  • We’ve been dreaming of scuba diving in Komodo National Park ever since we got our advanced open water certification, and there’s no better way to experience this divers' paradise than on a liveaboard.
Komodo National Park in Indonesia is one of the best places in the world to scuba dive. We booked a 5-day liveaboard boat through Liveaboard.com so we could dive 3 times a day and explore the vast underwater world of Komodo. We saw giant manta rays, sharks, turtles, colorful coral reefs and loads of exotic fish.
If you want to go scuba diving in Komodo check out LiveAboard.com link below. It's the largest scuba travel platform worldwide. www.liveaboard...

Me and my wife want to dive KOMODO on a liveaboard but we are a little worried about all the stories about crazy current. Any truth to this. How many dive sites are actually relax diving? Can someone with about 50 dives only dive in KOMODO?

Marcolovespoutine There are plenty of dive sites that are relaxing. The current can get strong (especially during full moon times) but we have under 50 dives and we’re fine.

The currents in Komodo should not be taken so lightly. However, it really depends on the dive operator you go with. Good and responsible ops will know when it is best to dive a site. They will also separate divers who have little experience from experienced divers. They might drop groups at different sites depending on the experience of the divers. Having said that, diving in currents is also a good thing... that is where you'll see some of the actions like big fishes, mantas and sharks! :)

Ben this looks so inspired. We have meant to see Komodo and Flores when in Bali but need to get around to it.

I know it's hard to leave Bali! So many great things to do there too! But if you do get the chance, I highly recommend a dive trip in Komodo!

Andreas Künzel Yes it is possible to do with just your open water certification! But it’s also a really fun way to get your advanced certification too. There were a few people on our boat who got their advanced cert within the first few dives and then the rest of the time they could come down to the 30 meter mark with the rest of us! Let me know you have any other questions!
