Connect light with resistor to the output of Arduino and gnd. Connect the photosensor or another light in reverse biased in the same way but now to the input of Arduino. Connect the fan motor (pump) to arduino to another output and gnd. Place led and photosensor in such a way that the photosensor can get led light.
Programming part:
Let the function be L(x) where x has two values, 0 and 1. When x is 0, pump will be on and when 1, pump will off. This is the function of L(x). Now x is for photosensor. When we put hand, between light and photosensor, it will not recieve light and x will be 0. When we remove hand, photosensor will recieve light due to no obstracle between them and x is 1.
