Regarding his personality, he's a little fluffy goofball. His sense of humor (especially for variety show) is really good. In lives, he always jokes around with fans and is quite a prankster. On the other hand, he has this lonely, insecure side about his looks (worrying that we'd leave him if he doesn't look 'perfect' anymore) and about his career - which always makes me sad hearing it and want to give him a big big hug and tell him that his look is not all he got. I mean, once you hear his singing and get to know him. The look is just a bonus. BTW, I have this dilemma whenever I go to his concerts. I want to close my eyes to fully enjoy his voice but at the same time want to spend every second looking at him and ended up looking like someone who's trying to stay awake! 😂
YESSS JAEJOONG DESERVES ALL OF THE LOVE! We need a part 2! Watching and listening to Jaejoong's journey has truly been an emotional ride. His first few solo albums seem to come from a darker place and a lot of sadness. I think he has a lot of sadness about not being with the others because he truly loved them and TVXQ. He has TVXQ tattooed on his back. I think he's the most nostalgic of the 5. He feels a lot. He also writes and composes lots of his music. Part of gaining his freedom I think was because he wanted to let his creative side out but SM didn't really let him. You can feel with his new albums released this year that he is in a much happier place. Truly I adore him so much. Since you've seen his rock side, I'd like to recommend songs that you can hear his voice better. Also fun fact his speaking voice in person is very very deep 😳. And he's been blond like 80% of his life 😂 as Jaejoong is my bias, I love to see people falling in love with him. My man has been through a lot. Can you believe he used to be tone deaf before joining SM? Another fun fact, he was crowned as cover king in Japan. Nowadays he says he's embarrassed by his old rock persona, but we all love it too much lol. His performances from military are all very good, bare, raw, just his powerful voice. If you're interested, I can leave suggestions. Mine was released during the ongoing legal battle against SM and many people believe it's about SM and his time in the company, the MV is also very symbolic. And you're absolutely right about him getting lost in the emotions, he was seen crying during performances, especially Keshou. And he totally is show off 😂 When people say he's lipsyncing because he sounds exactly as the record, he throws in highnote and makes sure to prove them wrong lol. Because I heard his rocker voice first, I sometimes found Jaejoong's parts in TVXQ songs odd, because the voice he used in those is sweeter and higher(?) in tone. To this day, I still find myself looking for the rocker voice in everything he does lol.
I also like his song Run away,, it was created by the one who compose a lot Adelle song and Jaejoong said he want to keep the feel of it... This was such an interesting watch. Thank you for actually reviewing the music. How you have spaced the video gives a good sense of who the artist is for those unfamiliar. I think that the editing and quality of the video is very good for those who want a deep dive. Not many people pay attention to Jaejoong now as he's no longer trending but he continuously puts out music. He focus has been more so in Japan the past few years. His music there has a different quality - softer and more pop/ballads/with some anime OST's thrown in. He did recently come out with a new Korean album, Borngene. It is much more pop rock than his previous works but there are some interesting tracks. I want to ask you is a very nice ballad off that album. I would recommend some of his Japanese covers. He has 2 cover albums that really show off the different colors of his voice, different singing techniques, and what sounds he can produce. The albums are called Love covers I and II. The recordings on the second one some of his best vocal work recently in my opinion. Live versions and album versions can be found on UA-cam. I always laugh at myself because from my Spotify playlist you would think I don't listen to him much, but I live off of his fancams and concert footage because he is better live than on his records. Honestly? I find no fun in his early stuff with TVXQ or JYJ. I may be bias cuz i love rock music, but i believe he was born to do rock influenced stuff. And while Runaway is a ballad that i absolutelly love, it's literally the only ballad that struck a chord with me. It's so different there's no sweetness in it or hope just bitter sadness and helplessness and his voice in the studio version is really dark and deep compared to the stuff he's known for, which is what just kills me in it and why i love it so much. That being said, he's been around the block playing with different things over the years doing solo, i like some of the stuff, but i always go back to the rock side of his. His prescience and attitude is just absolutely on fire when he's in that, he's just glowing!

