For all the subjects she touched...it boils down to materialism. The status. Superficial. We have romanticised the "come up" so much. We no longer value the steps. When you "coming up" you used to shine after the work is done. And the work built your character. And nobody who didnt work with you could tell you nothing. Now we value the "celebration" and skip the step. Some of learned this through the pure exhaustion of "keeping up" and had no choice but to eliminate the things and people who were not part of the grind just for self care. Relationships or the people we join with are not a status symbol. They are reflections of ourselves. Its the reason why some folks dont want to let go of dysfunctional relationships bc inside they know its really their flaws their looking at. Even if its just the flaw of "shallow" and people pleasing. When after investing in outside issue (hair, nails, appearance,,)..they recieve little or no pleasure from that. Putting on bc others envy their life...but in turn we know envy is not good...so why would you invite that and ask why you got problems. The "appropriate" topic is simple. Its really not always age its your values. My grandmother married at 14 and her husband went to the railroad and worked his life for 6 kids that all grew up and adopted professsions and married. He didnt do it for the gram...he did it for his family. His maturity gave her stability in her innocence. Married meant permanant and closed to the world. We "invented" these short cuts to loyalty and commitment. And just like short cuts on a established route...you dont know what you will get or where it will take you. The older or wiser person brings wisdom to the table. If you are attracted to or keep attracting immaturity....you are immature. And if you arent dont wait until immaturity causes a problem small or big remind your partner of right and wrong as a form of love no matter what age. If they continue to choose wrong then let them be. Dont conform to their wrong to keep them. You are offiically "loosing" yourself then. Which means they dont love you for you. A 20 something old girl is giving away the beautiful part of THAT time in her life to someone who already had their time at that. And a Younger man is stunting the beauty of becoming a man taking on maturity too soon with someone who has already fought those battles and scares have healed. The other "weird" scenarios just fall under accountability...not taking any and too lazy to hold someone to it.
