Wasn't Longtail Ferncloud's mentor after Darkstripe was exiled? Firestar giving Longtail Fernpaw as his apprentice progressed his trust into longtail and improved their friendship after everything that happened before at that point (tigerstar's exile and swiftpaw's death to mention). It makes more sense and fits better for Longtail to be Fernpaw's mentor and not Dustpelt since Longtail really deserves an apprentice again after Swiftpaw and I'm pretty sure it's impossible for Dustpelt to handle 2 apprentices at once. I may be wrong, but this is how I remember in the books and I checked the warriors wiki!
@@almondsun that is what happens in the books but dustpelt wanted to take that spot and firestar said he already has an apprentice. I could get the book out and quote it but I don’t feel like it right now
@@bluesheep7 it was in Squirrelflight’s hope and she was saying that Squirrelflight might now be paralyzed and she wouldn’t want to end up like Briarlight. It was talked about a lot mainly with the disabled fans in this community and I am disabled
Daisy and Ferncloud are some of the most realistic cats in the books. In a feral cat colony, it's normal for older females to help the inexperienced ones with kitten raising - going as far as helping them to deliver while they're in labor! And all the nursing queens in a colony feed each other's kittens. Actually, fun fact about Squirrelflight; she would have been able to nurse the three in real life. Cats that adopt orphan kittens will often experience hormonal changes and start lactating. This... actually also happens to more kitten-friendly male cats, too, since they obviously don't have the same hang ups that humans do about letting kittens nurse on them lmao.
@@felinoidrose *Stares at Owlsong, my beloved background oc, who, despite really only having reason to be there when his mate is, hangs out in the nursery and helps out with kits and also is everyone’s older brother*
My suggestion for the next topic is Longtail. It's interesting how he started on Tigerclaw's side, but later on gained respect and loyalty for Fireheart/star. Especially considering that he was one of the loudest voices against Firepaw/heart from the start. He could have easily gone the same route as Darkstripe, but instead perfectly represents what Darkstripe could have been (Edit: grammar)
I suggest you talk about Deadfoot. So far he is the only deputy with a disability. His named was changed to Deadpaw because one of his paws was twisted after an event and (in Tallstar's revenge) Talltail became his mentor. After Tallstar turn leader, Deadfoot became his deputy. Also he is Crowfeather's father.
@@bananacrispies I think when talking about disability, they were specifically referring to the fact that Deadfoot can't walk properly, which is often looked down upon in the Warriors world.
@@vilmublues752 I disagree with the sentiment that deadfoot's disability is any more looked down upon than anyone elses' disabilities or in some cases extreme wounds. Brightheart suffers from people looking down on her all the time, and Crookedstar had some of the worst reactions in the series In his novella. Broken star even faced the same hardships based on his abilities, and snowkit being deaf made everyone talk about him funny. Not a single cat was really treated any different in the books besides, I would argue, Briarlight due to the circumstances of her injury and the overall positivity and support of Thunderclan at the time.
@@bananacrispies I wasn't saying that. Just saying that it's rare for someone with his disability to gain the rank he did, compared to how Cinderpelt was treated, for example (I'm ultimately talking more about how the writers treat the characters.)
I'm going to suggest Kestrelflight and/or Willowshine next. I find the Po3 generation of medicine cat apprentices to be interesting if only for the fact that as a fic writer who writes a lot of Jayfeather stuff I always have to consider them in some form or another. After all, they must have some form of a relationship to one another even if it's something strictly professional. I have a couple of headcanons already and roles they typically serve within the dynamic when I write them, but I'd love to know what your thoughts are.
Not to be That Guy but the amount of times people use "Kestrel" in their OC names (especially when that name makes no sense with their pelt, they just want to sound cool) or have straight up just used the name Kestrelfligt for their OC I feel I've already heard enough of her.
I'd love to see your thoughts on Palebird, she's an interesting yet overlooked mother, and she's different from the other neglectful mothers in Warriors (in the sense that she isn't one dimensional)
@@TheRibottoStudios She was neglectful to Tallkit, but deep down she truly did care for him. It's sad that Palebird never really got the help she needed. Mental health should be taken more seriously in Warriors.
@@stuffshadow528 exactly. I hate that people compare her on the same level as RAINFLOWER are you fking kidding me? nahnahnahnahnah stfu right now with that.
Can you imagine how cool, badass and poetic it would if Ferncloud was the one that killed Brokenstar's spirit? Ferncloud was known for love of kits and Brokenstar was known were his brurning hatred of kits. Vicki said that she knew that Ferncloud was as capable as any warrior when it came to defending the young of the clan, so wouldn't Ferncloud killing Brokenstar symbolize that? Wouldn't it have been so awesome to see Ferncloud killing Brokenstar when she protecting the nursery. It really seems like a missed opportunity.
honestly i get what vicky MEANT about ferncloud being as strong as any warrior but the fact that basically the second shes seen defending the kits she immediately dies is super weird. like let her go feral on a ghost she deserves it
@@magena120 yeah it was essentially people hating on her bc she was useless to the clan (which usually just ended up being misogynistic as well) but even then fans werent the ones writing the books lmao
@@iwakeupandboomimarat woah i can understand the uselessness thing but sexism? let's not jump to conclusions here like jeez what is it with you people and thinking that every bad thing that happens to female characters has something to do with sexism? like Jesus Christ this shit happens to every character no matter what gender let's not jump to such conclusions unless its confirmed directly
I personally would like to hear about honeyfern, compared to her two sisters it feels honeyfern doesn't get much attention or screen time, which is a shame because I feel like her death alone is far more impactful than anything cinderheart has done. Her death echos that of bristlefrost and feathertail, except instead of saving a love interest or the clans it's a kit, her heart taking control and pushing her to save this kit she sees in danger, regardless of consequences.
