  • Gaper clams or some people call them horse clams are similar to pacific razor clams in texture and flavor. The difference of the two are that gapers can be found on bays versus sandy beach surfs, gapers are a lot bigger and chewier.
I personally enjoy the gapers a little more than pacific razor clams due to them being a lot sweeter and tastier. Only downfall of the gapers is that they require more time in cleaning them than razor clams.
Thank you so much for watching and stay tune for part 2 of the show for the catch and cook!

We did really well today and got a few cockles and gapers. We saw some butter clams but we rather try the cockles since we haven’t had them before. Can’t wait to see your catch and cook on these gapers

Harder way to dig for gapers/horseneck clam's buddy and there's a different way to catch them more easier to catch with a different tool where people don't know that much for catching them.

@@washingtonlife Funny thing is you go crabbing with me next time go crabbing and then go for clamming afterwards buddy. Do multiple active's at once. I did crab once got limits of Dungeness crab with red rock crabs then gaper clams in same area then go mussels catch with goose neck Barnicle like a few minutes from a different area and fishing for perch afterwards at the mussel's area. The easy way is to use a shrimp gun to catch gaper clams in sandy area.

@@washingtonlife Lamo my dude it was during summer timer and you have to leave at least 4 hours before low tide. you had to go crabbing and gaper clams. Then you go do the rest of the other activities after you move spot still remaining the low tide until the water is about to go high tides after a few minutes after low tide which is about to change to high tide. Next time listen to me and listen to my advice bro and leave early to go crabbing and do other actives after remaining the low tide times.
