I can’t help but get into debates with people on Facebook or UA-cam or Instagram to defend the gifts of the Holy Spirit that are still available to the church his body today. I encourage you to do the same as well and do not let anyone convince you otherwise that this is not for every Christian.
Because Paul did say, I wish that ALL of you spoke another tongues.
    (Acts 2:39, 1 Corinthians 14:5)
I too have read Jackie Pullinger‘s testimony in her book “Chasing The Dragon.”
And lastly, my favourite Aimee Semple McPherson who founded the Foursquare Gospel Church.
4 Square means 4 things they strongly believe. # 1 believes in salvation, #2. the IMPORTANCE of baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in other tongues
    # 3 healing for the body and # 4 the soon return of Jesus Christ.
As one who speaks in other tongues I would highly recommend that you get the book (that I’m reading right now that I’m 90% done) is called “THIS IS THAT” by Aimee Semple McPherson. Read it 🆓FREE online here (www.biblesnet.com/aimee-semple-mcpherson-this-is-that-personal-experiences-sermons-and-writings.pdf )
I just finished her biography by Blumhoefer called “EVERYBODY’S SISTER.”
But first you need to know, you should not believe the lies that have been spoken against her for years and years even to this day they say that she faked her death to have an affair with her radio man.
She was exonerated and proven innocent in court for those charges and false accusations. From the fruit of her ministry I know she did no such thing. This was an attack of the devil . Back in the 1920s you have to remember newspapers were looking for the most juiciest gossip that they could print.
Mr. Hearst the owner of a big Los Angeles newspaper wanted to destroy her reputation and of course her church/ministry.
Well, why, not when the devil hated the wonderful work that she did for the Lord all over the world. In fact, during the Great Depression of 1929, she fed 1.5 million people from her church in Los Angeles from her Commissary. Even finding people shelter as well as jobs.
Of course the devil was angry .
The videos I would highly recommend for you to watch on her would be.
    1. Her children Robert’s and Rolf were interviewed in the 1970’s by Kathryn Kuhlman. ua-cam.com/video/-slt7K8Utkg/v-deo.htmlsi=SIlubgCcYMRw-0w0

Nice to hear your testimony. I had been born again and doing evangelism and prophesying for 9 or 10 years before I received the gift of tongues. I had all these people who would tell me that I wasn't saved if I didn't speak in tongues, and I staunchly defended that the gift of prophesying was greater than the gift of tongues and that the Bible says that not every gets the gift of tongues. Then one day a woman came to me and told me that God had told her to tell me to ask for the gift, and within two weeks I was speaking in tongues and within a month I was singing in tongues. That was probably ten years ago, and I sing in the Spirit most days, and write new songs based on the melodies that I sing. Have you a good singing voice? If you do, ask the Lord if He wants to give you singing in tongues as well. My "spiritual daughter" in Israel received singing in tongues right after speaking in tongues after she had been born again a few years. Still, evangelism is my strongest gift and God gives me opportunities most days, so be bold in sharing the gospel in these last days.
I say the baptism of the Holy Spirit is proven by the evidence of love first, and then whatever gift He gives should be used regularly. But I do have some sisters in Christ who do not have tongues, but have other spiritual gifts that are evident and they do evangelism as well. You have 37 comments (God shows me numbers all the time) and 37 in Strong's concordance means- to make holy, sanctified. Have you learned about the pre-Tribulation rapture? I have been doing videos for over seven years telling people to repent and get ready to fly. God bless and Maranatha.