I never read her scene but her death in general is so sad to me because she was expecting at the time too, and because her mate got over her so quickly when the she-cat who died protecting a kit and died while expecting his kits is now dead. You'd think most people would take a while to mourn especially if their partner died while pregnant.
Honestly I always felt cheated not getting a Ferncloud reaction about Ashfur's betrayal and death. He was her only brother and I always wondered how she felt when he was killed. I'm happy she wasn't in Thunderclan to see him possess Bramblestar, but at the same time, it seems like a waste to not have the perspective of Ashfur's canonical sister looking at the leader and knowing something's wrong.
I'm pretty sure when Hollyleaf revealed she killed Ashfur (and then Brambleclaw came in with a lie to make it sound justified) Ferncloud said something like "This is not my brother, he's a bad cat", but that's really the only input we get from her and it wasn't a very emotional scene at all lol
Maybe Puddleshine? He has quite a unique story, being trained by a thunderclan cat and later having to deal with what was a basically a kitty pandemic while he was still apprentice aged.
I like Puddleshine but I don't want a whole video on him. I want him to have his own story. Why would you give a cat a cool story but not a book? Sad...
I want Moonkitti to tell me and talk to me about the sexism in warriors because it’s prevalent and mentioned a lot but never compacted into videos so we can really get to view of how bad it is sometimes. (Also like Ferncloud’s design being darker. I hate when people always make the sister lighter as if that’s more ‘delicate’ or ‘girly’. Which is just agh)
its actually weirdly common in media about animals, especially aimed at kids, to make the female animals paler/'feminine' colours. anyways dark gray ferncloud supremacy
yes i know other peopke have talked about the blantent sexism but i want moon kittys opinions on it. shes fun and i often listen in the background and have no problem listening them iver and iver again. Her voice is pleasent to listen to and like i like how she choices words. Irs nice.
Going to throw her in again. How about Sedgewhisker (and her siblings)? They're really interesting even though they're background characters, especially if you include what the Erins have said about them.
Yeah, aren’t they one of the few half-clan litters that aren’t A) part Thunderclan and B) we don’t get a huge scandalous reveal over? Am I wrong about that, please correct me if I am.
I'd love to hear you talk about Princess sometime since she's Firestar's sister and has been pretty overlooked. I often forgot that it was her who suggested that Cinderpaw's accident could have been a trap
@@miuiswaifu I really wish there had been a scene when Firestar and his family said goodbye to her. I also refuse to believe he wouldnt have told her about his kits
My God I completely forgot Princess was a character! She was such a talked about character in the fandom years ago and as time went on she kinda got pushed to the very back of people's minds!!
5:32THANK YOU FOR ADDRESSING THIS. The rumors were gross and disgusting. Part of the reason I hated those warrior cats fact videos was that they added in these really insensitive “fun facts” and people believed that the authors would truly write this into a series for kids
@@zrainyday5266 if ur talking about the rumour, a lot of warrior cats facts videos claimed that darkstripe r*ped fernpaw, thus being the main reason why she was scared of him. literally nothing in the narrative hints at this, it was created by people to make the series 'edgy'
@@zrainyday5266 honestly!! i started engaging with fan content in like 2016/2017 and this stuff was still being regularly passed around like it was canon. id say now its more of a dead myth and anyone who DOES spread it would probably be called out for misinformation
I would love for you to talk about Snowfur! She had Bluestar as a sister, Thistleclaw as a mate, Whitestorm as a son and her death is just devastating. Plus I don’t feel like a lot of people talk about her.
I was always sympathetic to Ferncloud. I basically grew up with like 3 mothers, so I related to the three. I find Ferncloud’s permanent “queen status” to be noble in a way, and it gives her more character than just another warrior in the clan.
i'd actually kinda wanna hear about some of the misogyny both in the series and the fandom. i know it wouldnt be a casual video so maybe more character specific, like the way that people choose to hate on daisy for instance due to her maternal role in the clan, or maybe a character like blossomfall who feels like she was kinda just forced into a relationship because all girl cats must have kits apparently, but it's something that's been bothering me lately and i'd love to hear your thoughts on it.
Ik this comment is very late, but is it just me, or is any she cat who says I'm not gonna have kits has kits eventually?? Like I want a she cat who is NOT a medicine cat to say that and stick to it, idk I just found that annoying
No fr. Like you’re not going to look me in the eyes and tell me Ivypool of all cats wanted to have kits, let alone be in a relationship… I feel like the majority of main she cats in the series were forced into their relationships with barely any surface level chemistry.
Poor Ferncloud; I remember disliking her as a kid because of the "all she does is have kittens" rhetoric, and now as an adult I just feel so bad for her. I'm gonna toss my boy Thrushpelt into the suggestion pool again. He's one of the few cats I feel like the Erins made that reacts to rejection in a healthy manner, and he deserved so much more than an off-screen death.
