A solo piano arrangement of the login screen theme music of Jhin, the Virtuoso from League of Legends.
DIFFICULTY: Master
As this is MIDI playback, it will sound different to when played on a real piano, for one the rubato featured in the original in the second half is not present in this video, and humans will probably not be able to play as accurately as the drum machine featured in the first half.

why would Jhin's theme be in anything but 4/4?
:o what if Jhin's obsession with 4 is representative of the modern obsession with songs in 4 time
ToaFluttershy I mean, most songs just have a 4/4 chord progression because its easy and counting to 4 is also used in dance practices too, as well as directing. Jhin does all of those things so it just comes as second nature- thats just how people in the entertainment industry are, its just something to build character really.
But you could also argue that the number 4 is attributed to him because it has the same character “Demon” or “Devil” in Japanese and Chinese.
His theme is in 4/4 cause of his bullete

Sheet music is now available, sorry for the wait!Note that it will sound different/better when played on a real piano as the sustain pedaled notes will hold for longer and you will have more control over the dynamics as well as beingn able to add rubato which is heavily featured in the piece.

Yea, i can't really pinpoint it myself and my english isnt the best, so i couldn't really explain what i meant, but yea, as in what era :)

I would probably start by being lazy and saying that it's definitely a contemporary piece written in the modern time for a video game and hence it uses and blends together the traits it does in order to portray a certain scene or character (Jhin). Solidifying its place as a contemporary piece, it uses sounds that can are usually heard as 'non musical' (gun sounds) in a musical way (as percussion), and also uses an electronic kick drum. The percussion in the first section is also very mechanical and 100% on the beat which is typical of modern electronic music such as EDM. If you need to analyse the piece, this could be seen to represent the methodical and planned nature of Jhin's assassinations, as well as the fact he has a fixed attack speed in game.
The choir is written in four part harmony, a tradition that began in church music and spread to secular works later on. (I forgot the era because I lost all my notes from music history class but I think it's safe to say throughout the baroque and classical era, someone correct me if I'm wrong). The choir reinforces the 'beauty' thematic of Jhin, which is also strongly tied to his mental state ( www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/40typ9/voice_jhin_the_virtuoso/cyxb541 ). As befitting of the character's title 'the Virtuoso', there is also a solo violin part playing fast arpeggiated passages. Virtuosic solo passages were featured in the Classical era, as well as afterwards, in order to show off the virtuoso's skills. However, if you talk about these traits, definitely reinforce that it's a contemporary piece that uses traits from other eras.

We're considering doing a project for our finals about the use of a mix of modern and classical styles of music in popular culture such as videogames and movies, and alot of music from League seems very fit to use in our project, especially jhin due to his whole virtuoso perfomance thing
+Honeybun Yeah, Jhin seems to be a perfect example of that. Other examples could include stuff like Battle! Lorekeeper Zinnia (has classical instruments such as a solo violin melody over electronic drum beat) and Battle! Ho-oh (incorporates Japanese traditional instruments over electronics/slap bass) from Pokémon, some of the Runescape 3 soundtrack such as Tuska World Event medley, some of the Angel Beats soundtrack and maybe even Bravely Default's symphonic metal. (although metal was definitely derived from classical playing and melody/harmony)