Thank you very much for stepping out to share your testimony about speaking in tongues. I would also like to share my testimony in hope that this is an encouragement to you and to anyone else who reads this. My apologies that it is long, but it provides a pretty complete picture of my process in coming into this.
When I became born again, I was filled with the Holy Spirit at that time, but did not speak in tongues. As I read about what Paul said about eagerly desiring spiritual gifts, speaking in tongues was one of them that I desired. I recall being prayed over a number of times to receive the gift, and I was expecting for something to come over me and cause me to speak in tongues, but that never happened. At that time, some would tell me that I simply needed to open my mouth and start uttering whatever came out. Between feeling very self-conscious about that and also thinking that I would only be producing my own babble, I did not allow the gift to manifest. Even if I wanted to do it when I was alone, I still felt self-conscious and thought that it was silliness for me to just start uttering. I let it go for a while, but I still desired the gift. One day I read a teaching about praying in tongues where someone said they felt that it was just themselves doing it and that it wasn’t real. The teacher replied “of course it feels like yourself doing it, it is YOUR spirit bringing forth the words, but the words are given by the Holy Spirit“. At that point, it became enough confirmation to me to at least start experimenting with it. As I started to utter whatever came out, it felt very awkward to me, but I pushed through. I still had doubts to overcome, and in the next few years following I would pick it up and then drop it, still thinking it was just my own gibberish. However, I could not let go of a constant inner tug I had to exercise it. I read in Corinthians where the apostle Paul said that he wished that everyone spoke in tongues. I don’t believe that was mere wishful thinking on Paul’s part, but he knew that God would not hold it back from anyone who wanted to receive that gift.
Then one day a number of years ago, something happened that settled all this for me. I had a very upsetting thing happen to me during my workday. I decided to leave it with God and went on with my day, and while I was busy through the rest of my day, the incident did not bother me. However, that night I woke up in the middle of the night and began to stress about what had happened. I quoted scripture such as casting all my cares on the Lord, giving thanks, asking God to remove the stress etc, but nothing worked. In spite of constantly turning my anxiety over to God, it continued to grow as I lay there in bed. After about 45 minutes, I was completely exasperated and thought to myself that the only thing I have left to do is to pray in tongues. I began to do that and within 10 seconds, literally, I came to complete peace about the situation. At that point, I realized that there was spiritual power in what I did and that I was fooling myself to think it was only my own gibberish. After I came to peace, I decided to test how effective this really was, and I tried focussing on the issue to see if my anxiety would return, and it simply would not happen. It was as though I was completely inwardly guarded. Since that time I have prayed in tongues much more in my private life, and the Lord often moves on me in various ways, ranging from weeping, to laughter, to peace and calm, to being very forceful as though I was doing spiritual warfare. The interesting thing about that is, as soon as I stop praying I am at complete rest and peace. Then once I start again, whatever way God was moving continues on. At times it seems difficult to pray in tongues, almost like I have cotton stuffed in my mouth. But if I persist, I do come to a point of breakthrough and then it flows much more naturally.
Just like you mentioned, I also find that as I give myself to praying and tongues consistently, revelation from scripture tends to flow naturally, and it is also a help in the ministry I do. I love it whenever that happens, and also when I see people light up after giving them an encouragement. At times I am told that it is exactly what they needed to hear in the moment. I give God all the credit for this.
There are also times where I get a sense of what I am praying in tongues and will then also pray out what is in my mind. Perhaps this is what the apostle Paul means when he says “I will pray with my spirit, but I will also pray with my understanding” (1 Cor 14:15).
Lastly, I believe there are two facets to the gift of tongues. One facet is a personal prayer language that we use to edify our own spirits, give praise to God, and through which we are personally built up. The other facet would involve the use of tongues and interpretation in a corporate setting, which is used to build up the body of Christ. Paul explains this at length in 1 Cor 14.
I am very thankful to be exercising my personal prayer language, and I am very happy for you that this is now part of your journey with God. Thanks again for sharing!

It was for the Early Church in Acts. All the people heard the gospel of Jesus Christ in their own language. Tongues is when people truly understand what is being said, or there is at least ONE interpreter.