Ferncloud losing Hollykit & Larchkit has stayed in my mind as the most impactful death in-book. It really upset me, her desperation & sorrow not being able to keep them warm or fed and blaming herself so openly. I don't mean to "advocate for child death" but it was sure impactful :')
I really wanted to hear about my baby Fernsong, he was named after Ferncloud, he's a Sweet father and mate, he respected Ivypool's wishes when she said she was not ready to have kits, and he told her that he can stay and nursery with the kits so that way she can do the things she wanted, when they had kits, he was very present in their lives, and keep caring of them after they were already warriors, different of most of toms, who don't respect their mates decisions, don't care about their kits, don't stay in nursery and forget about them after they are warriors, Fernsong is so precious
I would like the next topic to be Firestar himself. The fandom seems pretty split on this cat. Normally legacy characters like say Tobey's Spider-Man are greatly respected. But Firestar doesn't have that treatment. Even in the universe of Warriors, he's made fun of and seen as a cat who never knew when it stop butting into other clans' business. When that was just a trait he always had as a warrior Fireheart. People didn't like that he returned at all yet with other legacy characters (Tobey) people would LOVE to see them return to their role. It's really fascinating to see a fandom so split on this cat. Some say that his return was amazing it was nice to see him in action again, but others think he should've been left alone after OOTS. I mean no one really talks about this one moment with Bluestar and Firestar how she comments that he doesn't visit Bramblestar in dreams and he fires back "because I trust in his ability to lead." which seems to imply somethings about their history. You know, namely how Fireheart had lost his trust of Bluestar after she went mad. I dunno I've always found him interesting so would like to see him talked about next.
People just hate on Firestar simply because he's... Firestar. The main protagonist. No other reason. If you wanna hate on a character at least find a good reason to do so >.
I've seen an argument that he is "too perfect" which I think is not true, especially when it comes to Spottedleaf-Sandstorm shenenigans I think he is charming and he has become some sort of my comfort character, I'm still in the middle of OOTS but I can't bare with the fact that he will eventually die, I would love if he stayed alive forever dkdbjdbf
@@billcipher8645 He is actually very flawed, but his flaws aren't really addressed that well. He is definitely not a gary stu, but many of his traits are associated with gary stus.
Crookedstar please 🙏 He was a generic arc 1 leader and then all of a sudden he got his own Super Edition, which from what I understand is one of the better received ones. I'm also a firm believer in the fact that he should have gotten to kill Mapleshade's ghost.
He's got one of my least favourite SE's. At one point he... leaves the clans and stays in a barn or smth? I never really got it. Had to drag myself through that one.
I’d actually love to see what you have to say about Morningflower and/or Gorsepaw. They’re some of my favorite characters and are SO overlooked and underrated and had a lot of potential within the books, despite being such background characters
id love to hear you talk about fernsong! i feel like he has such a unique personality, especially considering he’s kind of a bg character, and there isn’t rlly any other cats like him
Fun fact about Ferncloud: In the german version of the books she is called „Rauchfell“ wich, roughly translated, means „Smokepelt“. It wasn’t really necessary to remove and change her name as a whole, but its still kinda fun, considering her brother‘s name is Ashfur.
honestly i always find the translation of names super interesting, especially in languages that cant put words together like in english because then you just get stupidly long names lmao
That's ok because in Italy there are worse (imo) name translations. For example Mistystar is named Darkfoot (not a leader yet), and Cinderpelt is named Lavapelt (literally how, she's DARK GREY)
@@marianna6412when lava cools and hardens into rock it’s usually dark gray, but there’s still the question of how cats would know what lava is… maybe the Italian translators intended for the readers to imagine that the books are taking place in Italy, which I think does have some volcanoes so I suppose a cat encountering lava rock isn’t entirely impossible, but like, even if you assume the mountains the Tribe lives in are volcanic the Forest territories are still pretty far from even them… maybe there’s some volcanic rock around Mothermouth, and Frostfur or Lionheart remember it from their apprentice trip to the Moonstone
@@HiHi-lt1cb like dude thats saying its spottedpaws fault also ashfur is squirrelflights (retconned) uncle, is it her fault for him loving squirrelflight? also i think dustpelt taught ashfur "love your neice!"
Can you talk about Leopardfoot? She’s the mother of the big bad TigerStar, and some people think that her and PineStar are one of the worst couples in Warrior Cats because of the age difference and how rushed their relationship was. Oh and also, PineStar literally left her to raise the kits alone so he can eat Meow Mix the rest of his life.
he was the LEADER when she was a BABY oh my GOD. also i just kind of hate pinestar but the fact that he leaves soon after his son is born just annoyed me more
Calling ferncloud a "baby making machine" completely ignores that feral cats ARE babymaking machines in real life. The morality rate is high, they make babies constantly to combat that. I think I heard that there was a molly that had over *30 litters* in her life or some other big number. There's a reason people TNR those mofos! It's not even a bad thing either? Ferncloud could just be a motherly character and loves having babies and having kits and taking care of them. She's the housewife, seeing as she is in the nursery and actively willingly stays there her whole life so, she clearly wants to BE one, and there's NOTHING wrong with wanting to be a housewife. In fact, she was very contributing and important to the clan! She was VERY useful! Taking care of babies especially a whole nursery of them is HARD! Babysitters have it rough. They are not lazy. And yet people called her useless. The fandom was just extremely sexist with ferncloud and thanks to them, Vicky felt compelled to kill her fighting for the nursery to prove she wasn't "useless". Queens and especially permaqueens like Fern and Daisy deserve better, fuck the fandom for hating them for that. Glad to see Moonkitti validate Ferncloud for her wanting to stay a mother.
ALSO TO ADD, you forgot to add that Vicky wanted to kill almost all the DustFern kits because she didn't like them being happy and calm and thought they were *boring* unless she made them suffer. Because remember and reminder to everyone, Vicky hates happy couples.
@@klltx2001 they killed the children because they didn't like them? Wow, poor them. But yeah, I can see why Ferncloud isn't more loved in the fandom. This are the books of the fighting cats, and by glorifying violence, there's no space for most pacific characters, like Ferncloud and Daisy :(.
