Joe, besides being a really good guitarist is also a very talented artist. This is a different version of this song then the last one I heard and they all have a tendency towards taste and professionalism that I find admirable. In other words Joe seems to be a real artist painting musical pictures as he goes along some of which are true masterpieces.I am glad I had an opportunity to hear.
Joe's sense of touch, his ability to sing his notes, to play so softly when you've got so much power behind you, these are all very difficult things to do, let alone to master them. Anton once again keeps the master volume right in there too, what a great group of players and it looks they were down two personnel that night also (one horn and one vocalist). Another amazing performance by Guitar Man!
So happy to have been there on the night. A truly amazing gig. Probably the best version of Mountain time I've heard although I wish he had played India as the intro.
His favorite guitar, according to the man himself www.guitarworld.com/amp/news/joe-bonamassa-reveals-the-best-guitar-in-his-incredible-collection?__twitter_impression=true
AMEN‼️😬 He was 💫ANOINTED & ON🔥🔥🔥 in 2009❣😎👍💞💞💞🥰💋💋💋💋 HUNGRY‼️‼️‼️ The Horns and ESPECIALLY the background vocals have GOT TO GO on this song....😱😫😱😫😱😫😱 Ruins it!!!!😟😟😟
I first saw him in Helsinki in 2013 and sure enough he used the MusicMan on Django/Mountain Time. The thing about Joe, no matter the guitar, the sound is there, compare the full concert video at 1:33 ua-cam.com/video/TAdqboI1m90/v-deo.html
@@Bimbomable I can hear what you’re saying to some extent. Being a R&R bass player I have a MM StingRay5, Fender J-5 and had for several years a Rick 4001. The tone of any electric guitar is 90+% determined by the pickups no matter what anyone says. MusicMan guitars (certainly the bases) have a distinctive sound. I can usually pick out a MM bass or Fender P bass in a recording in 2 seconds, just as I can hear the difference between a Tele, Strat or Gibson. You don’t see many MM 6-strings used for whatever reason, but I identify the sound in, Mountain Time, as being unique to the song and a Tele just doesn’t do it as well. Bonamassa has hundreds of guitars, so why did he choose a MM for this song (a couple of different ones in fact for different performances but always a MM.) With a keen ear and hundreds to choose from, he heard some nuance in the tone that, to him, expressed the mood of the song, and I agree that it did. Sure if Hendrix played a Gibson or Page played a Strat or SRV used a Gretsch Country Gentleman for that matter, we could still tell it was them by their style, but it would be a different experience. Of course there is missing the gorgeous bass lines in the other performances that also made a huge difference. I always thought the bass really does matter. I used to tell hot lead guitarists, “they listen to you but they dance to me.”
@@Bimbomable In his other live performances of, Mountain Time, he usually prefaced it with an Eastern sounding solo. Going back to what I said about the distinctive MusicMan sound, it almost sounds like a sitar. Maybe that’s the tone quality that attracted him.
@@Thomas_Geist Yes, you are right. In 2018 in Helsinki he used an LP on the song and if you compare the three (2013 with the Eastern sounding Django intro and MusicMan (see the link in my previous reply), this one with the tele and the 2018 LP version (the link below), the MusicMan sounds the best suited to this particular song. I wonder if it's also easier to adjust the volume with his pinky on the MM, not that it really makes a difference as he has rather large hands. ua-cam.com/video/1RK9Yu8K5o0/v-deo.html
@@Thomas_Geist Could also be that when he finds a guitar he's crazy about, he uses that guitar extensively in concerts on several songs, before replacing it with some new favorite?

saw him yesterday and almost cried to this song.

Yep. Every once in a while I moved my eyes away from the lcd display of the camera and just felt the urge to rub my eyes. Is this for real?
Good video , good sound, perfect , professional ! Thank You mr Cat ! This is the one of the beautiest songs in our Milky Way!
Thank you Elena. I was blessed.
Beautiful everything... I must admit to being starstruck by the extremely famous guitar he is playing here. 1951 Fender Nocaster... No guilt special.

Not as good as the 2009 appearance, but still love you Joe
True. More is not better. 2009 show blew this one away, but still a rock/blues legend.

What happened to the MusicMan? That was part of the sound of this song.

Yes. I felt he was playing for my camera. Surely he was aware of my filming him right in front of him.
Waited the whole song for 8:50 in
