Here in italy most of the bars rent them because they are too expansive and basically aethernal. There are machines that cost more than 100k and I've seen a special one that comes for 450k.
I've seen photos of Swizzcar's collection...but in video it looks even better. Can't imagine in person!

These buyers see it as an investment and very often are terrible drivers. They live in their golden plated prison, with Ferraris all over the walls, but don't drive them because it would feel like giving money away. They like things immaculate, not moving, like immortal, as if they were so.

Worked at a Ferrari dealer in the 90’s stateside; drove many INCLUDING three different 512bbi Boxers; I will say the one car that’s missing is my fav: 288GTO! Love the 246 and 308!

I've been told by mechanics/technicians that it's bad for any vehicle to sit unused for a great length of time.
Cars are meant to be driven. What value has a high performance vehicle that does not perform?
Roger Smith I guess it's for resale value. And they will probably start the engine once every few weeks to stop the parts from rotting. These people have do many cars that they only drive a select few that they aren't bothered about depreciation and damage
If you've got a car in a climate controlled environment you're not going to have the seal and rubber degradation that you do if you store a car in a barn.
They also get shuffled around in there. So it's not like they're never being started anyway. A car stored in a climate controlled environment will take 30+ years to rot significantly.
Just like when winter comes, people have their cars "winterized" where they change out summer fluids for winter, like oil for running in cold weather, tires that have better traction in ice and snow and so on...If these cars are not driven regularly they are switched over to a storage state where a mechanic would come in and prepare the car to be stored/put on display for an extended period.
This involves things like draining all of the fluids like fuel, brake fluid, wiper fluid, and then either a cleansing agent is ran through each one to get out the remaining residue left or they are filled with an inert fluid that isn't corrosive and won't rot hoses or promote rust. Other things like batteries are removed (think of all the crap that builds up in something you've left the batteries in forever, same thing will happen if the car battery isn't removed.) and stored. Sometimes even tires are swapped out depending on the length of time the car is to be sitting because you don't want to waste a set of $5,000 tires by letting them sit and rot or get warped by being mushed in only one place for months or years.
Uh bud. The mechanic at jiffy lube who services Chevys probably was not referring to super well maintained and controlled garages for multi million dollar super cars.

I have the same cars ... on 1/18 or 1/24 scale diecast models :P The owner is so lucky! All those jewels in a 1:1 scale. Look at the F40, F50 and GTO Fiorano! What a brand ... proud to be Italian.

That f50 is nice and with the lighting its probably the best shot of an f50 I've seen but i still think that (darker red?) one you filmed in Japan was nicer.

Agreed, but at the same time it's nice knowing they're well kept.
The owner probably has others that he drives. The condition that these are in deserves to be kept in a garage. The ones that are driven, don't need to be so pristine. These cars are two things, pieces of art and amazing machines. You can't always treat them as both all the time.

This is awesome, but this is also so sad, knowing that those cars probably will never be driven, and that the will never move for so long, that once anyone wants to drive them, they won't be able to. It's like that 1 mile Ferrari 288 GTO, it won't run now unless you go through everything on that car. It's just heart breaking.
He actually drives these cars regularly. Lastly he drove the Enzo and the 599 GTO.

i live in switzerland and there's an underground parking in the village next to mine with an even bigger collection. there are easily 150+ cars. probably around 100 ferraris. it's crazy.

effspot well most of them belong to a dealer nearby but there are also many cars owned by people. you can go there without an invitation but they are penned up so you cannot walk through them all you only see them from a distance.

That is impossible since the collection is private and Ralph Lauren has only given 2 opportunities to see his garage, one was in 2010 and another in 2017 in a fashion show.