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle What does this have to do with Ferncloud being called a babymaking machine for literally doing what feral cats do irl tho? That's like a whole different thing compared to what I said.
Can you do longtail? He's a seldom talked about character and I feel he's had one of most interesting arcs for any background cat in the entire series.
Technically, when Ferncloud becomes a warrior she doesn't stay one for long, so it kinda seems like dustpelt immediately...gave her kits.. ALSO is nobody gonna talk about TIGERHEART AND DOVEPAW (yes I know dovesing but I'm talking about when they where an apprentice,
Id like to see one on Daisy. I always thought Daisy was neat, essentially being a kittypet, coming to protect her kits and because her mate favored another, fell in love twice, both of which didnt exactly have similar feelings.
I really love the idea that Ferncloud developed her love for parenting from her mother. Brindleface was a good mom, she took in an extra kitten and loved him just as much as her biological kits, and I think it had an impact on Ferncloud as an adult. The way she cares so much for every kit regardless of whose they are seems sort of reflective of Brindleface, and I like that. I like Ferncloud following her moms footsteps in a positive, nurturing way.
i'd really enjoy a video on frecklewish, especially now that she's in the dark forest apparently. how her grief over her dead brother being used as a pawn in mapleshade's agenda, and how it may be subtle, but maybe how it can be seen as her fearful remembrance of how her brother and his apprentice died from a river at that once scene! all in all, with this video, ferncloud is best cat, and she handled a bunch that we do not give her credit for, unfortunately. edit, i worded the last sentence weirdly and changed the topic suddenly waretsydhbgfv-
I'm kinda salty about this, frecklewish didn't deserve to be in the dark forest, especially when we excuse cats like mud Claw and ash fur. Should she have helped mapleshade? Yes. But we understand she was in an emotional state at this time, what she believed to be all she had left of her brother, was found out to be a lie. She wasn't the cause of the kits death but her lack of action is a mistake and a bad move no questions asked. Good cats can do bad things, and compared to the other cats in the dark forest, does she really deserve to be there? If thats the case hollyleaf should be in the dark forest for killing a cat in an emotional state. Or lionblaze for the amount of lives he has taken.
@@Spectorwing exactly! really, frecklewish being in a ghostly state would've made more sense than the dark forest, and, just to compromise with the mapleshade fans, neither her being in starclan (as much as i agree with her being in starclan), and there's this one MAP about her being in limbo i think! she's not really /good/ per say, but neither is she bad. maybe some kind of sentencing to a ghost state would work for her to repent, or something? or, like how the MAP maps it out (no pun intended), she is reincarnated and repents that way! if ASHFUR, someone who ACTUALLY KILLED SOMEONE, SPOILER WARNING FOR SUNSET- He theoretically, due to helping Hawkfrost kill Firestar in Sunset, had killed Firestar. Hawkfrost, though, died before Firestar's loss of his life. So, we can theoretically state that Ashfur killed Firestar. But what doesn't help is him attempting to MURDER holly, jay, and lion! -then i bet you frecklewish, who never had the intent of killing anyone, should be in starclan, if not repenting for some kind of sin in a ghostly state.
okay but why is frecklewish in the dark forest? you’re telling me that they let cats like needletail into starclan when she actively tried to destroy the clans and probably killed a few clan cats? i guess that her dying to save violetpaw makes up for it?? but then what about juniperclaw who actively tried to redeem himself while he was life and when he was dead??
People keep hating on Ravenwing for doing his job when he didn't know the kits would drown and Frecklewish for not helping when there was literally a whole patrol right there. Yes these 2 were wrong for doing so-and-so and I'm not justifying it but you have to remember that didn't *know* the kits would drown. Idk if Ravenwing even knew Mapleshade would be exiled
I think willowshine would be an interesting topic. She has to be the one who guides her clan about the prophecies and omens. She never had a guide to teach her about starclan. I always found it very interesting to read about her in the books since she goes through so much as an apprentice.
How about sorreltail? Nearly killed as an infant, and grew up to be buff lady Leafpool bodyguard. I’ve always liked her, and am confused why you called her mean in an earlier video but would like to know!
Heh, I was just thinking about her this morning Edit: I’m glad you talked about how creepy it was for Dustpelt to be into Fernpaw. I was always confused as to why people who defend their relationship with “it’s not as bad as SpottedThistle” simply because it wasn’t blatantly toxic and the gap wasn’t that big. I think as long as one is a warrior(and has been longer than the apprentice has been) and the other is an apprentice, they probably shouldn’t write them as a couple. I also feel that, for a pair of mates who were so close, that Dustpelt’s reaction to Ferncloud’s death in the last hope and seeing her ghost was underwhelming. This is your life long partner, one who’s experienced the birth and death of your children along side you and other clan tragedies, one you probably thought you’d grow old and retire with, an then she’s gone, brutally murdered by a ghost cat. I haven’t read Bramblestar’s storm, nor do I intend to, but I hope there’s some more grieving going on.
In Bramblestar’s storm he was grieving a lot, and slept with a piece of moss from her nest so he could still smell her scent. That’s all I can remember lol
Ferncloud my beloved! I’m gonna preach about Stumpytail more. I feel like he’s very forgotten when he’s a very interesting character to me. His dad was Clawface and his mentor was Brokenstar, but he doesn’t seem to have the same characteristics as the important figures in his life and seems pretty chill.
