Just found your channel and am so glad I did. I have just begun fermenting and did some beets today for the first time. I wish I had seen your video first! I’ll do it your way next time. Thank you for sharing.😊

Oh another great recipe Russell, thank you for being you. I swear you need a good p.r. rep to get you to at least 100K... I just do not understand why no one knows you. I talk about you ALL the time. Anyway, my beets are fermenting as I write this, ty.

I'm gonna try this and add turnips! If you use a pitcher as your container, the lid can move and no explosion!

Hi Russell, what's the salt:water ratio for your brine? Also, any idea what the least amount of salt would be for this to work, for those on low-sodium diets? Cheers

Hola! 😃 Looks amazing this recipe, but wondering if you think it would work without adding the caraway and fennel? (hard to find here where I am living now) and second, is it possible to add carrots as well? because in a juice, carrots and beets blend well, so was wondering if that idea would work in a fermented combo? Thanx for sharing 💚✌🏼🌈

Thank you Russel! Just a question...if I may....does fermenting the beets reduce the oxalates in it? Many thanks!

I'm oxalate sensitive, sadly I believe not, though this could be made with other veg which are lower ox

I just Googled 'does fermentation reduce oxalates' and found this article (if UA-cam let's me post the link) www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5302357/
It concludes that oxalates are reduced by 72%.
I'm no expert on this, so I'd definitely look at that article and further research.
