I love that this house is beautiful, and yet impossible for an interior designer or anyone else to replicate because it's so authentic to HIM. Too many spaces that have been designed by someone else can only work when there are no elements of the owner's personality because it would otherwise clash with the prescribed aesthetic--it's hard to add books, art, dishware, etc. With this space, those details are a natural extension of the home's design. In fact, the design doesn't work WITHOUT these personal elements. That, to me, is the definition of good interior design.