Fun fact though, Squilf had the same amount of kits as Ferncloud! With Ferncloud having Shrewpaw, Spiderleg, Birchfall, Larchkit, Hollykit, Icecloud and Foxleap; and Squirrelflight having Hollyleaf, Lionblaze, Jayfeather, Alderheart, Sparkpelt, Juniperkit and Dandelionkit
i honestly really want to see a video about leopardstar; more specifically, her mother-like relationship with her best friend, sunfish's son, whiteclaw. i always found it interesting why she seemingly was *so* upset about his death, holding a grudge, until i read leopardstar's honor. the fact she was essentially his mother as well as mentor after sunfish's passing really made me intrigued on how it effected her character and i want to go more in depth on that
Tbh I really personally liked Ferncloud and Daisy being nursery queens it's such a sweet role helping the others along and having so much experience to share and help queens who might have it harder. I never understood why there was so much hate in that aspect but your explanation really helped me understand why because legit I have been int he fandom off and on for a long time but some things I never saw so understanding the qualms with them was tricky ;o; Onto ideas like loads of others have mentioned Longtail would be wonderful to hear about or another one im curious about your thoughts on are Leafpool shes my favorite cat and just I love hearing people's opinions on her! Another amazing video as always though keep up the lovely work!
Could you talk about Jagged Peak? (My favorite character in warrior cats) I just think the fact that he saw all the events of Dawn of the Clans, and knew the mountains is very interesting. When he was younger, the brother he liked more left him, his sister died horribly, and was not allowed to go with his brother. Even after his brother risked his life, he still stayed DECENTLY happy. He kept going through life, and I would really like to hear you talk about him!
Someone that is finnaly suggesting a character of DOTC! Although in the last 2 books in my opinion he got a little bit, not a little bit very annoying, he started to boss cats around but that is just my opinion.
What about one eye? She had kids stayed alive for ages and was forced with a late name because she was born with a bad eye. ONE bad eye, not even blind
To me apprentice ages have always felt like this in human ages 6 moons 12 y/o 7 moons 13y/o 8moons 14y/o 9 moons 15 10 moons 16 11 moons 17 12 moons 18. Basically human 12 year old are just old enough to start growing up and learning about taking care of themselves, to be a Apprentices. I imagine warriors graduating as like 18 year olds, adult but still young. Old enough to take care of themself and make their own decisions
I believe Spotfur would be a really good choice. She's gone through so much, from having been mistreated by brashstar, lost her mate to find she was going to have his kits, have her littermates abandon her to become kittypets AND have her older sibling hollypelt accuse them of because my traitors. Also, hearing about stemleaf being blank eyes must've been horrible. And bristlefrost promised she'd help raise her kits..
I’m going to say him again, deadfoot,I find is really weird that he isn’t popular cause I find the fandom is mad when disabled cat are forced to be a medicine cat or a elder but than we got deadfoot,a deputy! Yet he is not popular?
You already covered Poppyfrost, so how about her other siblings? I’d love to see you talk about Honeyfern, Cinderheart, Lilyheart, and maybe even Seedpaw (skipped Molepaw because we know like nothing about him, as he was killed off pretty quickly).
could u do longtail and mousefur??? purdy could be included but i love their friendship as elders, plus longtail going blind just. happens and is barely mentioned again. plus i cried at mousefurs death scene
I really like Ferncloud! And yeah, I'm reading Warriors again after 10 years and I remember well all the internalized misogyny in the fandom back in the day with queens being called baby machines and stuff (I think during that time the whole "I'm not like other girls" and "female characters suck if they're traditionally feminine and don't like to fight" way of thinking was going strong among young teen girls...thankfully it's not as bad anymore and readers have matured along with people in general's thoughts about that.)
Daisy deserves so much more respect. I love the MAP made about her where it shows her losses and what she's had to endure and that one where she was good friends with Squirrelflight and helped her realize Bramblestar wasn't good for her.
A character I picked up as very interesting was always Graypool, she’s the cat who adopted Mistykit and Stonekit after bluefur had to leave them and she has a decently large side-character role in I think fire and ice
i'd personally love to hear you talk about lilyheart! she's lost her mother, her sister, her mate (who is also her cousin BUUUUUT lets omit that for right now), and her son, but was able to overcome and its clear that she loves both her biological children and her adopted children ;o; i especially love her relationship with twigbranch, and its definitely a change of pace with warrior's weird stigma of cats who take in kits that aren't there own! also her name is just so pretty and i love how its also a name that is symbolic
I'll once again recommend Redwillow. Everyone forgets about him even though he did what Breezepelt couldn't lol. Also the dynamic that there should've been between Mapleshade and Bluestar rather than Mapleshade and Sandstorm is always an interesting topic IMO.
I want to hear about either Tall Shadow or Jagged Peak, I feel like they haven't been talked about much after Dawn of the Clans or I'm just living under a rock. I really liked those two characters and honestly, their pretty forgotten aside from being the founder of ShadowClan and Gray Wing's brother.
"I got tired of everyone saying Ferncloud wasn't good for anything other than having kids so to prove you wrong I had her immediately die in a fight protecting children" Uh...yeh really proved em wrong on that one...
Could you maybe talk about the dark forest side characters? (Like snowtuft, Silverhawk, Maggottail, Sparrowfeather, and ETC?) if not all of them, maybe just Snowtuft?
I would want to hear something about Bluestar, her downfall into paranoid atheism and the whole kids thing. Also why did she eventually choose tigerclaw as deputy? She is a really emotional complex character, with trauma and a lot of mental baggage and I would love a video about her
Its funny she hated Thistleclaw but legit picked Tigerclaw who is pretty much exactly the same person and still gets shocked he's a traitor 🙄 girl is dumb
@@iwakeupandboomimarat But Whitestorm was always there so it really does make me wonder why she chose the cat that was trained by Thistleclaw and was obviously fierce rather than the calm and collected cat she's trusted for years.
