It's 2022 and many pool companies still don't offer remote control (automated) systems with WiFi! Automated control panels, pumps and valves are overly expensive! The first problem is pool owners (buyers) know little to nothing about pools before they choosing a company. Second, pool companies want to make the most money they can so, they use cheap (but overpriced) equipment telling their customers theirs is the "best". This is why I joined Swim University, so I get the best pool with the right equipment at the best price!
I see how I can automate turning the heater on, but the thing I haven't found yet is a pool thermostat. I'm picturing Nest for my pool so we can set it to be the temp we want by a given time. Have you seen that anywhere?
Thanks for the information! Im installing a new basic pool. 14k gallon, salt, gas heated, cart filter and two lights, no water feature. I want automation so can i save the $ on intellicenter and just get this pump with i/o board to control everything or do i still need intellicenter?
Three years ago I used a solar panel with a small pump to create a fountain. This attracted dragonflies which ate mosquitoes. Mosquito problem was no more. I had algae problem so I added a copper ionizer to a unit I built which is also a chlorination device and the algae was gone my chlorine levels were way down and maintenance was less than when I started all this using a mobile solar panel. I started a new job and I have no time for the pool. Sucks maybe soon I can get back to automating and will have a fully functioning product I can share.
@@CP-ov3ir life keeps getting in the way. Haven't had time for the pool this year at all. Previous years were ok but to find the time to create a video currently is not possible right now. The dragon fly thing was pretty cool. They would land on your finger when you would stick it out of the water while in the pool my girls named one of them Jefafa, the next year it was Jefafafa and so on every year they would add a fa... good times. One is off to college the other will start soon. If you have a means to put a small pump to use as a fountain you will eventually see a dragon fly or two. Put a dry branch by the pool and they will hang around all day.
I have the Polaris sport IQ pool cleaner. totally agree with other statements - it does not come "out" of the pool, it moves to the waterline so you can grab it. Also, I don't leave the robot IN the pool for chlorine to attack it, what's the point of sweeping up all the crud that gets in there if you're going to leave it IN the pool. Throw it in the pool, set it to clean, come back 3 hours later, grab it put it out of the sun (I have a deck box) after cleaning it out. That being said this upgrade from the Polaris pressure-side cleaner was night and day different. PLUS you don't have to run the pump to power it, which. for me with a dumb single speed pump would mean 3kw of power just to clean the pool. The next upgrade is certainly an automated pool pump, then valves. I can't wait to remove the mechanical timer.
I like the ideas, but the biggest problem whit automated system is that it is not protected and allowed people whit little bit of IT skills to manipulate the system and take advantage. Those devices are like open door for your network.

That’s exactly what I was looking for! Computing the system to automatically fill and manage your pool without one being presented.

Since I am a handicapped old person this can help a lot.
The Polaris lift system only lifts the cleaner to the water edge not out of the pool. You still have to be there to lift it out.

@@pg9112471 I hear that!
Feel like this topic could use an update. 3 years is a lifetime for tech and there has to be more than the 1 solution mentioned.
Try 6 years lol
Are there any systems that interstate with Google assistant/Alexa?