Regarding his personality, he's a little fluffy goofball. His sense of humor (especially for variety show) is really good. In lives, he always jokes around with fans and is quite a prankster. On the other hand, he has this lonely, insecure side about his looks (worrying that we'd leave him if he doesn't look 'perfect' anymore) and about his career - which always makes me sad hearing it and want to give him a big big hug and tell him that his look is not all he got. I mean, once you hear his singing and get to know him. The look is just a bonus.
BTW, I have this dilemma whenever I go to his concerts. I want to close my eyes to fully enjoy his voice but at the same time want to spend every second looking at him and ended up looking like someone who's trying to stay awake! 😂
YESSS JAEJOONG DESERVES ALL OF THE LOVE! We need a part 2! Watching and listening to Jaejoong's journey has truly been an emotional ride. His first few solo albums seem to come from a darker place and a lot of sadness. I think he has a lot of sadness about not being with the others because he truly loved them and TVXQ. He has TVXQ tattooed on his back. I think he's the most nostalgic of the 5. He feels a lot. He also writes and composes lots of his music. Part of gaining his freedom I think was because he wanted to let his creative side out but SM didn't really let him. You can feel with his new albums released this year that he is in a much happier place. Truly I adore him so much.
Since you've seen his rock side, I'd like to recommend songs that you can hear his voice better. Also fun fact his speaking voice in person is very very deep 😳. Actually songs like run away and Now Is Good (which is one of my recommendations) are what his real singing voice is like. He says his voice is comfortable there and the rock sounds while that the airy angelic sound we hear like in his dbsk days or certain ballads is much more difficult for him.

And he's been blond like 80% of his life 😂 as Jaejoong is my bias, I love to see people falling in love with him. My man has been through a lot. Can you believe he used to be tone deaf before joining SM? Another fun fact, he was crowned as cover king in Japan. Nowadays he says he's embarrassed by his old rock persona, but we all love it too much lol. His performances from military are all very good, bare, raw, just his powerful voice. If you're interested, I can leave suggestions. Mine was released during the ongoing legal battle against SM and many people believe it's about SM and his time in the company, the MV is also very symbolic. And you're absolutely right about him getting lost in the emotions, he was seen crying during performances, especially Keshou. And he totally is show off 😂 When people say he's lipsyncing because he sounds exactly as the record, he throws in highnote and makes sure to prove them wrong lol. This was such an interesting watch. Thank you for actually reviewing the music. How you have spaced the video gives a good sense of who the artist is for those unfamiliar. I think that the editing and quality of the video is very good for those who want a deep dive.
Not many people pay attention to Jaejoong now as he's no longer trending but he continuously puts out music. He focus has been more so in Japan the past few years. His music there has a different quality - softer and more pop/ballads/with some anime OST's thrown in.
He did recently come out with a new Korean album, Borngene. It is much more pop rock than his previous works but there are some interesting tracks. I want to ask you is a very nice ballad off that album.
I would recommend some of his Japanese covers. He has 2 cover albums that really show off the different colors of his voice, different singing techniques, and what sounds he can produce.

As Jaejoong's gotten older the timber of his voice has dropped a bit. It's harder for him to reach those insane top notes all the time. So he's toned down some of his live performances, where he'll use the backing track a bit more and come in at other parts in the chorus. But I love listening to him live. He has a very living voice. It has more energy when performing live. I always laugh at myself because from my Spotify playlist you would think I don't listen to him much, but I live off of his fancams and concert footage because he is better live than on his records. If you want more raw vocals with no effects or editing, you may also want to check out his old army performances, there are no frills so you can hear his natural voice really well.

Honestly? I find no fun in his early stuff with TVXQ or JYJ. I may be bias cuz i love rock music, but i believe he was born to do rock influenced stuff. And while Runaway is a ballad that i absolutelly love, it's literally the only ballad that struck a chord with me. It's so different there's no sweetness in it or hope just bitter sadness and helplessness and his voice in the studio version is really dark and deep compared to the stuff he's known for, which is what just kills me in it and why i love it so much. That being said, he's been around the block playing with different things over the years doing solo, i like some of the stuff, but i always go back to the rock side of his. His prescience and attitude is just absolutely on fire when he's in that, he's just glowing!

As for songs, I basically just like anything that's got a rock sound to it lol I suppose the one's that get me the most were MINE, Just Another Girl, Big Revolution, Breaking Dawn and Dear J, a solo track from one of the JYJ albums. I like the rest of the stuff too, but those were on repeat for me.

What’s your opinions about him singing duet with KangSeungYoon? Both are powerful singer, sometimes sounds similar but at the same time feels different because of the ranges and vibe. Seungyoonie somehow feels like having more stronger and tough attitude meanwhile Jaejoongie looks fragile and softer.