Something about Frostfur would be interesting, she was Bluestars apprentice which was never forgotten in the books as they would still interact unlike many, Frostfur also was one of the few cats supporting Fireheart, Frostfur always seemed to be kind, she helped when it came to Frostfurs sister nursing Cloudkit and much more then came to raise very important cats. Overall this background cat did a lot of interesting things.
Tawnypelt please!!! I wish she had been leader, she could have gotten Bramble's failed "im better than my dad" arc especially after she told Tigerstar (I) that if she became leader it would be by her own talents. Queen of ShadowClan 😭
I think I always imagined Ashfur and Ferncloud to look that way anyway. I also imagined Ferncloud with longer fur. I feel like people seeing Daisy as lazy makes a little more sense since cats in the books seem to see her like that at times.
DO ONE ABOUT ROSEPETAL PLS. I was devastated when she died. Daisy was her mom and she's lost too many kits, two at once, even! I really wanted to see her get with Bumblestripe (who's a jerk, but I think he's her type haha. I especially think they would've made for good 'the code is sacred!' characters in TBC) as I would've cared about their litter much more than the belated BrackenSorrel and BrightCloud litters. Because; -both are interesting characters at least, to imagine as parents -mom Rosepetal would probably act like a mentor all the time to babies which I think would have been funny -Bumblestripe would have been a jerk about none of the kits having green eyes which I also think would have been funny -Spiderleg should have had a legacy More than that, I REALLY WANTED TO SEE ROSESTAR. Because: -responsible -had a TON of apprentices -NOT related to Firestar -she-cat! -plenty old enough but not 'too old' -just not as explored as characters like Lionblaze or even Ivypool... we KNOW what those two would be like as leaders. I want a fresh, new leader. If she had survived and would've been made deputy by Squirrelflight I would've forgiven any other of Erin Hunter's crimes :( probably
i think this is my 3rd attempt of asking for a video about Nightstar/Clawface. they're cool because their brotherhood is very interesting to me because their relationship must be strained because of the paths they took especially because apparently they used to be compatible. plus the detail about nightstars cough and lives are interesting.
Since you mentioned it, I’ve always disliked fan rules for naming since it’s clear even from the beginning that the only rule for naming is that the name have 2 parts.
Longtail, for the next one? He was a minor antagonist, but actually had morals even before Tigetstar was exiled. And had to deal with so much as a warrior.
5:38 ya I saw on a fact video once someone said “Ferncloud didn’t want darkstripe to be her mentor bc he raped her” like um no that’s not canon that never happened :/
Excellent video on an unexpected topic! C: Love this much attention paid to such a lowkey character. Ferncloud was such a sweet character and good mom. Really wish we could have seen more of her kits, especially Shrewpaw, grow up. Also now that I think of it… wasn’t it hinted that Shrewpaw had a crush on Squirrelpaw? Kind of weird to think that if Shrew had lived, he might have been romantic rivals with his uncle…. 😂
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle Not Shrew and Ash though. Ashffur is Shrewpaw's direct uncle so it would've been much weirder. And it also would've highlighted how weird it was for Ashfur to be wanting to get with a cat who was in his nephew's age range :/
i will try for star flower until the day i die (also slight correction: ferncloud didnt help kill bone, she was helping cinderpelt with treating for injured cats. if she was there shes not mentioned in the scene. love these analysis vids tho!)
I’m so glad you did a video talking about Ferncloud! I really like her character and think she is very unique! She went through so much loss and trauma, and I’m glad that that’s finally being talked about!
What about Mousewhisker/Berrynose/Hazeltail? Mouse and Berry are some of my favourite baclground characters and I never hear anything about Mousewhisker, despite him getting a bit more attention lately in the books.
Fun fact: Snowbird got pregnant while her mate Scorchfur was an apprentice and the wiki says Scorch is the father to ALL her kitsch so it can be assumed that Scorch and snow had babies while Scorch himself was baby😐 this is from what I remember I haven't read the books in a long time😅
I think the authors just forgot Ferncloud had kits the moment they wrote it in. Then a book or two later they say "Oh. Oh. What if, we made Ferncloud have a litter of two- no- *three* kits?" And the others were like "Yes. Yes. This cannot go wrong in any way." *the inbreeding begins.*
I'm curious what you think about Mudfur! He seems like one of the more interesting background medicine cat characters to me, since he ended up becoming one later in life and was able to both be a medicine cat and publicly be a father to Leopardstar without having to keep Leopardstar's parentage a secret like many other medicine cats have had to do.
Accident: Drew Sorreltail's kits Seedkit and Lilykit instead of Snowkit, Amberkit and Dewkit. To be fair though. She was probably defending them, too.

My suggestion for the next topic is Longtail. It's interesting how he started on Tigerclaw's side, but later on gained respect and loyalty for Fireheart/star. Especially considering that he was one of the loudest voices against Firepaw/heart from the start.
He could have easily gone the same route as Darkstripe, but instead perfectly represents what Darkstripe could have been

Crookedstar was deputy and then leader, his Jaw was broken and he was renamed by his own mother after the event.
@@bananacrispies True. Unlike crookedstar, Deadfoot dies before he can become leader. That and I don't see much Deadfoot focus videos.

I have a couple of headcanons already and roles they typically serve within the dynamic when I write them, but I'd love to know what your thoughts are.

Not to be That Guy but the amount of times people use "Kestrel" in their OC names (especially when that name makes no sense with their pelt, they just want to sound cool) or have straight up just used the name Kestrelfligt for their OC I feel I've already heard enough of her.
yass Willowshine
I'd love to see your thoughts on Palebird, she's an interesting yet overlooked mother, and she's different from the other neglectful mothers in Warriors (in the sense that she isn't one dimensional)
I felt so bad for her when she lost finch kit D:
I think the fandom seems to have completely missed the fact that she's suffering postpartum depression. Hence why she gets a lot of hate. Not cool.