Please be careful in what words you tell yourself or what others tell you. I was in a women’s Bible study years ago and there were 2-3 women who “spoke in tongues” and it started much conversation. The rest of us were praying for the gift of tongues. It finally was just myself and my friend Sharon that still had not received the gift. One day I received a call to come to Sharon’s quickly. I went right over and was taken aback by what I saw. She was fresh out of the shower and was wearing a see through nightgown, sitting on the couch with her legs and feet crossed. Her hair was wet and in her face. She rocked back and forth and her eyes seemed glazed. She just kept saying gibberish. I was told that she had received the gift of tongues! My spirit was not calm at what I was seeing and I felt The Holy Spirit was ushering me to leave, which I did. I prayed for days and I cried as well because I desired this “gift” and why was it being withheld from me? One morning I was vacuuming and three foreign “words” came to mind when I wasn’t thinking of anything. I stopped vacuuming and I said the words out loud. Instantly I heard, “There! You spoke in tongues. Big deal! Don’t you realize you can just talk to me?” I instantly had peace on the subject. There were times, while in prayers years later where I lapsed into tongues for short bits and then it just stopped. I opened a Christian Bookstore years later. One woman who attended a Pentecostal Church came in often and we had many discussions. One day she said, “ I see that The Holy Spirit works with you, and He works around you, but He doesn’t work IN you…because you don’t speak in tongues!” I looked at her calmly and asked if she could tell me the Fruits of the Spirit. She did. I said, you didn’t say anything about Speaking in Tongues as evidence of the fruits of The Holy Spirit. I then asked her if she had seen any of the fruits of The Spirit in me. She said yes, BUT you don’t speak in tongues so you don’t have The Holy Spirit IN you. I felt sad for her! This is NOT written in The Bible that you MUST speak in tongues as proof you’re saved! I have been in a church where everyone was speaking out as if speaking in tongues and I couldn’t wait for the service to end and get out of there. There never was an interpreter! There must be an interpreter when tongues are spoken in Church. There was only babbling. How is Yahweh glorified in that? Am I against speaking in tongues? Certainly not. I sometimes worship for hours daily. I absolute LOVE our Father, I LOVE Jesus and I look to The Holy Spirit to aide me in my prayers and to give me understanding in all that He wants to teach me. I also have not spoken in tongues for over 20 years now. Please, not to sway you away from speaking in tongues, but, just concentrate on talking with Jesus every day. Have a thankful heart when praying to Our Father in Heaven. And rely on The Holy Spirit for understanding of God’s Word. One more thought if I may. When the Disciples received The Holy Spirit and they were all speaking in tongues, what does The Bible say about what they were saying? One said They’re drunk! But what else is said? They were speaking in tongues they didn’t know…but the people who were gathered from other countries for Passover, Israelis who spoke other languages could understand what the Disciples were saying! They were speaking in known languages. Blessings to you dear one.

Nothing wrong with speaking in tongues but like anything else it can be false. Regarding your last point I do not believe they were speaking in known languages as such. It is supernatural so though they were speaking in tongues those hearing could perceive it as their own language.

Were you taught that speaking in tongues is essential for salvation? How did that impact you?
For anyone raised in strict Pentecostalism, be it Trinitarian or Oneness, what was preached at the ALJC national youth convention this Thanksgiving Day won’t be shocking-but that doesn’t make it any less harmful.
In summary, the speaker told the young people that their purpose in life is to be filled with the Holy Ghost, which they’ll know they received when they speak in tongues. He then goes on to say he has come to “bring a cure for chronic seekers,” and unpacks a few reasons why the youth may not be able to speak in tongues. One reason is because they have too much pride. Another reason is because they don’t have enough of their emotions involved; when their hands begin to shake, that just needs to get that into their tongue (where is this taught in Scripture?). He assures the youth that it’s God’s will to give them the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking in tongues, and that “God’s not a liar.” The unspoken implication is that if they can’t speak in tongues, something is wrong with them, and they’ve missed their purpose in life. (Link to the full sermon in the comments.)
The Oneness Pentecostal version of this teaching is especially toxic. Unlike Classical/Trinitarian Pentecostalism, Oneness doctrine states that speaking in tongues occurs at salvation. Therefore, if someone cannot speak in tongues, they are lost and cannot be saved. This false teaching is effectively robbing believers of their salvation, as well as keeping people back from salvation, and leaving them in despair.
The spiritual turmoil this causes those who are unable to speak in tongues can’t be underestimated. Very soon, we’ll be releasing an interview of someone sharing her firsthand account of how this doctrine left her in fear for 40 years, believing God had rejected her.
If you have been taught that speaking in tongues is a requirement for salvation, we hope this resource directory will be beneficial: bereanholiness.com/apostolic-resources/
“Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” -Acts 16:29-31
“And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body… And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?” -1 Corinthians 12:19-20, 28-30

I don't think any of the churches have the true teachings of Jesus, what they do have is a lot of emotion and excitement. I wish someone would be able to get the correct teaching in these groups,, people are without information.

