i am into all kinds of crafts. crochet, knit, embroidery, you name it. well, this week i started on the turkish knots in a loom i was brave enough to make myself, not big but trying to make a rug. i see your knot is different and i love it, especially when my wonderful brother-in-law is Persian. so i will learn this, as well. (would love to make him something with this )thank you so much for showing this. i will watch your other videos. i wish everyone can see how much work and love goes into each craft and the reason we cannot sell them cheap. only us crafters/artists appreciate the work and talent of other crafters. when i give them as gifts i love to see how they smile and have a peace of my heart with them in each item. from a puertorican living north carolina, thank you again for sharing this beautiful art!
Nice rug. :) But what you've showed us making with your bobbin is turkish (gödres) knot and not the persian (senne) knot. Gödres knot is symmetrical, and senne knot is asymmetrical. Both of them used in oriental (sometimes so called persian) carpets, though symmetrical knots mainly in Turkey and Kaukasus, senne mainly in Iran and India. Both can be made without bobbin only by fingers, or with help of other tools like hook etc. Anyway it's nice video. :)
Thank you for the video! I’d love to learn more about looms, I want to try to make my own rugs but am not sure what type of loom to buy (or make?) Thanks!
How can I repair a persian rug, that its wool "hairs" have been cut due to bugs? It has a few patches here and there. I do not have a loom and I am thinking of repairing it in its place, tha is on the floor. What kind of needle or imstrument should I use?.
To repair a rug, you don’t need any loom. Use a needle to pick the wool in between the passes. It should look like a grid, with the warps and the weft threads. So you have to fix the wool, in between those treads. I hope I’m understandable.
Thank you for such a clear demonstration of the Persian Knot. Very helpful. Much appreciation.

@@Willyarn-art Yes, thank you very much. I will try to do that DIY project. Thanks again.
Beautiful weaving ☺ Thanks.
This is not the Persian knot. It is the Turkish knot which your making.
So how do you "make a pass?" Do you just run the thread behind all the knots you made?
You come to weave over them, to fix them.
Persian knot? Looks more Turkish 2 me.
+Bongo McBongo well, it depends on the book you look into ! Sometimes, types of knots are inverted indeed