I can already taste the confusion of "who's palebird"

Can you imagine how cool, badass and poetic it would if Ferncloud was the one that killed Brokenstar's spirit? Ferncloud was known for love of kits and Brokenstar was known were his brurning hatred of kits. Vicki said that she knew that Ferncloud was as capable as any warrior when it came to defending the young of the clan, so wouldn't Ferncloud killing Brokenstar symbolize that? Wouldn't it have been so awesome to see Ferncloud killing Brokenstar when she protecting the nursery. It really seems like a missed opportunity.

Honeyfern was my favorite, Cinderheart annoys she’s only relevant because of she’s a reincarnation and because of Lionblaze
Oh man, you’re so right. Honeyfern’s death is devastating, it wrecks me even on rereads to this day.
I never read her scene but her death in general is so sad to me because she was expecting at the time too, and because her mate got over her so quickly when the she-cat who died protecting a kit and died while expecting his kits is now dead. You'd think most people would take a while to mourn especially if their partner died while pregnant.
@@chocomelo454 she actually wasn’t expecting at the time, the author confirmed it. But their only excuse was ,“ It’d be too sad.“
Her saying that her “blood was on fire” after the snake bite is so heartbreaking but also chilling at the same time.
Ashfur would have been caught REAL freaking fast
I'm pretty sure when Hollyleaf revealed she killed Ashfur (and then Brambleclaw came in with a lie to make it sound justified) Ferncloud said something like "This is not my brother, he's a bad cat", but that's really the only input we get from her and it wasn't a very emotional scene at all lol
Maybe Puddleshine? He has quite a unique story, being trained by a thunderclan cat and later having to deal with what was a basically a kitty pandemic while he was still apprentice aged.

One might even say in an unrealistic manner.
One might not say that
the rejection scale: thrushpelt being normal about it vs ashfur creating the broken code arc
I'd actually love to hear about this!
People just hate on Firestar simply because he's... Firestar. The main protagonist. No other reason. If you wanna hate on a character at least find a good reason to do so >.
I've seen an argument that he is "too perfect" which I think is not true, especially when it comes to Spottedleaf-Sandstorm shenenigans

Love Ferncloud. She and Daisy snuggling with kittens in the nursery? Wholesome. Quality content.

-then i bet you frecklewish, who never had the intent of killing anyone, should be in starclan, if not repenting for some kind of sin in a ghostly state.
YES!!
okay but why is frecklewish in the dark forest? you’re telling me that they let cats like needletail into starclan when she actively tried to destroy the clans and probably killed a few clan cats? i guess that her dying to save violetpaw makes up for it??
but then what about juniperclaw who actively tried to redeem himself while he was life and when he was dead??
Hey, what about Goosefeather? His story is really interesting and sad. Poor Goosebaby never had some sort of understanding from others
How about sorreltail? Nearly killed as an infant, and grew up to be buff lady Leafpool bodyguard. I’ve always liked her, and am confused why you called her mean in an earlier video but would like to know!
yesss i love sorrel beat girl
Heh, I was just thinking about her this morning
Edit: I’m glad you talked about how creepy it was for Dustpelt to be into Fernpaw.
I haven’t read Bramblestar’s storm, nor do I intend to, but I hope there’s some more grieving going on.
oh in bramblestar’s book he’s depressed as hell
In Bramblestar’s storm he was grieving a lot, and slept with a piece of moss from her nest so he could still smell her scent.
That’s all I can remember lol
He also died
In bramnlestars storm
I mean with dustpelt i think he's better than thistleclaw bc he *waited* to become mates with her.
What also makes DustxFern uncomterable is because he her uncle
Few ideas: Needleclaw, Ivypool and her kits, Cinderheart and HER kits? They’re interesting to me and I love them all.
I find her incredibly interesting because in the end she also buried her mom with ashfur, and didnt turn out like him. at all.
i honestly really want to see a video about leopardstar; more specifically, her mother-like relationship with her best friend, sunfish's son, whiteclaw. i always found it interesting why she seemingly was *so* upset about his death, holding a grudge, until i read leopardstar's honor. the fact she was essentially his mother as well as mentor after sunfish's passing really made me intrigued on how it effected her character and i want to go more in depth on that
Tbh I really personally liked Ferncloud and Daisy being nursery queens it's such a sweet role helping the others along and having so much experience to share and help queens who might have it harder.
To me apprentice ages have always felt like this in human ages
6 moons 12 y/o
7 moons 13y/o
8moons 14y/o
9 moons 15
10 moons 16
11 moons 17
12 moons 18.
Basically human 12 year old are just old enough to start growing up and learning about taking care of themselves, to be a
Apprentices. I imagine warriors graduating as like 18 year olds, adult but still young. Old enough to take care of themself and make their own decisions
steals this
I believe Spotfur would be a really good choice.
Riverstar, maybe? Especially since he’s getting a super edition now
I keep forgetting how Bone died because of of a bunch of angry and angst children.
Yes! Those three are the best elders to ever exist.
Please talk about brambleberry I absolutely adore her
YESS I'VE BEEN WAITING AGES FOR MOON TO MAKE A VID ON HER!!
what about foxheart? i feel like she’s the perfect little kitty that adds some conflict for yellowfang in yellowfangs secret
Could you talk about the wasted potential of Half Moon?
I really like Ferncloud!
