Sorry to be late on commenting on this video. I am trying to paint a bluebird (facing front), that I drew. I am using watercolor pencils. My main frustration has been trying to paint the bird so that it looks like it actually has feathers. Your video was very instructive in that regard.

My mom has been an oil painter all her life, she can't imagine herself with watercolors lol but lots of my Patreons are in this transition as well and they are doing great, I'm sure you will do great too! it's all in practice, basically forgetting everything you know about painting and starting from the bottom, as a beginner. This way you don't bring oil "habits" into watercolors ;) What did you mean by adding "Back sea turtle to that right thumbnail"? I couldn't understand.. I'm still jet lagged.. maybe my brain is still not functioning right haha
Jet lagged.....Hmmm...Hope all is well. Tell your Mom she is right, and watercolors don't smell like REAL PAINT...lol! I have been working a bit with Atanur Dogan, Pres. of the International Watercolor Asssoc, an Incredibly gifted human being.......loose style......Over 4 quarts of water are used.........in the creation of each painting.......stand back!!! It Is Fun.... :) Here in Canada, The ladies occasionally have added in a manicure.....tiny diamonds/stars/figures.......sparkle painted on the finished nail....then lacquered over. Your pink fingernail...I imagined the little black sea turtle painted on.....:) I am being silly.......thank you for playing!........ :)
All good. Thank you. Flew back last night from Europe, holiday break. That's actually a really great idea with the nail polish and a black turtle :) If I can find some time I may do that, I have small sea turtle stickers already lol I think watercolors are more fun haha

I have done some paintings where I was using fluid acrylics like watercolors. Same process, the thing is that at the end the painting has that glossy look which I loveeee☺️Have fun painting and Merry Christmas!🤗😀🌷

Hi Pat, it's just another pigment in watercolors, you can put it in the same category of colors such as: Payne's gray or Indigo. Neutral tint is on a 'purple side 😃