The devil performs miracles and wonders. Glossalia is the perversion of speaking tongues. The true gift of tongues is for sharing the good news to people who need to hear the word in their own language that you don't speak. It's God using you to share a word not you speaking sounds to contact God. The Lord Jesus Christ died for us to have a direct line to the Heavenly Father through the Lord Jesus. The holy spirit would never use your tongue to talk to himself. Hope that helps.

Dear sister please hear me what I’m trying to tell you is all through love and I don’t want you to be sucked into the lies that a lot of people believe regarding speaking in tongues.
There is only one Biblically correct way of speaking in tongues and that is with an interpreter and to evangelize to others that may not speak your native tongue. Please, I beg you to stop going to men to ask for these questions to be answered. GO TO YOUR BIBLE. Pray yes, but also read Scripture to every day if you can. Please.
So it has to do with actual language that one does not understand prior to salvation and it is a real language. I have not yet seen one person who “speaks in tongues” nowadays do it in a way that is biblically accurate. Not one.
I can say this because I was in the occult and dark stuff like ceremonial magick and kundalini and balancing my chakras and what these people do is they mix Gnosticism and the occult and new age with a different type of “Christianity.”
They are using manipulation and deception to draw people away from the truth of Jesus Christ. Let no man deceive you.
The pastor you mentioned in the beginning, MB, is now under investigation. I’m not going deep into it because you can find it online. Do not trust what these people say just because they have letters behind their names, or because they are messianic. Test every single spirit. Test what I say in your comment section! Test everything using the word of God.
Speaking in tongues has nothing to do with salvation. When did Jesus ever talk about needing that as a sign that you are His? It’s a gift that the Holy Spirit gives when it’s appropriate for the person to have it . Again, thus far, I have not witnessed anything remotely close to biblical tongues being spoken by believers yet so far. It’s all gibberish and it’s not bringing glory to Christ in any way shape or form. It’s a counterfeit.

It is very kind of you to be concerned and your intentions are well meaning I know, but I have to say that you are incorrect in your theology because Acts 2:39 says For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself." The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call."
That means you. That means me. That means Anna.
We are we call ourselves “ continualists” you are a “cessationist.”
We believe the word of God has no expiration date like a loaf of bread.
We believe the Holy Spirit is still at work in the church today according to 1 Corinthians 14. Etc Etc.
We don’t get our scissors and cut scriptures out of the Bible saying that this doesn’t apply to us today.
If we go to our heavenly father and ask him for a loaf of bread, he ain’t gonna give us a rock. If I go to Him and ask him for a fish, He isn’t going to give me a serpent. If I ask Him for the Holy Spirit, He isn’t going to give me a demon.
I find it a wonderful thing of being baptized with the Holy Spirit and speaking other tongues and prophesying, and having the interpretation with the gifts of healing and miracles that are available for the EDIFICATION of the Church.
      1 Corinthians 14:4
When the church needs to stop having to be edified, then that is when the gifts will no longer be needed.
And so far according to the scriptures, the church today definitely NEEDS edification.
So the conclusion in that is definitely that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are NEEDED for today.
God bless you with more of His Spirit and understanding.

Do you really think that Jesus would let the devil give you his diabolical language if you asked Jesus for the gift of tongues? Because that is the other option. The day of Pentecost is not a Pentecostal invention just because Pentecostals put a lot of weight on speaking in tongues. Paul spoke in tongues, and counted it as one of the gifts of the Spirit.
