@bennybeekeeper my bees are going okay. Due to our local conditions we've had zero harvest this season (Canberra region). Oddly though a small swarm landed in one of my trees. It was only about 4 cups of bees which tried to go into an existing hive so there was some carnage. At first I just thought it was a robbing attempt but then later that evening they settled so I dumped them into a mini mating nuc. Since then I spotted the queen plus fresh eggs. Now trying to build them up before winter sets in.
I’ve seen 3 of those strange little summer swarms this year. Two of landed on existing hives and one on a bush. Not sure how to explain them. Conditions are very tough here at the moment. I’ve just started feeding my main hives, to try and keep them raising brood
Definitely not boring....thanks
😊 amazing how small they still grow
The hole they're chewing at 30:35, yes easy to fix by glueing in a small matching piece of polystyrene and paint over it.
There’ll be a few repairs to do on these boxes. There’s a bit of chewing going on
비디오 잘 보고 갑니다.
If they don't build up enough, can always make a foam follower board for the winter.
Clever idea.
I forgot about that little swarm, I wondered what you was gonna do with it, nice experiment to see if you can get her though. Good job 😎
I was surprised they actually moved into that mini Nuc. The thing was packed.
@@bennybeekeeper 🤣
Hey hey, I mentioned to you that I use a cut down 2litre milk container as a feeder a couple weeks back. Glad it works great for you too.
Thanks for the tip. How are your bees doing?

@@bennybeekeeper I've done the same, plus added pollen sub for long living fat winter bees.
@@bennybeekeeperwhat brand of straps are those?
Thanks.
I really like the videos about these home designed minis .watch them over and over t get my quota bee fun.any plans to show the main yard tasks
Thanks for the feedback. I often take the tripod out to the main yard intending to take some video, but then I get busy working and forget about it
Hope they make the winter okay. Thanks!!!
Yeah I’m leaving it a bit late to do this but we’ll see how it turns out
@@bennybeekeeper It just might surprise you. I did a cutout in late fall last year and it survived winter just fine and swarmed first this spring.
How do you transfer to 5 frame nuc
A 4 frame Nuc box fits neatly on top. I made a video on it recently
