This performance of the end of radio still gives me chills when I think about it. What this doesn’t show is the huge audience all of whom were completely silent, and the garbage truck repair and cleaning facility viable behind the stage with a constant flow of trucks. It was something to see all around.
@@richardholland1865 I just remember at the T&G25th (I was there too) he went off on a long bit about loving to pronounce "Martina Navratilova" during the "special girl" part of The End of Radio.
@@EfilNukcufEcin I honestly get chills remembering that show. I saw Shellac play many times and some weird ones, the Pine Tar show at the Logan Square Auditorium where they played in retro baseball uniforms and blew the fuses for the building multiple times (I had broken my ankle the day before and had a hell of a time up the stairs), or a great show to a few dozen people at about noon with Couch Flambeau, which was spectacular, but nothing can top that block party show. Wow.
I wondered this for years, then this week saw on the forum to his own recording studio he works at where he told someone himself that it was a regular strap, but a super-long one. It probably looks like two parts because of the ends coming off of the waist onto the guitar. Also, I think he just used one of those really wide straps with Big Black.
i was right in front at this show. right after big black played. best festival there will ever be.
Last days Radio - RIP Albini (you made life way more rad) XO
Dammit, I wanna see more of the Steve and David Show!

I’m so glad you got to be there…and since your post predates Steve leaving the picnic - let me ready say Sorry For Ya Loss bro
"Martina Navratilova"
@@EfilNukcufEcin I’ve always wondered if some sort of bet was at the root of this song.

he simply wraps it around himself, trousers belt style, as he finds more comfortable to play guitar that way.
you and me both. Gonna have to spend the rest of my life building a time machine!
yeah he does. it was used on In utero. not sure what else.

This was few months before I really got into Shellac. Now I'll never get to see them. God dammit Steve!