And yeah, I'm reading Warriors again after 10 years and I remember well all the internalized misogyny in the fandom back in the day with queens being called baby machines and stuff (I think during that time the whole "I'm not like other girls" and "female characters suck if they're traditionally feminine and don't like to fight" way of thinking was going strong among young teen girls...thankfully it's not as bad anymore and readers have matured along with people in general's thoughts about that.)
Could you talk about SwiftPaw please? He’s always kind of felt like an underrated character to me. Plus his story is so interesting!
Could you discuss needletail (and/or alder, violet, and twig too) next? I love these funny little guys and I’d like to see you talk about them
Can you please talk about Icecloud and Foxleap? They're some of my day background characters.
i'd personally love to hear you talk about lilyheart! she's lost her mother, her sister, her mate (who is also her cousin BUUUUUT lets omit that for right now), and her son, but was able to overcome and its clear that she loves both her biological children and her adopted children ;o; i especially love her relationship with twigbranch, and its definitely a change of pace with warrior's weird stigma of cats who take in kits that aren't there own! also her name is just so pretty and i love how its also a name that is symbolic
I LOVE JAGGED PEAK!!
tall shadow is one of my top five favorite cats. i feel like she's so underrated and interesting.
"I got tired of everyone saying Ferncloud wasn't good for anything other than having kids so to prove you wrong I had her immediately die in a fight protecting children"
Uh...yeh really proved em wrong on that one...
She is a really emotional complex character, with trauma and a lot of mental baggage and I would love a video about her
Same! I feel bad for her because she lost all the cats she trusted and the cat she DID trust betrayed her, and her Super Edition was sad as well.
when i read the books when i was younger, i just assumed she chose tigerclaw because she was legit running out of people that could be deputy lmao
I'd like to see a video on Foxpleap! He's been one of my favorite background characters for a while now
I always imagined ferncloud and ash fur the same pelt but diff eye colors
I like ferncloud. I love birchfall in general. Quick question. Can you talk about Dovewing next? I love Dovewing. she is my pretty.
I don't hate Dovewing but I do think she is a badly written character. Though I still wanna see her opinion on Dovewing.
I'd love a Mothwing talking video! I just think she's really cool and I'd love to hear what you have to say about her!
Alright, officially killed me now with that "You know I can't count that high." comment from Lionblaze at 8:52
Something about Frostfur would be interesting, she was Bluestars apprentice which was never forgotten in the books as they would still interact unlike many, Frostfur also was one of the few cats supporting Fireheart, Frostfur always seemed to be kind, she helped when it came to Frostfurs sister nursing Cloudkit and much more then came to raise very important cats.
I really wanted to see her get with Bumblestripe (who's a jerk, but I think he's her type haha. I especially think they would've made for good 'the code is sacred!' characters in TBC) as I would've cared about their litter much more than the belated BrackenSorrel and BrightCloud litters. Because;
-both are interesting characters at least, to imagine as parents
-mom Rosepetal would probably act like a mentor all the time to babies which I think would have been funny
-Bumblestripe would have been a jerk about none of the kits having green eyes which I also think would have been funny
-Spiderleg should have had a legacy
More than that, I REALLY WANTED TO SEE ROSESTAR. Because:
-responsible
-had a TON of apprentices
-NOT related to Firestar
-she-cat!
-plenty old enough but not 'too old'
-just not as explored as characters like Lionblaze or even Ivypool... we KNOW what those two would be like as leaders.
Dustpelt is also Ferncloud's uncle. That makes it even more creepy
Omg I-
😨😨😨
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle good point 😂
@@TheSlipperyNUwUdle Not Shrew and Ash though. Ashffur is Shrewpaw's direct uncle so it would've been much weirder. And it also would've highlighted how weird it was for Ashfur to be wanting to get with a cat who was in his nephew's age range :/
i will try for star flower until the day i die
(also slight correction: ferncloud didnt help kill bone, she was helping cinderpelt with treating for injured cats. if she was there shes not mentioned in the scene. love these analysis vids tho!)
Can you talk about onestar? He is so hated...
@ILoveYou3000 me too! I think he is so interesting, and has a great development.
I second this! He’s a super interesting character to me !!
I’m so glad you did a video talking about Ferncloud! I really like her character and think she is very unique! She went through so much loss and trauma, and I’m glad that that’s finally being talked about!
I am once again once again asking for star flower
What about Mousewhisker/Berrynose/Hazeltail? Mouse and Berry are some of my favourite baclground characters and I never hear anything about Mousewhisker, despite him getting a bit more attention lately in the books.
Glad you brought up how weird Dustpelt is
Fun fact: Snowbird got pregnant while her mate Scorchfur was an apprentice and the wiki says Scorch is the father to ALL her kitsch so it can be assumed that Scorch and snow had babies while Scorch himself was baby😐 this is from what I remember I haven't read the books in a long time😅
I hope this is false :O
I think the authors just forgot Ferncloud had kits the moment they wrote it in. Then a book or two later they say "Oh. Oh. What if, we made Ferncloud have a litter of two- no- *three* kits?" And the others were like "Yes. Yes. This cannot go wrong in any way."
*the inbreeding begins.*
I don't know why Vicky chose to kill Ferncloud based on what whiny preteens were saying about her.
I'd love to hear you talk about Flywhisker! I feel like we got to know so little but so much about them
dustpelt and ferncloud makes my sick
I'm curious what you think about Mudfur! He seems like one of the more interesting background medicine cat characters to me, since he ended up becoming one later in life and was able to both be a medicine cat and publicly be a father to Leopardstar without having to keep Leopardstar's parentage a secret like many other medicine cats have had to do.
